- My tribute to one of my biggest musical influences, Brian Travers, saxophonist and songwriter of UB40. Words can’t express how inspirational Brian Travers has been to me and my outlook on creativity ever since I was a little kid. It started from finding the self titled UB40 cassette tape in my parents car with parts of the tape hanging out of it, fixing it up and putting it on, being blown away by such quirky and soulful melodies and rhythms. I’ve been a huge fan ever since. To celebrate the life and work of Brian Travers, i’ve done a medley performance of some of my favorite saxophone melodies from his 40 years of music. These songs and albums have had such an impact on me wanting to become a musician and continue to inspire and motivate me to this day. Rest In Peace Brian Travers. Thank you for the love and inspiration you’ve left on this earth through your art.

I met Brian a few times and even went to his home in Birmingham in the very early UB40 days lovely lovely guy miss him one of kind I was also best man at his cousins (Steve) wedding god bless them both 😎

This is just beautiful. I'm an old guy, 69, so have listened to UB40 their entire career. I appreciate this so much. I love a young man can go back and cover Brian's career like this. Great job👍🏽
I’m glad you found beauty in the piece! Brian’s music had always brought me great joy and peace since I was a kid, it’s only fitting that I celebrate his career and all the beauty he’s shown through it!

I had goosebumps from start to finish and same the 2nd & 3rd time...in fact every time I listen to it....can hear the feel...the licks. ...the arrangements......the great man would be loving this and be proud!!
Thank you. One thing I’ve learned from listening to and learning Brian’s melodies is that you can really let out the deepest emotions through a saxophone. When you listen to a sax being played, you can feel every breath and every bit of hesitation, which is why there are so many layers to Brian’s playing. He’s always put his soul into it so beautifully, and that’s something I’ll always take away from the way he crafted his art!
This is a fantastic tribute to the late great Brian Travers. I'm sure he would've been proud of this. I never got to meet the man himself but I've met his children (Jamie & Lisa). RIP Bri.

I know the feeling! BT was the reason I started playing as well. When I first got my sax, I was speeding home and the first thing I (tried to) play when I got home was Adella. I named my sax after the song. I always wished I could play with him and learn from him too!

I just want to highlight to anyone dropping by. In light of this magical video , Aaron travelled all the way to Birmingham UK to attend the Brian Travers Memorial at Brian's favourite pub The Hare & Hounds. Aaron performed this medley , Adella and joined my tribute band Signing Off for our 2nd set. It was an emotional night and a couple of UB40 members were also in attendance along with other artists, Hunters and Winston Francis.
What a journey to pay tribute to your influence.👊
It was such an honor to give back and celebrate the love Brian had continuously given through his music. And very grateful to have met you and everyone over in the UK, definitely made some great friends there and can’t wait to visit again. Hope we can find a time to jam again when I do!

Listening to this, makes you realize how influential Brian Travers on saxophone was for the whole of UB40s music, with or without Ali's golden voice. Brilliant young man, if Brian could hear this he'll be very proud. Absolutely fantastic. Tear in my eye listening to this. Respect.
Thank you so much! I agree, Brian’s sax played as much of a lead role in the sound of the band as the lead singers. His feel and melodic choices were a huge part of what made the band distinct

Very sad news about Astro’s passing. So soon after Brian too which was just so hard to believe that we’d lost two members of ub40’s legacy in one year. What a wonderful emotional tribute to a special man. A lot of work has gone into this video. Great selection of songs chosen too, The Pillow certainly in my top five UB40 tracks with that juxtaposition of catchy upbeat track alongside the haunting lyrics. Thank you for sharing, superb job.

That sure would be a dream come true! Even to sit in on one of their rehearsals would be an amazing experience. Always dreamt that I could just be a fly on the wall and watch the band rehearse with Brian included and just learn from him
