Ren is truly next level. He's shaking up the current music scene - AND as an independent artist. Much respect to Ren. 🙌
I concur. Ren is simply beyond most singers, rapper, musicians, performers. One he doesn’t repeat himself even though there are connected themes.
There are other who are beyond in different ways but my favorite song from Ren is the one I am currently listening to. I also like the music in REN’s spoken word. One you hear it it is just there.
You’ve lifted my already astounding respect for Ren to higher notes. Definitely an artist who knows.
Ren's rap hits hard because he uses his voice as another instrument. His voice is not just TALK or Mumble Rap, it is lyrical. Ren is a bard in the truest sense. Ren has ELELVATED rap to the next level. From this point forward all rappers will be playing catch up... Witness the RENaissance! RENegades Rise.
Current rappers couldn't even stand in the same ring as him, Eminem ya anyone else, no!
@charliecrowley1070 not even Em can compete here. Ren on a whole other level. If Em didn't have Dre he would have been anything
I haven’t been into “RAP” since the early 90’s. Ren is on a whole other level in all the music he does. He’s a damn genius.
Predict the unpredictable.😃 I reeeeaaallly think you should do ”How to be me” live with Chinchilla next. More singing to be analyzed there, with some beautifully chilling lyrics dedicated to Rens friend Joe who decided to departure into heaven too early.
Filmed and should be out in the coming weeks :) !! I was actually going to post it this week, but then this song came out... Wanted to get this one out right away!
@@chrisliepe yesss!
@@chrisliepe Looking forward to that one. If you want another hidden gem, do ”Crutch” from his first album. I think it’s beautiful, especially when you watch the video.
@@jonasmandersson I agree Crutch is painfully beautiful.
Awesome How to be me is one of my favourites. Check out Chinchilla fingers. Live version is fantastic. 🔥🔥🔥
Love your analysis! Ren's rap flows are ear candy because of his musicality and how well he blends them with the instrumental, besides insane pen game.
YES
"Illest of our time" unofficial lyrics.... yeah I'm that sad I spent an hour going over & over typing them out for you
1, 2 , 3,
spitting bullets on the beat,
I’m a sick little puppy
who get’s lucky when he speaks,
Blessed with a silver tongue
Chest with an Iron Lung,
Extra Terrestrial,
Tentacles, Alien,
Psychopathic tendencies,
A pathologic entity,
If everything is set in stone,
then this is how it’s meant to be,
Elementary dear Watson,
you might find,
Yourself inside the mind
of the illest of our time,
Get it boppin
hot rockin,
I’m Freddy Kruger,
I’m choppin,
I turn it up to (elle-heaven) 11,
The demigorgon of oppin,
The strangest thing
I’m the boss when,
the danger lingers,
I’m plotting,
Sweet like a spoonful of sugar,
Because I’m Mary like Poppins,
The double barrell is cocking,
A shotgun shell to the noggin (head)
I’m crafting catchy bronchitis,
You’re in your funeral coffin/coughin,
No stopping, blocking me,
not when I pick the world up, I’m squatting,
And when I take from the rich?
I’m in your hood & I’m Robin/Robbing
4, 5, 6,
Better Crucifix/Cruise a fix,
666 flow,
Crucify a Catholic,
Maverick,
anti-hero, villain or protagonist,
words are kind of muffled,
when you’re sucking on my massive ughhh…
Who’s the fucking illest,
who’s the realist, who’s the baddest kid?
call the police, on this beat
before I damage it.
A kiddie called Screech
on the streets, I’m a masochist,
so far from reach,
I’m the type to kill a pacifist,
Catalyst? Or Chemical Combustion?
I’m the analyst,
Of metaphors and similes and synonyms,
An alchemist,
Evangelist,
Spread the words I seek,
like they’re cancerous,
Pragmatist,
I think before I speak,
Then I answer it,
Pull up, pull up, pull up to the place,
when I pull it bang, my bullet sang,
it’s shot right into space,
Music for the hooligans,
let loose on the estate,
Call the police & the riot vans,
the people wanna play, ay..
Freedom now,
has lost all meaning how,
can we all be free,
in the hierarchy breeding ground,
The poor get poorer while,
The rich get rich in style,
I’ll be a heretic,
kill a king, take his crown,
Top of the throne,
top of the kingdom I own,
top of the streets that I roam,
Top of the dome, spitting for Britain I’ve shown,
Bars a cellular phone,
Hyping,
like Tyson,
an Icon,
roll twice and
Left righting,
I’m striking,
like I’m biting,
Like a python,
Ready, I’m heavy,
I’m mercury, I am Freddie,
So eat my words, fill your belly,
like alphabetty spaghetti,
I am a rap star,
don’t believe me? the facts are,
I spit fast like a Nascar,
Don’t believe me? Then fuck yaaah, I-
-Shit…
I don’t feel so well,
I don’t feel so well,
I don’t feel so well,
call a medic for myself.
I don’t feel so hot my brother,
aching shaking, stop, then stutter,
things go wrong, hit by King Kong,
a Swanton Bomb like Hardy Brothers,
I don’t feel so fresh my bro,
things look blurry, speaking slow,
Heading Hong Kong, Wonton Soup is,
what I have for brains I know-
-That I, want to spread these tattered wings-
and hold them high,
banished from the Heavens,
but I’m knocking on the sky,
Living with depression
is a blessin in disguise,
never second guessing
intuition, getting wise,
Want (one to) to sink into the pupil of my eye,
Travel to the corner of my cornea & mind,
Look for all the answers that I never seem to find,
Till then, I guess I’m still the “Illest of our time”
PLEASE react to his old song Crutch feat his then gf Bibi. he does something so…unique? w/ his voice at the end, idk how to explain but i’d love to hear you do so!!
Yep, Rens rap never gets boring cause he changes tone and rhythm so delightfully. He's not afraid to use all his voices 😊 love the channel ❤
His lyrical use of double entendres is amazing, "’I'm heavy, I’m Mercury, I am Freddy,..." Mercury being a HEAVY metal, Freddy Mercury....😵💫 C'MON! Even the title is a double entendre - "Illest of our Time". He's firing warning shots in this one and making sure everyone takes notice. Nice to see him showing some attitude and confidence, being a little braggadocious. I Love it.
He did a live stream right after the video dropped yesterday (on Twitch), and to see his genuine, emotional reaction to how many reaction channels had already posted videos within an hour of the songs release, was truly heartwarming. This young man deserves every bit of love , support, and success he's finally getting. I couldn't be happier for him, especially for someone so talented, so driven, and without question, someone who has been forged through fire. Love this kid! Fan for life.
Well spoken, Kenneth. I saw that part of Ren’s live stream and was so happy for him. A lot of weight lifted off of his shoulders when he saw those 10 reaction already there. Good for him!
@Chris Liepe what I have noticed about Ren is he paints outside the Lines, Musically Speaking! If you look at Hip Hop, Pop, or whatever Genre of Music they are all basically the same! They sing/their music is inside that box (inside the lines)! What makes Ren so great he doesn't do that, he bends the Genres and everything to do with to make his own Picture outside the lines! Nothing like Ren in the Music World today! I hope the Music Industry is taking a good look at Ren and his music! Ren is the future! People are tired and bored of their factory music!
I love it when people that are reacting to my favorite music telling me why I love it so much in more different ways then I could explain it to myself. Really long sentence that hopefully made sense, haha.
Great reaction and I will definitely come back for more.
It did and ditto for me
Your prof pic is the best album of the 90’s imo
I think it’s that basis in singing that makes it possible for him to make impossible flow switches seemingly effortlessly.
Awesome breakdown like no other reactor... as usual. Thanks for reacting to this Chris.
You're so very welcome!
I totally agree on that.
I got 3 Favs in the "Reacting-Scene". A Therapist/Musician (for her inside in human Psychic), a Rapper (for breaking down Bars and Style) and there is Chris for his outstanding Analysis of the (use of the) Voice.
comment for the algo. Love your vocal breakdowns.
So glad you like them!
Not one superfluous word every line hits you hard. Chills as he closes his eyes because as you said he draws you in.
I've discovered Ren a couple of weeks ago and he quickly became one of my favourite artists. The true passion and the hard work that he's put in his music can be felt in every song.
Thank you very much for the video, I've enjoyed learning more about Ren's voice!
This is possibly the most FASCINATING reaction to Ren's music I've seen. I would listen to you break down every single one of his songs, they're all masterpieces but videos like this help me really appreciate them in a new way. Thank you.
“Worlds within worlds…”. Love it!
You can definitely hear his musical talent in the way he raps
loved what you said about range in singing and speaking!
Yessss !!
As someone who has been following both you and Ren for quite some time, I'm really loving these reaction / analysis videos on Ren's music. Your appreciation of the human voice as an instrument and your articulation on the building blocks of tone, melody, rhythm and how it all fits together in an artist's songwriting and performance are astoundingly useful to someone working on their own voice. So much gratitude for what you do, Chris!
This song gets better and better each time I listen to it.
I appreciate Ren’s Originality. Great Reaction video too, and what you pull out of his voice.
Thank you!! 😊
@@chrisliepe Your’e welcome. Appreciate you! 😊
Just want to drop a huge thanks for bringing such deep and superbly explained knowledge to us.
A few years ago a bad strep infection did some very real damage to my vocal chords and I lost most of my range and all of my ability to do anything but sing (would hardly call it singing to be honest) in “straight lines”. I had to stop singing for a long time and it felt like I was being mentally suffocated.
I’ve healed now but my voice is not the same as it used to be. I actually like my tone of voice better now, but it’s like I’m learning to play a completely different instrument.
Your knowledge and way of sharing it really helps me out when exploring how to interact with these new strings I’ve acquired. I especially like when you analyse Ren because it also inspires me in my job, which includes a lot of public speaking and having to grab and keep people’s attention. Before a speaking gig I always listen to some of his songs and I get so pumped and inspired just by hearing his vocal acrobatics.
Since I started applying things you discuss on this channel to my speaking, people have started giving me feedback telling me how they enjoy listening to me waffling on and my sometimes weird theatrics.
So thank you again! Hopefully, I’ll be able to apply all this to my singing soon too.
No matter what Ren makes, I fucking love it. I'm not a huge HipHop fan, but even his Rapsongs are so god damn interesting and good.
Ren is a consummate performer. He's always a joy to experience the art he creates. He was gifted with a great voice, and he's so obviously put in a lot of work to have incredible elocution that just lands right in the sweet spot.
I think u are one of the best reactors by far , there are voice coaches so thy say & thy don't break it down like u do at all , it's awesome , u seem very talented yourself, the way u break down key moments is great, when goin back & listening u can enjoy more after u hve brought them out, broken them down , Great Channel, content !!!!
Yo Chris, please try to get Ren as a guest in your video(s). It would be freaking awesome!!
Love the content as always
You've explained why I like listening to Ren rap.
I want to see a reaction with Chris and The Charismatic Voice!!! They have the same stare 😂😂
Great reaction -- lots of details and insights. Thanks!
Thanks for another expert analysis and giving me ears to listen to things i wouldn't have noticed to look for before in this and other music in future.
Aye, now you have pointed out, i agree Ren does often seem to build up and hype up the excitement so that the mind is on full alert for the ulterior delivery of "The Message" - good call
I would recomend you watching "The Big Push - I shot the sheriff", it is Ren with his old (?) band. It is amazing.
Just wait for sick boi, loosing it , money game, genesis… the list goes on as you can see Ren is gold. He’s my favorite new find😁😏
I really appreciate your vocal analysis style and insight you provide. Really shows perspectives we may not see/hear on our own. It's a great learning experience.
As usual, you do not disappoint. This hits hard. Ren is an amazing artist.
Just want to say that you are one of my favorit reactors when I watch reactors videos on Rens music. Love your musical talent and knowledge, I learn so much about music and singing through you! I kind of am not a singer at all, even if I like to sing, but my partner has a musical ear and that hurts him sometimes me singing 😂 So maybe I will try your lessons some day. Anyhow, I have subscribed and will watch more of your content too. Thank you for this one! ❤
You're the perfect person to react to Ren's The Big Push - I Shot The Sheriff ( Bob marley cover ). Please do it!! That's where he shows off his voice.
Almost everyone requests this cover because it’s amazing! There are a few live versions they have done. This is usually the one everyone wants. If it’s the wrong one please feel free to correct it.
The Big Push - I Shot the Sheriff, Road to Zion, Hip Hop live
ruclips.net/video/uSeCuR51rek/видео.html
Love everything he makes
Can I possibly get more into this guys art???....hell no...I'm so hooked it's scary !!!
Love listening to your reactions. I'm as musical as cement so always gain a lot from your insight into the musicality. Ren said there are 16 songs on the upcoming album, and he's only released 3 so far. Plenty of surprises to come I think! Seeing so many reactions pop up so fast made him tearful in his livestream, your support obviously means a lot.
I'm gonna overdose. 16 songs😮
Ren - THE BIG PUSH PRAISE YOU, Great arrangement to get your music ears to sink into.
Thankyou Chris, I always appreciate your vibe. I've been singing for a long time but every day's a school day always get good tips from you!
His vocal control is RIDICULOUS! ❤️🔥❤️🔥🎶🎶💯😎
Quick of the press! Great reaction and analysis as always!!
Michael Jackson 💯 I've got all his an Jackson 5 on vinyl.
Ren singing Sting's Englishman in New York is a treat. I think youd love it!
Merci de faire ressortir toute la subtilité et la musicalité propres et uniques à Ren ! Analyse super intéressante !!! Merci.
hey Chris, I apologize if this was already mentioned but if you really want to hear Ren sing his ass off, check out his band The Big Push. I highly recommend their covers of “War Pigs” “I Shot the Sheriff” and “Englishman in NY”
If you really want to hear his singing voice i recommend 3 videos:
-Ren & Sam Tompkins - Earned it /Mans World / Falling
-The Big Push - Wade in the water / Nina simone / Trouble so hard
-The Big Push - I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop
You wont regret it.
Ren is unique and has an amazing talent
Again a great analysis hard to find anywhere else!
Love your vocal analysis man!! Please react to Ren's Diazepam
Very insightful reaction. Ren plays many instruments, but none better than his voice.
I just noticed that he put a reference to "Screech's Tale" in this Track, which makes me think that we just saw a scene of Screech's life.
He did this in "Hi Ren" as well with the Sea Shells from "Money Game part 2". Or was the evil Side mocking the viral Eminem - Sea Shell Meme ?!
I got questions. Ren's Rabbit hole is sooo deep. ^^
Great reactions. They offer a nice insight into how Ren is able to use his voice in so many unique ways.
Great analysis, I love looking at songs through your eyes. Ren strikes again!
Thanks for making me appreciate even more of that arrangement. I'd already considered lyrics, performance, visuals, music arrangement... but focusing on the vocal part under a microscope was really enjoyable. Love your reactions. Learn so much.
Your good music reactor you appreciate every detail which i love
How can I click "like" more than once 😢😢
Exquisite detail that you’re bringing our attention to! I’m appreciating him more and more if that’s even possible 🙌🏼
Thanks for an insightful reaction.. you give a different perspective in a world of reactors! 🎶♥️🎶
another great reaction, appreciate your breakdowns and its cool to see how much you like his styles and songs
Glad you like them!
Wow Chris, that was quick! Thanks for all your videos, lots of inspiration for progress
My pleasure!
thank you for your accurate reactions ,it s a pleasure to hear your analysis
Glad you like them!
I only discovered you recently. I have an understanding of music, but I'm not a vocalist, so your insights are very helpful for what I do. Ren's melodic rap is one of the things I love most about his stuff. He takes it a level above other rappers in this sub-genre.
Saw it an hour after it came out, but his stuff, like so many artists I love, truly requires multiple listens to catch all the layers. Amazed at his works, and amazed at the speed of your post with the reaction video, thanks!
If I may request a tune or singer break down for the future, I am a huge fan of Cedric Bixler-Zavala, specifically his work with The Mars Volta. He blows me away with his melodies and harmonies and he just seems so different than most singers to me, and I would love to see a good breakdown on him, and for my money "Twilight as My Guide" might be my favorite performance by him. So who knows, I'll cross my fingers, but no worries either way. Thanks for all you do Chris! I'll be watching.
amazing song and artist (and video of course)
Love this breakdown!!! Good job my dude!!❤❤
I would love to see you react to Freckled Angels. It's a tribute to a good friend of his who passed away. The live version and studio version are both amazing.
Always love your technical views and construction analysis, makes me appreciate music even more
Ren = prodigy. Mozart would be proud.
I love how excited you are in your reactions!
Great reaction Chris!!
Love your break downs ❤️❤️
At 79 my limitations become more pronounced. Like 12 tone, Rap does not give me the skin organisms aka goosebumps and chills I experience with other forms of music. Raised with a deep love for local music I will patiently wait for my turn to appreciate REN’s next gift.
damn i always love youre technical breakdown of these songs.
its insane how many minute details ren uses to give life and emotion to all of his "songs"
i would love to see you react to ren's live preformance with his band called "the big push" ishot the sheriff/road to zion/hip hop.
also side note, an artist i personally love and has a verry nice raw voice and range i think you would like to hear is "Tamino" song: "Habibi - live version"
You must check out Ren with his band, "The Big Push" live busking on the streets of Brighton performing "I Shot The Sheriff/ The Road To Zion/ Hip Hop ! His singing voice is beautiful!
🔥🔥❤️🔥🔥 #Ren
I find it easier to start from the rhythm first, where other writers may hook you on a melody with lovely chords, he hooks you on the temporal patterns and word games. I totally agree with what you said about precision, and I think that illustrates his obsession with timing, as you say, the paces
This is a guy that it will take a generation before anyone can even come close to his musical genius. His voice, his story telling, and the then he does the usic and beats. He is a generational talent!
There's a song on Ren's new album that you would go absolutely crazy for - Wicked Ways. Including, like this song, so many musical changes in such a short time, as well as the RIGHT way to use autotune. I mean, the whole album is just incredible, and completely deserves it's #1 slot, but I think you'd particularly dig that one.
Your analysis is always spot on. Would never have caught that the first line was melodic. Thank you!
There's certain reactors I get really excited when I see their videos pop up - you're one of them. This is my first listen to this
Love these breakdowns Chris❤
He's Rhyming Rhythms in a Punk Rap!! I Know what He's doing, It's HARDCORE!! 😄😄
Your analysis is on point once again. ❤
Love your content! Learn so much. Keep up the great work massive fan here
Thank you so much for the reactions you do. I learn a great deal from them! Keep up the good work!
He did say you were going in the mind❤
I enjoyed listening to your analysis, thank you!
You always manage to point things out that I wouldn’t have even dreamed of noticing and yet I totally heard. I say “oh YA!” Way too much!
Thank you for the great reaction to wonderful Ren!
Could you please do a reaction to Dimash? ❤❤❤
Thank you great job
Thanks Chris - such an knowledgeable and enthusiastic reactor - you never disappoint! :)
Great insights, thank you.
Thank you Ren, You have saved music from hell!
Bro... as he is Next Level, on a level of his own, you Sir... are the Ren of vocal recognition artist!!!
Ren's lyrical/vocal expertise (his instrument) that he's now mastered (with no limits) to a level that he's basically (unknowingly) become the Bruce Lee of rap.
I appreciate seein’ you doin’ vocal analysis videos on rap music as well. Also, would be amazing to see you do this video on Lose Yourself
