High hopes after a 2-hour meeting between student protesters and University of Toronto administrators on day 11 of the encampment. Tina Yazdani reports.
The administrators need to be dismissed for bowing to extortionists. Time for that proffessional student who has spent eight plus years at UofT to move on.
And to the one that said they will relinquish all ties, that would mean you are no longer an alumni? So if you have no ties to the U of T I guess that would mean you have no business with the university, and you will be moving on. Also, I hope that when this is all done, all these ones will not be looking for references from the school. Can't get far in the real world without some degree, and marks.
Tearing up one's uni degree at one's graduating ceremony is an absolutely disgraceful display that disrespects one's professors, the Dean, one's faculty and one's parents if they paid for your degree, and one self who put the work into the degree. It is by know means appropriate behaviour.
Message to the U of A community: Update on encampment - May 12 "Yesterday, approximately 500 people peacefully gathered in the Quad to protest the ongoing conflict in Gaza and demand a ceasefire. They were welcomed on our campus and all peaceful protesters who comply with university policies will continue to be welcomed."
@@xv2ut Backup your point. How is Israel supporting apartheid? How is it occupying Palestinian land? Police. Remove. If needed arrest/deport. Take your problems back to your old country and stop making them our problems. There is a proper way to protest in Canada, this is not that way. Russia has waged an awful war on Ukraine for 2+ years and we don't see Ukrainians behaving this way.

I went to university with students who took ten years to get a BA degree. They are usually people who get suspended for semester or a year for poor grades.
Despite the cencorship, doxxing, anti protest propaganda, and terrorism by JDL / ADL thugs for those who speak out, I am very proud of these students for taking a stance for what is right.
It’s insane how terrified they are of students speaking up against a genocide and what lengths they will go to silence them and hurt their futures. Why does the ADL want to control the narrative so much ? Mainstream media is already biased in their favour.

I don't think tearing up your degree hurts the university much. But be sure to take your degree off your resume.

Never see these people waving Canada flags on Canada Day.
You likely won't.
coz they were also complicit? do you know how canada became canada?
Not a great look for U of T entertaining the demands of criminals. Simple solution here; the encampment is illegal so call in Toronto’s finest 👮♂️
protesting is illegal? funny all these free speech conservatives are so down with putting kids in jail for protesting a genocide

Shame As Canadians we should support the hostages not the terrorists who kidnap them.
Is Israel a terrorist state? They took 7,000 hostages prior to Oct.07.
Shame as Canadians we shouldn't blindly support occupation and apartheid for decades.

By the looks of some of them they graduated in the ‘70s.
