We all know perception is all in one's mind, so the saying goes no one loves a police officer or soldier until the enemy is at the gate.

One of the big complaints civilians have with police external vests is that it makes the police look "too militaristic."

EDC_ DADD a lot of department supervisors don’t like the all molle style, so the compromise is pockets and insignia on the top

With all the things officers carry and you want to put it on your vest creates worse back problems and balance problems too. Honestly the vest should remain under the uniform shirt it looks unprofessional and tacky

Nah it looks great. Putting it on your vest takes the weight off your belt and puts it on your shoulders.

Most main brand vests like these nowadays have an internal suspension system to mitigate this, just like how belt suspenders do the same thing. The advantage of the vest doing this, unlike a belt, is that the gear attachment system won't dig into your hips overtime and create pressure/pain where it shouldn't be.
