that Freddy Mercury bit is really nice. He says, "I'm heavy, Mercury, I am Freddy."
So he's heavy, bc he's a badass, then Mercury, as an element, is a heavy metal, and is the most toxic of the heavy metals. So it will make you extremely Ill, and then he puts a bow on it with the Freddy Mercury reference. 🤘
This makes me wonder if he heard the murmurs about "Hi Ren" being the new "Bohemian Rhapsody" before he wrote that verse.

Also, he'd also earlier said he was Freddie Krueger, so it also refers back to that, as there are other Krueger references through the song (4,5,6 spit a crucifix etc).
It's 'I'm heavy, on Mercury, I'm Freddy.' Which adds a bit more to the meaning, I think. Mercury is the smallest planet, and he's heavy even in it's weak gravity. Also, mercury, heavy metal, and Mercury, Freddy. Fucking brilliant multilayered wordplay.
The iron lung was a machine that helped someone breathe when their lungs failed or had a disease. He's saying he's blessed with a silver tongue (clever bars) but he's literally sick (with Lyme disease).
Yes iron lungs were hyperbaric chambers that kept people with tuberculosis alive. They used to call it “ the consumption “ Tuberculosis.” Took over 1.7 million lives.

His lyrical use of double entendres is amazing, "Ready I'm heavy, I’m Mercury, I am Freddy,..." Mercury being a HEAVY metal, Freddy Mercury....😵💫 C'MON! Even the title is a double entendre - "Illest of our Time". He's firing warning shots in this one and making sure everyone takes notice. Nice to see him showing some attitude and confidence, being a little braggadocious. I Love it.
He did a live stream right after the video dropped yesterday (on Twitch), and to see his genuine, emotional reaction to how many reaction channels had already posted videos within an hour of the songs release, was truly heartwarming. This young man deserves every bit of love , support, and success he's finally getting. I couldn't be happier for him, especially for someone so talented, so driven, and without question, someone who has been forged through fire. Love this kid! Fan for life.

The iron lung reference makes me think of Polio patients.
He refers to the Swanton Bomb in a few tracks. The first time he met one of his best friends, Joe, he did a swanton bomb on the ground and Ren was shocked but he popped back up grinning. Joe is the friend who committed suicide when they were young and his death had a very serious impact on Ren as it would of course. The Suic*de track honestly is a work of art

This one was embedded in my mind since it came out. The soundtrack of my dreams and it's one of my favourite songs ❤ one of the little bars I love and most miss is "I'm a sick little puppy who gets lucky when he speaks" - most people name their puppy Lucky! Double meaning in every line tbh ❤
So far I've never heard anyone mention the obvious "Spinal Tap" reference: "turn it up to 11". This was also a "Stranger Things" reference. Double entendre almost certainly intended.

I personally feel that it's way too accurate timing wise. I prefer a ltitle play with the timing. I may be biased but prefer techique over punchlines. I just don't get Ren. He's fast, his punchlines are strong but his delivery is robotic imo.
