YES! Great job Mystery! I can't get over how clean this coupe is, the job you did on the swap the bay looks like oem corrado slc. Super OEM+ build, put the Mystery stamp on this one its CLEAN!
Good to see the build of this Mk2 Jetta VR6 is done, I will miss this car on channel. Thanks for taking us along for this build even though it was a customer's car instead one of your VW's. Thanks explaining parts and costs when it comes to changing engines a project car. l will be doing a different engine in a Mk1 Scirocco I bought recently not a VR6, going from a 1.6 8v to a modified 16v. Looking forward to the next project on this channel.
@@Continental719 it ended up costing me around 8k CAD, but I also put Corrado brakes, mk3 fuel tank and hydro clutch conversion in as well as rebuilding the engine.
@@LithiuM230 nice. I just recently purchased the Fabless VR 02M swap kit. I took the engine wire harness off the motor. I want to strip my motor down and send it to a machine shop to get rebuilt. I have to find 02M axles for the tranny
Awesome to see it running! I'll be posting the video of the engine rebuild in a few weeks. The engine did get a mostly full rebuild. New rings, hone, rod bearings, bolts, fresh paint.
Agree on everything you said!! That engine is so iconic, pulls so well. 3rd gear pulls while merging in the freeway were my fave thing to do when I had one.
As an owner of 2 - Mk2 VR6s I can attest that they are a blast to drive. I think once you Add all the plumbing and turbo to a 1.8t, I don't think there's that much of a weight difference between it and a VR. And let's face it, not many cars have an exhaust note as nice a VR6. Great work R. What's next for the Mystery Garage!?!
Doing a swap or serious upgrades never comes cheap if you want to do it correct and make it reliable, good video with realistic cost projection.👍 Done a swap&turbo conversion on my own car, didn't came cheap but it has been very reliable for 6 years and 30.000 Km now.
Great build! Super clean! Yes I love the VR6, Got a MK3 GTI full bolt ons such a fun car to drive but the sound is amazing!! I’m gonna be swapping a VR6 into my MK2 GTI I’m looking for a complete donor car at the moment, A complete donor and proper motor mount swap kit should make things a bit easier. That fabless swap kit looks solid!
I see its monsoon season where you are now too, 🙈 car sounds great and is the complete turn key package. You should be very proud of yourself man 😁 i have a 97 VR6 on the drive awaiting some welding, it may end up donating its innards to my 8v mk2 😂
NIce work!!! Could you please give me your knowlwdge where i can find the the upper rubber part seals of the right/left windows? Greetings from Greece-Tripoli
Great videos! I have seen your MK1 has the MSD ignition. Would you recommend it also for a n/a VR6 12V to upgrade to MSD ignition? Greetings from germany.
I'm loving the content all the way from South Africa. Been following every episode. I want to do a VR6 swap on my Audi A3 2.0tdi (2007 8P BKD model) any advice?
I really love your work and attention to detail! I would like to take on this project I own a 1985 mk2 gti and I recently found a donor 1998 Jetta GLS. Is this a good downer car? I would really appreciate your help and input.
Sorry owner sold the package quite a while back now, basically the day I pulled it, it was taken away!! Appreciate it though! Good luck with your build and thanks for watching and all the support! Cheers
Hahaha I have no idea, never owned a car or a cluster that far into its life, but it would make sense consider I can’t seem to fathom finding a mk3 cluster with only 28k total kms now in today’s day and age. So basically it would be a 328k cluster? I would have to agree but you probably know more than I do on that hahaha, I didn’t know that was a thing. Cheers! Thanks for watching and all the support!!
Hey, buddy Dismiss a customer's car. How much are you charging? This guy cause. I am about to start a project like this for someone. But I don't know how much I should charge him
Yep that's exactly how much I tell people 5K-10K. Good Stuff as always!
Mine response is usually "How long is a piece of string?".
Lol very true…

The VR swap cars on FB Marketplace are usually the exact opposite of this car. Great job bro. Keep it up.
Why has nobody commented on this mans video yet? Love the stuff...keep it up!
Hahahahaha 🙏 appreciate it so much!! Thanks for watching and all the support! Cheers
Can’t wait to pick it up later today!! You did an awesome job on it! 👌
I have a Mk2 GLI. I am looking to put a 3.2L with 02m 6sp transmission. How much does it cost to do a swap? Where did you get your motor rebuilt?

@LithiuM230 8k! That sounds like a really good deal. That's inspiring me to do a project like this
Your insight is great.
I've never seen wipers work that well in an old VW.
Turned out awesome man!!! I miss my old VR.

VR6 will forever be my favorite motor, great job on the swap man!

Awesome build. I have never seen a 2 door mk2 jetta. Looks nice. From watching the driving video, does the front springs seem a bit soft?
Sideways steering wheel. While driving straight. Fix that !! 🤣
Awesome!
Do maybe Jetta coupe and Golf MKII share the same headliner?
No
Where is the dream build project the red mk1 golf

Would you sell the 1.6 diesel turbo for my MK1 Rabbit pick up

Dont mk3 clusters say "total" on them till 299 999km then reset and the total goes away?
