- I found this old two shot swivel barrel derringer handgun in the scrap pile, I had to save it and it was rusted solid, took me a few hours to get it broke loose, made new wood grips for it and a firing spring return out of a big sewing needle I broke and bent, but it came out good enough for not having all the rights tools, just working with what I have,a bunch of free stuff out of the trash,if you enjoyed watching, then join the team and support the channel with a like, comment and Subscribe and if you would like to donate, links in my bio, thanks 🤝
The original information I found about this handgun.
AMERICAN ARMS COMPANY.
PERCUSSION SWIVEL BREECH .36 CAL. DOUBLE BARREL DERRINGER CIRCA 1960’S. 7” overall with 3” smoothbore barrels. Chrome plated overall with plastic pearl grips. Completely unmarked and un-numbered but of fine quality workmanship and in near mint condition. Perfect working order. Made in the style of the original 1860’s-70’s cartridge swivel breech Deringers of the American Arms Company of Boston, Mass.
It's nice to see a good gunsmith at work. Excellent work.
nice work man well done !!
Thanks, I appreciate you.
WOW THATS WAS SOLID GOOD JOB
Thanks! 🙏🏼
only has 1 firing pin! So technically i think you spin the barrell to fire 2nd round! Revolver, i guess!
Я думаю, працює лапотний, руки із гузна і інструментарій з гаража діда Івана.
А каналы стволов чистить ненадо ?
a very rare American Arms Co. Deringer nach Wheeler Patent von ca. 1866
@@wolfstephan142 close by a few years off,it's a 1970s replica
There's a derringer called Sport Arms Miami Fl .22 caliber. I see them now and then on the online gun auctions. That's how I ended up on this video-to see what I could find out about them. The one I'm looking at now claims to be an antique, but it looks like grainy pot metal city.
is it fireable or just a fancy wallhanger?
@@revvanmev2885 haven't tried,it's a .36 round and I plan to put sleeves in it for .22 and fix the hammer point with a little weld and reshape so it strikes good, but for now it's just a display piece,👌🏼
@@LostinRestoration39 do you primarily restore old guns on this channel or a bunch of other stuff too?
@revvanmev2885 Just anything I end up with
Qu'est-ce que c'est que bricoleur ? Faut surtout pas lui confier une arme de grande valeur . Je sais de quoi je parle, cela a été mon métier !
This is clearly not a revolver,by definition,a revolver,as the name indicates has a revolving chamber where the bullets are loaded.
Not antique. Think they still make them. It's.36 cal. Smoothbore but sometimes people make em into a .22 cartridge gun
Yes, I was thinking about sleeving it for .22 shorts, because .36 is a bit of a rare round, plus I have a lot of.22 shorts already
@LostinRestoration39 they point the hammer and sleeve the barrel typically
@@agoogleaccount2861 ya the hammer point is worn down, so I have to put a tack of weld on it and file it to shape and ya it already has a hardened sleeve in it for .36 cal, I was just going to get .22 sleeve or make my own by heating it red hot and install it,then quench it and then run a good machinist hone bit through it, to true it up of any warping, but that will be later on down the road when I get the right tools,as I'm very limited on at the moment.
@LostinRestoration39 the barrel in that is just a square block bored out to .36 and it's not particularly hard there's no rifling . usually a 3/8 outside diameter barrel liner is used ..a3/8 drill bit cleans it out and bores through the back of the cap and ball barrel
Un Derringer no es un rebolver ...¿no se donde ves un tambor de giro!???...a mi entender es una pistola de dos tiros .
abraham lincoln was killed with a derringer
A revolver it aint
Топорные руки и топливная работа
LOL. WTF is a "double barrel revolver"???
Is not a revolver!
Load of crap
Yes it did kinda resembled one before, but better now
Бред....
