Simply amazing. Holy Moses these ladies are bloody fantastic. They don't like the blues, they are the blues. Very tight, very tight. LUV THEM ALL. Old hippie, Cape Town.
Use to hear these great blues ladies, plus Lou Ann, fairly regularly at old Antone's on Guadalupe. The best, other than Janis, and Big Mama, of course.
Seminal performance. Bestest ever interpretation of this Ike and Tina tune. Sweet and powerful. Thanks girls. Transcendent and wonderful. Powerful loving sincere gal art accomplished by superior musicians skilled at appropriate interpretation. A real treat.
Oh, I have heard this whole group of people doing this song a good many times in the 8o's at Antone's. Even better when Lou Ann Barton is on stage with them. Always have enjoyed Marcia Ball playing and singing. I remember hearing Larry Monroe talk about Marcia Ball being the first act on the very first Austin City limits show.
I bought this DVD for my Dad about 5 yrs ago. He loved music and probably watched it 1000 times when Alzheimer's hit him. I can't find the DVD so tried to buy it again, now it's $588! And there are only 2 of them and they ship from overseas. I know it was filmed in Germany but wow, that's a big amount to pay for a DVD. I think I bought it on Amazon for $15 but they said they only had 2 left. Should have ordered 2!
