I really appreciate seeing the economy videos! Would love to see more! On another note, I have always appreciated how grateful you are to have the first class experiences! It’s clear you have worked hard in your life and are now getting to enjoy the reward and fly around the world, exploring your passion! Keep up the great videos!
I prefer the business/first class videos. I fly economy a bunch, but when I get the chance to fly business/first I like looking at your videos to see what the different airlines offer.
Agreed. Also, honestly, other than pitch (which can be obtained from seatguru, etc), all domestic economy is basically the same. F and J have much more variety.
@@nmplsnot really. As the big 3 are the same there is a big difference between JetBlue and Southwest, and the legacy airlines and Spirit. You also have the smaller regional ones.
I do appreciate both economy & business/first class videos as I do use both. To say I have a "bad back" is like saying a 747 is a bit bigger than a Cessna, seriously. I was retired with a full medical pension at 30yo & after 6 failed back surgeries including experimental surgeries & a pain pump machine inserted in the fat my stomach to pump medication to my back directly I have to travel business or first class on any flight over 2.5hrs. It makes a tremendous difference because I need to stand often & the extra recline space is much more beneficial than I woulda thought. First time I flew first class on a 4.5hr flight I had just flown in economy about 6mos prior I couldn't believe the difference it made for me. It does make international travel quite a bit more expensive for me but I couldn't do it any other way.
Thank you, Jeb. Finally a video on Economy seating!!!! Most travelers fly economy, whether domestic or international, which make this video very relevant to many of your subscribers. I look forward to seeing more economy flight videos :-)
I'm a big reader, so I ALWAYS bring a book with me no matter where we go. While I get a lot of reading done at home, flying is my peaceful time where I can really zero in and read for long uninterrupted periods of time. Having the airline employee free travel perks, sometimes I'll just fly hub to hub on a day off with my wife to get reading in and get some local food and fly back! Great video!
@@RLTtizME because it’s what I liked to do and if you watched the video it was asked what you like to do when you fly. Not sure what the issue is. Sorry readers damaged you in some way haha
I will say, one area that flight reviews are lacking is the dedicated long haul PE cabins, where they have different seats than economy (not just more leg room). Those are kinda interesting because on some airlines, its basically Y with a better seat and others its closer to J with a worse seat. Unfortunately innovation is sort of dead in the segment -- Its really too bad air new zealand's space seat didn't get more reviews. That seat was wild (the closest thing to a J seat in not J).
As someone who works for an airline, below wing... I would say it depends on the length of your flight and the time as well. Are you looking to get work done? Are you looking to relax and maybe take a nap? So if you are going international, besides traveling from the US to either Canada or Mexico that is, I would recommend getting getting more space... your knees will thank you. But if you are traveling from Atlanta to Indianapolis, it's not really worth it. Hope this helps.
I’ve only ever flown economy. I never bought the in flight food even before the pandemic. I always pack a sandwich, fruit, and chips like I’m going to school and need a lunch. Lol that and I’ll bring a book to read. I usually end up falling asleep though. Haha
Glad to see you listening to us - far too many of you are out of touch after years of collecting miles and making lots of money on youtube - example - Wingin it.
I flew on a 737-800 with American earlier this week. The crew was absolutely amazing! Flight reviews can really vary based on how cheerful the crew is!
Remote gate boarding and no close up of that big beautiful engine! I'll forgive you this one time Jeb. 😉 😂 I do the same thing with selecting a window and aisle while travelling as a couple. It's worked maybe 50% of the time.
HUGE West Wing fan myself Jeb! I've seen the entire series at least 10 times now. It is always in the rotation. Just discovered your channel and am really enjoying it!
Wow! Jeb not wearing a Jeb shirt is just crazy! Loved the video even if I had to suffer with you in economy. I much prefer living vicariously through your business and first class experiences. But any aviation video is better than no aviation video from Jeb Brooks! Also, ginger ale is also my favourite in flight beverage!
hehe coincidentally i have a flight attendant interview for them this Wednesday 3/9! i promise if i ever see you on a flight, i'll always ask what brings you on board! :D keep up the great work Jeb!
Can’t forget that even if you do the aisle window plan on other flights, a stand by will be put in that middle seat. Always gotta remember stand bys love economy lol
I use the aisle/window strategy, too. For me, it works about a quarter of the time. I always pray that if the middle seat gets taken, it's a small petite woman. Sadly, it's usually a non-rev who needs a lap belt extender.
While I’m sure people appreciate the economy class videos, I’d agree with you Jeb in that there really isn’t much to film. Most economy trips will feel the exact same no matter what airline. The main different being in some airlines it costs extra for checked baggage and food etc. Aside from that, it’s all similar. The business and first class videos will always be more interesting and there is potential for more points of difference between airlines in those classes.
@@lmd499 anyone, because it’s affordable. They usually serve small easier airports for 25% of the cost of a full service airline. Normally regional routes too, I don’t need much for a 2 hour flight I can buy my own soda and snacks
We do the aisle/window strategy also. However, I haven't been on a Delta flight that wasn't full for years, except for a few during COVID. Glad it worked for you. On a few Delta planes there are rows with only two seats - due to exit row, etc. - those are our favorites when flying economy.
after Uni I need to fly at least Econ Prem and hopefully in a few years I can afford business class from flying LA to see family on the EC. growing up flying econ dealing w shrinking seats sucked...
Just working my way into the 135 world at 22 years old. It’s my eventual goal to fly for American Airlines, I am hoping to bypass the regionals getting twin turbine time at my 135 job that pays close to a regional. Great video Jeb, maybe I will be your FO or Captain one day!

When I see my comment at the beginning of the video... 🤭Great video though! I think it is helpful to have a mix of economy and first/business class flights. I've only flown with AA twice (787 and 737 Oasis) on a hop through DFW, both in economy. Funny enough, I found their 737 Oasis seat, similar to the one in your video, more comfortable than their 787 seats. Not saying I would seek out their 737, but I would have thought their 787 seat would be more comfortable, especially since they use it for 15 hour flights. Their 737s also have huge bins; boarded near the end because I took too long to get to the gate, but they still had room for my bag. Also, to answer the question in the end: Window seat! Unless I'm on a CRJ-200 because those windows are so low and the wall curves into my shoulder...
We’ve been watching a lot of your videos and it’s always nice to see the first class options but it’s nicer to see economy seats since that’s what we and many others can afford. We’re going in our honeymoon soon and it’s been stressful looking at first class prices when we’ve flown hundreds of times in economy and we’re just fine lol. So this is a nice reminder (although it’s an older video) that economy seats are perfect too!
We flew to and from Fargo North Dakota to Orlando via Allegiant on an A320. It's an absolutely beautiful aircraft. Tons of leg room, very quiet land comfy seats. Nice.
I appreciate the economy reviews - many of us can only ever fly economy, (and rarely fly at all) and your tips are helpful! But it’s also nice to see business and first class reviews, so those of us who will probably never have a chance to fly that way, can at least ‘dream’! 😊
Not that expensive to fly first class if you plan/budget for it, especially if you don’t fly often. Also, 24 hrs before you check in on the airline app, lots of times they offer an opportunity to upgrade. Many times it’s a reasonable cost.
@Thomas. Thanks for encouragement but When one’s country’s currency is worth little in the world market, ‘upgrades’ are far from reasonable. In our case our children all live overseas and so it is a case of scraping and saving and taking the very cheapest of cheap fares, just to get to visit them. The kids keep offering to help of course, but we would not expect a business class ticket! So I just watch RUclips Business and First class reviews, and continue to dream! 😊
I'd definitely would like more economy class videos (keeping the other ones of course) a lot of us always fly economy and I think it would pretty useful to know your take! There's a lot to cover for this kind of flights and you just did that on these amazing new video! Cheers! Edit: also the value of the production, storytelling, and sights, offer great entertainment regardless if is economy or first class.
Thanks for the economy class review. More please. A couple of my tips: I love to read but seldom have enough time to do so in my regular life. So, I stock up on smaller-sized paperbacks that are just for traveling. Older ones tend to fit in a purse or personal item better. I often pick fiction set in the locale I am visiting. Also, I bring a collapsible cup to reduce plastic waste. Finally, a mini fan was a real life saver on a long, warm flight without air vents over Africa. The fan plugs into my iPad. It goes on all my flights now- just in case.
It’s interesting to compare US short haul economy with European short haul economy. Most European carriers now have to compete with the low cost & budget airlines, so many have adapted their onboard offerings accordingly. IFE is basically non-existent, and most carriers offer buy on board. British Airways have recently switched to the hybrid model of offering a bottle of water & snack for free, and further options to buy. Short haul these days is so competitive that it basically is all about price. But I recommend taking food onboard as even food purchases made in a terminal (where you’re a captive market) are still cheaper than onboard.
What a great video! Economy isn't that bad. Especially on American, they have decent seats, a clean cabin, and good snacks. Overall great video Jeb and Suzanne and cya in the sky!😀🛫
Economy isn't bad, but especially on American it isn't good. Look at carriers like Delta, jetblue, or even the new united planes, they're actually trying to let you enjoy your time on the plane
Wouldn't agree with their "Osais" interiors like this one. Cramped and no AVOD. I book away from AA now after been a long time heavy traveler on them. UA is doing a much better job now.
Nice content, Jeb! We use the middle seat open strategy when we fly economy and it works about 1/2 the time!! Glad it worked for you. We did MCO - PDX in June on Alaska and it looked good until the last person boarded and took the seat!!
I do, too! It works for me about 1/4 the time. I hope if the middle seat is filled, it's a small person. Unfortunately, it's usually a non-rev who needs a lap belt extender.
Dear Jeb & Suzanne: The two of you are making such a great team...It is so beautiful to see how Jeb loves you; he simply adores you and Suzanne, you are so beautiful and shy; for instance when the two of you toasted with bear her eyes were so filled with tenderness and shyness towards Jeb...It is truly a blessing to see the two of you together...It is my prayer and hopes that the two of you will continue loving each other with this same tenderness and shyness to the end of time...What a beautiful couple; may G_d bless you immensely forever...
My wife and I always book aisle and window when we can. If someone shows up then you are no worse off than if you did middle and window, and if you do book middle/window then the aisle will fill up at a much greater rate than the middle will if you book aisle/window. If someone does show up, they will always agree to switch out of the middle seat. 100% guaranteed.
I love to watch you guys travelling together. Nice strategy to take the aisle and window seat, to keep the middle seat empty👍. When I travel in Economy, I make sure that I do have enough content on my IPad to watch some Movies or Series. Water and some snacks are also on my must have list.
Yes please more economy videos. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this video specifically because it was economy. I think as the world reopens it would be nice to have a few economy flight review videos of both domestic and international routes on some of the more popular airlines. Appreciate it!
Although i appreciated an economy flight Jeb, my attraction to you and other aviation geeks on You Tube is living vicariously through you on premium flights. When I am ready to pull the trigger on those premium flights, I can feel comfortable I got the Jeb score before.
There are always a lot of comments about the lack of IFE on American’s narrow body aircraft. I think removing the screens was a good move. I have found that as planes age the reliability of IFE screens decreases a lot and with constantly improving technology, they rapidly become dated. I also like connecting to my device with Bluetooth rather than carrying a cord to plug into the IFE. Sadly these days I try for an aisle seat when traveling in coach. Most aircraft have a lot more range than I do.
Great video. Your energy in delivering the content made it that much more entertaining and enjoyable! It is arguably harder to review economy seats as there is much less to talk about. However you did it in a really nice way. Please continue reviewing your economy flight as most people watching you video will tend to book in this class. Thus honest review of the product is that more important!
I love seeing the economy reviews, because a good majority of your viewers I’m sure, fly economy typically. It’s be great to see a comparison of who has the best economy flights in the US.
Hello Jeb, great video. Your content is great, I enjoy your videos very much. It's good you and Suzanne were able to have the middle seat althought this was a short flight. I recently flew Delta ATL - JNB 16h economy flight and had 3 seats for me, it makes a big difference in economy long flights!
oooh you know what would be an interesting video, if you haven't already done one yet-- a video about first class AND economy class on the same flight. i know most couples/families don't travel that way, but it'd be interesting to see the differences and similarities between the two, service-wise at least.
I always bring water, snacks and eat a big meal before going to the airport. I normally go for a burrito or something heavy so I don't get hungry before I get to where I'm going. I also follow a similar rule for traveling on Amtrak , at least short distance trips.
I think if one is traveling alone, the best way to get an empty middle seat is to select a back row where the aisle or window seat is already booked. The middle seats in those rows fill last.
Window on anything below 2 hours travel time, isle for anything longer unless you know everyone in your row. Having to ask to get up to go to the bathroom doesn’t sit well with me lol
I think that is a good strategy. First I try to get us aisle seats in the same row. Then I use your strategy, should someone come for the middle seat they will likely switch with one of you so you can still sit together. I didn't like the own device thing at first but once you are aware, it does save a lot of weight for the airline along with repairs and gripes when one doesn't work.
I flew from CVG to PIE a few weeks ago. Had a 1st row seat originally but saw the surrounding seats filled up. Moved my seat back to 10C because I had empty seats on both side 2 rows in front and 2 rows behind me. Within 2 days of the flight all seats were filled. My theory of getting a row all to myself clearly didn't work. LOL Now on the flight up to CVG from PIE it did work.
Would love economy videos for each airline and plane type. They’re hard to find when I’m looking for them so I think it would give you a good spot for a lot of views. Especially on long hauls.
It doesn't really matter what you report on because I enjoy all your videos. I do prefer business/first class though because most other sites I watch feature economy. Your 1sy/b videos offer a change in pace and perspective. Mahalo from Hawai'i.
Absolutely more economy class. It’s what a majority of your watchers fly in. Would love to see an international long-haul flight in the regular economy. What can we expect from LAX to say London in regular economy.
Intersting on the max 9 I flew with united there is a bathroom in the middle... if I remember that correctly. Always crazy how quiet the new planes are
When we flew in the United max 9 it had a bathroom right in front of economy plus and it was very nice to have it there I was amazed as how quite of a plane it was
I carry a cheap decibel meter and the Max and the A321 neo are ~6db more quiet than the NG/CEO in take-off, climb and cruise, in the cabin. A pilot friend says the Max is significantly quieter that the NG in the cockpit, too. As a passenger, it's great, but I think the true benefit is for the cabin and flight crews and their long term hearing.
Jeb...Finally in Economy Class....Yes... Please do more such reviews particularly trans atlantic ones in european/Asian carriers...Thanks a lot for this one...loved it....
Boarding via the air stairs on a max? Lucky you! That's one time I would not want to pre-board. I'm visually impaired and I almost always pre-board but I would actually ask to not pre-board in a situation like that. Just so I could get a longer view of those massive engines and other ramp activities.
Thanks for another great video. Inflight entertainment for me is very simple lol. Other than listening to music on my phone and looking out the window at the views, i constantly watch my speedometer app. Ulysse speedometer pro is a speedometer app that uses GPS to monitor your speed and distance traveled. It even has an altimeter, average mph and Max mph. It works surprisingly well on airplanes. Only difficulty is when going through clouds while ascending or descending.
Jeb is the only guy I know that can fly to the Caribbean and have it rain, and while in Seattle it’s always sunny for him. Classic.

UA is doing a much better job now.
but the only problem is that they don't have inflight entertainment screen...the passenger has to stream shows from thier mobile or tablet
Good snacks? Biscoffs and pretzels? No
Nice content, Jeb!
I am glad to see that sitting strategy because I also use that when I am traveling with others
Fantastic video Jeb!😸
My wife and I always book aisle and window when we can. If someone shows up then you are no worse off than if you did middle and window, and if you do book middle/window then the aisle will fill up at a much greater rate than the middle will if you book aisle/window. If someone does show up, they will always agree to switch out of the middle seat. 100% guaranteed.
I love to watch you guys travelling together. Nice strategy to take the aisle and window seat, to keep the middle seat empty👍. When I travel in Economy, I make sure that I do have enough content on my IPad to watch some Movies or Series. Water and some snacks are also on my must have list.
flew on my first Max yesterday on United from CLE to EWR. It was very nice! SO smooth and powerful
Thanks for economy review! Also: The first four seasons of The West Wing is the best TV show ever.
I enjoy all of your videos no matter what type of seat. You always make it fun and interesting !
I prefer the business/first class flight videos. Everyone knows what economy is like. Love the videos! Thanks Jeb!
Btw that animation from your departure airport to the arrival airport is very good! Keep that in ;-) and thanks for your video on this
I think you should do more premium economy class videos.
I'm a fan of your making more Economy videos. For me, a travel pillow, a good book and a notebook and a pen are essentials for main cabin flights.
You guys are definitely couple goals!!
Great video, I quite like AA's economy product. I'd love to see you take AA Flagship Business and the new British Airways Club Suite.
Takes a special talent to make coach look fun. Thanks!!
Great content!
Yup
oooh you know what would be an interesting video, if you haven't already done one yet-- a video about first class AND economy class on the same flight. i know most couples/families don't travel that way, but it'd be interesting to see the differences and similarities between the two, service-wise at least.
SXM is iconic not because of the airport itself but because of the beach next to it, which makes for a famous planespotting area and approach.
Please center your device in the electronic seatback holder. It's driving those of us with OCD crazy 🤪
I don't fly that often, but whenever I travel, my Kindle tablet is with me, holding some downloaded videos, games, and of course, books.
Definitely +1 for more economy class videos (for us lowly peasant types who don't truly relate to $500+ one way tickets)
YES more videos like this
3:25 I use that stratify all the time. Works 9/10 times
I like your guys economy videos and would love to see more, as I fly economy the most, and would love to see what different airlines have to offer.
Would love economy videos for each airline and plane type. They’re hard to find when I’m looking for them so I think it would give you a good spot for a lot of views. Especially on long hauls.
Thanks for always being honest with your flight reviews.
I really enjoyed watching this video.
Keep it up.
Always crazy how quiet the new planes are
When we flew in the United max 9 it had a bathroom right in front of economy plus and it was very nice to have it there
I was amazed as how quite of a plane it was
I carry a cheap decibel meter and the Max and the A321 neo are ~6db more quiet than the NG/CEO in take-off, climb and cruise, in the cabin. A pilot friend says the Max is significantly quieter that the NG in the cockpit, too. As a passenger, it's great, but I think the true benefit is for the cabin and flight crews and their long term hearing.
@@aptadpamu Agreed. I just got a new job flying the NG & MAX and on my first actual MAX flight I was astonished how quiet it was.
I like all Videos. For me, a well balanced mix between Economy and business/First is the most enjoyable
Jeb...Finally in Economy Class....Yes... Please do more such reviews particularly trans atlantic ones in european/Asian carriers...Thanks a lot for this one...loved it....
The last time I was on a really long flight without an iPad I read a Bill Bryson book. He is informative and engaging.
