    Great tutorial! I love the look of the Maxton diffuser the most, but I cant believe how they can charge the price they do and not even bother to properly replicate the OEM tabs and cutouts for the reflectors. Minimal effort for them and they reap maximum profit.

    Great tutorial mate, installing this on my own m140i next week and it’s been super helpful!

    How do they make it SO hard? I got a splitter £100 from Ebay. The tabs had the correct clips, it was a perfect fit, with the reflectors going in perfectly as well. What a load of shite

    Great video, thinking of installing it on my own. Question: what about the rear tow hook? I see it's covered by the diffuser. Is it there a workaround in case in need to tow my car from the rear? thanks mate!

      Cheers mate, so I was actually thinking about this the other day, unfortunately, it’s a bumper off jobby to tow from the rear, I guess the only time you’ll need to do that though, it’s not going to be a good situation anyway if that makes sense 😅😂

      The car is strapped from the rear frame, so I guess that would be the solution. But I agree with you, if we ever need that, it's not going to be a happy situation.

      @@arjonsson1282 so can the diffusor be installed if there is a rear tow hook? I'm thinking of getting one but not sure if it will fit

      Hi mate, if you push slightly on mine it does touch the exhaust silencer yes, I have been meaning to put a little rubber u trim on the area but it only annoys me when I wash it 😂

    How you have locked long Tabs from the diffusor behind the bumper?

    • @5501pickopicko
      @5501pickopicko  Год назад +1

      I locked them in place using rivets in the end mate, the tail of the rivet tight up against the bumper of that makes sense to secure the diffuser in place.

    Do i have to take off the bumper? Also do i have to bend all the tabs using a heatgun? i dont trust myself to do that x.x

    • @5501pickopicko
      @5501pickopicko  Год назад

      Ideally yes, it is doable with it on but it’s very tight up there, I didn’t use the heat gun method in the end, I used the self tapping 8mm head tek screw/bolt type fixings, they seemed to hold much better, the plastic is very tough (which is a good thing I guess) but makes it super hard to fold down the tabs)

    • @impairsosa2663
      @impairsosa2663 Год назад

      @5501pickopicko alright so just to confirm firm I don't have to use the heat gun to bend anything I can just screw it

    • @5501pickopicko
      @5501pickopicko  Год назад

      Yeah you can do it all with tek screws mate 👌

    Thanks a lot for posting your work but honestly, this is such a lousy design from Maxton in regards to the the fitting. They couldn't be arsed to add the correct holes, cuts and tips for it to be a direct swap? I would expect/accept this from a no-name Chinese 50$ diffuser not something designed by a brand name house and supposedly designed for this particular car.
    In fact lesser known diffusers do come with the correct tabs...

      @@cagatay-pg2pp I highly doubt it mate, it hasn’t effected anything on mine anyway, it still beeps the same at the same distances. The diffuser is out of the window of sensing of the sensors anyway.
