While here we'll bring you along crabbing and clamming, hiking at Cape Lookout, exploring Tillamook Air Museum, and even go riding on the dunes to see for ourselves the holiday weekend scene. Great idea about the “Hipcamp” especially during a holiday period.
    That hike up the coast looked hard, tree roots! Dale looked a little too close to the edge.
    The sand dunes looked way too crowded, but expected.
    Tillamock cheese!!!
    Never did the air museum, but that last aircraft looked interesting.
    Thanks for sharing!

      Thank you very much! We had fun crabbing even if nothing walked into the pot. Hipcamp is a great resource when you can't find anything else, or in a case like this where you want to stay away from the crowds in campgrounds.

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  Год назад +1

      It sure did, Pete! This is our third time using Hipcamp -- once when we hit an intense heat wave and couldn't find an open electrical site in a traditional RV park anywhere in the entire state of Montana (and found a Hipcamp with 50A service ruclips.net/video/td_T3uGfFKI/видео.html ). The other time we weren't finding many campgrounds in the area of Down East NC we wanted to visit, and the Hipcamp we found there was just too amazing a spot to ignore, right on the ocean ruclips.net/video/y-gqKFBAb_E/видео.html .
      Hipcamp has turned out to be a terrific fallback option, and it's just what came to mind when we were figuring out how to avoid July 4th holiday weekend crowds and full-up campgrounds. We have no business relationship with them whatsoever, other than being a satisfied customer.

    Love this series. My fav area, bc my dog loves the ocean beaches. Thanks for sharing the hipcamp spot. I added it to my library of spots, bc there just are not enough good spots to camp in the Tillamook area for my size rig or just because there is never a spot vacant.

    Ha! a wise man once told me that you go "fishing" if you wanted to keep what you fish for, it would be called "catching".
    That military hangar was pretty awesome. Speak to human ingenuity back in the day. Have you thought of attending the hot air baloon festival in new mexico? I saw mortons on the move video and it is one heck of a thing!

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  9 месяцев назад

      So true. I wonder what they call "repeatedly losing lures"?? 😁
      The size of that hangar was difficult to convey on film. It's positively gargantuan.
      I'm torn on the whole ABQ hot air balloon fest thing. I'd love to see it, but I'm not a fan of massive crowds, either. Additionally, getting a spot requires quite a bit of advance planning, something we're admittedly not good at. Nevertheless, someday I'm sure we'll be there.

    Hey Marc, great video as always. I’ve had my 5th wheel up and down the Oregon coast numerous times and it never gets old.
    I noticed you’re hauling your kayak without the T-bar you were originally using. Am I seeing this right on your video and are you also not using the T-bar when you’re hooked up to your 5th wheel.

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  Год назад

      Thanks Rick! You're correct. While the T-rack was absolutely necessary with our Toyota Tundra, the cab length and bed length in our new F-350 long bed crew cab provides sufficient crossbar spread to balance and support the kayak far enough forward from the fifth wheel's front cap, without needing the T -- even though this Eddyline Fathom is 18" longer than our Necky Looksha was.
