Now Floor is in the band and Tuomas can write whatever the fuck he wants, he knows Floor can sing it. No disrespect for the previous singers, but they say third time's a charm for a reason.

Yes.. and she stepped in Anette's boots finishing Imaginaerium, this album had to be "an in-between Anette and Floor" They brought in a cannon. as in Floor.. so, I do expect Tuomas will push and dig in Floor's talents, theatrics and ovice technique to make it sound like one other Nightwish Album that will stand out on its own..
That is an understatement! I am 63 year old hard rock/heavy metal fan from back when I was 8 years old listening to Jimmy Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Steppenwolf, Black Sabbath with Ozzy! What Nightwish has now with Floor Jansen puts them into their own category.
Floor Jansen is the lead singer that was always meant to be in Nightwish. The missing piece of the puzzle that now completes it to it's full potential. I look forward to many more shows.
I have to disagree here. There was never anything missing with Tarja back in the day, the band was absolutely perfect at that stage, but Floor is STILL an absolutely incredible singer for Nightwish and I couldn't think of anyone better right now!

It's hard to believe that someone so talented, so hard-working, so attuned to excellence, could ever feel so insecure. Mental health is such an important area and we're not very good at it. There's a lesson there for all of us. Never make negative life-altering decisions when you're down. I'm so glad Floor is back on stage and giving it her all. She's a gem and the Nightwish guys are very lucky to have her in the band. Great to hear that they are mutually supportive. I look forward to many more great tracks.
Some of the most amazing musicians/singers are actually some of the most shy and bashful people. Being on stage and being in their own element allows them to escape what troubles or burdens them in normal everyday life.
Look no further than Robin Williams, may he rest in peace. Def one of the funniest men in the world, and look at all the trouble that he had going on inside his head :(

She sings parts her predecessors wouldn't do live, she (or rather said: they) added amazing parts to songs (the end of GLS, the wail in Romanticide)... I'm Dutch, not a metal fan at all but somehow I'm hooked on NW.
Floor- I'm 50 years old. I've heard a lot of bands, and a lot of vocals in my day. "No one" is comparable. You (and Marco), and the rest of the band literally bring joyous emotion to me. I didn't feel that way with Tarja, or Anette. You M'dear..."complete" this band, it's sound and presence. I wasn't always a Nightwish fan. "You" your talent, your range, your ability to get "me" to understand the intricacies of the music. ...that was what made me a full fledged fan.
Agreed, it is likely the songs, as they are composed, but Floors vocals often bring me to tears. Only one other band ever did that to me and that was a long time ago and oddly enough, their songs were very symphonic with strong messages in them.
Honestly, up to this point, only Sharon Adel could get me to feel...anything...in music. My favorite concert was Black Symphony in 2008 (seriously, go check it out), and Sharon's voice was...haunting...to say the least. And at a time when I was angry over life, Truth Beneath the Rose helped calm me down. Fast forward five years: It has been at least 20 years since my grandmother's death -- and Floor Jansen was the first woman I've heard sing that could hit me in the feels and make me shed a tear. Not just GLS, but Ever Dream, and 7 Days to the Wolves. All of this is music that I'd not previously heard -- and my first thought hearing Floor at Wacken 2013 was: "Who is this woman, part devil with an angelic voice, who has made me feel again? Where on Earth did she emerge from?" Learning about Floor, and to a larger extent, Nightwish, Tuomas, and Jukka (because insomnia and loving his drumwork), it made me realize: While money makes the world go 'round, music from Nightwish makes life worth living.
Thank you, Floor you have given us so much. I was in a very dark place after 3 tours of combat, I'd lost friends and family, and then my 18 yr old daughter died. So I was truly lost, suicide was ever-present in my thoughts. I did not seek help until I retired from the service, I had turned to heavy drinking and destructive behavior. The day came I accepted I needed help, the first day I went to the V.A to start therapy, the staff was listening to your music. I cannot explain it, I was lost in the pain you could drain from me. I broke right there and then, all the anguish of the past 20 years came flowing out. I wasn't cured, but I don't think without hearing your angelic voice I'd ever gotten to where I am 8 years later. To say you save my life, the life of someone you'll never know isn't an exaggeration. This is why I only refer to you as my own personal Goddess. When the anxiety builds, the panic attacks set upon me, I turn on your music (video if I'm home) and let you pull it out of me. I am forever in your debt, a man you'll never know and yet you saved. I wish only the best in this life for you and others like you. You give so much and ask us for so little in return. When you sing, heaven weeps for there's no angel that can match your voice. You introduce envy to the heavens while healing so many. Your music has helped countless veterans, all of us owe you a debt that cannot be repaid.
In my eyes, ears and my soul, Floor is THE BEST singer of ALL TIME, like in the history of mankind. Male or Female doesn't matter. She's just out of this world, out of this universe. No one else so far managed to deliver such emotions through singing to the point where i can just stay in awe and tear up like a child along with goosebumps all over the body and shivers down the spine, all at the same time. I'm so glad to be living in the same time with her and be able to listen to that godly voice. Cos that's what she is - a Goddess.
Hah, that's a bit exaggerated, lol... But I Love her too! As I wasn't a huge NW fan (only knew a couple old songs with Tarja) I didn't even know who is the current NW singer. I discovered Floor in Beste Zangers show and already fell in love. Then I watched Ghost Love Score and some more, including many reactions, and just got my mind blown away.
I never really cared a lot for vocals in music as I preferred instrumental surf, metal, jazz, classical and film scores. That all changed when I saw Nightwish GLS with Floor. I never got goose bumps before from music, but with Floor it happens without fail. Her vocal ability is remarkable and she is always on point.
So I think the componist from Nightwish is a very ambitious and perfectionist guy and with Floor he found the perfect singer. I would call it synergy. Floor is one hell of a woman.
Well done for being so open and honest Floor about your burnout. I have worked in mental health for 43 years and many people never tell their family, friends, or colleagues that they have a problem, or that they have received help. It is only once we have acknowledged that we have a problem, and accept help, that we can move forward. We all need to spend more time relaxing, mindfully doing the things we enjoy (including listening to music) and appreciating our home, jobs, family, friends and the natural world 👍💚🥳
Both NW en Floor went trough al lot. They are at a point where they don't take succes and artistic chemistry for granted. They cherish what they have together. That is what you can see and feel on stage when they are performing. No ego's but a team making great en epic music.

What a beautiful and humble soul! Nightwish has no doubt grown in popularity because of her talent, her presence, and her personality. Who wouldn't want to be in a band with someone like Floor!
The union of Floor Jansen and Nightwish was perfectly symbiotic. It was like two burnt-out phoenixes helping each other rise from the ashes to be greater than they were before. I mean, she was pretty great before so that's saying a lot.
All I can say is thank you Nightwish for requesting Floor and THANK YOU Floor, for summoning the courage to sing again. I had no idea someone with such talent could ever have confidence problems, but we're all human. I have observed your FB page group and some videos you put up, and I have to say, there is no shortage of people out there who love you. I honestly didn't know Nightwish until a few months ago. I found that little song, um, Ghost love Score, and I was hooked deep. It is the only song that has brought me to tears. Floor, you are truly a gift and you and the band deserve all the credit and accolades you receive. You guys are utterly amazing together. I am forever a Floor Jansen fan, you seem so humble, and I just found a new to me favorite genre of music thanks to Nightwish. Thank you, all of you. Your songs never get old by the way because It's always a blessing to hear such a beautiful voice, I never tire of it.
wow, I have just found this. Such an incredible talent as Floor questioning herself whether or not she should stay a singer is like the Sun asking whether or not to rise and shine tomorrow... I am really glad that she pulled through.
I saw the opening performance for the Imaginaerum world tour with Annette in LA, had a great time. I wasn't keeping up with the current news of the band when I went to go see them later in the same tour in San Diego. I'd known about Floor from After Forever, and when Floor came out at that show I was all "Holyshit, it's Floor". This was before she was officially a part of the band, just filling in, and I could tell then that there was great camaraderie, chemistry, and respect between her and the band.
I love you so much Floor!!! I’ve been a huge Nightwish fan for the last 20 years, and sincerely loved both Tarja and Annette, but YOU ARE NIGHTWISH!!!!! Your voice combines the best of Tarja and Annette and brings it home into this breathtaking beauty that is Floor!!!!!!

Awesome! Floor is the greatest! I just wish there was more quality videos from the past with After Forever. The Ghost Love Floor from the Beunos Aires sounds amazing, but if it had been recorded in the same quality as the DVD one...That would have been ultimate.
For me, her Ghost Love Score version is the best ever (especially Buenos Aires)! Tarja could not bring that huge bunch of emotion into her vocal lines in that one. And as much as I loved Anette, Ghost Love Score didn't suit her vocal abilities at all (listen to her appearance in 'Heart Full of Fire', THAT'S her style. The solo album is pretty good, too). Floor just nails that one, so amazing.
What your say is so true. I can't get tired of listening to Ghost love Score, and that performance in Buenos Aires is the best. Then she arranged it different, and in Wacken 2013 is almost as good as B . A. I'm about to enjoy their concert in Buenos Aires, the last day of september... let's see how it sounds there, now in 2018.
Allan Sandoval I enjoyed very much that concert. The sound was a little bit bad, it was a small, closed stadium. A basketball court. The show was amazing, specially for the band giving all in those two hours of show. And the energy between them and the audience was great. I couldn't believe my eyes that Floor Jansen and Nightwish were a few meters away from me.

I think the real thing that elevated Nightwish is that Floor gave Tuomas and entirely new expanded pallet of colors with which to compose. He has grown as a composer since she joined, her "brothers-in-arms," as she calls them, have improved as musicians, because she has elevated them all by raising the level of her performance. They made her better, she makes them better ... and look what has happened. They are the premiere band in the world as far as technicality, composition and they are growing in popularity daily. I have over ten people who I've turned on to Nightwish in the past month. I'm taking a friend to their October 2nd show In Los Angeles, and he's pumped. I bought several of their albums in the beginning, but Tarja was just too much for me. I'm not a fan of opera and to my ear, she was like a hammer hitting an anvil. I listened to the select songs that I liked, but I didn't buy any more albums and I didn't pay attention. Now I own them all, plus all the DVDs ... they are at the top of my playlist rotation and I watch their songs on RUclips every day. That would not have happened without Floor. I get where the Tarja fans are coming from ... They liked what she brought, the heavier, darker sound - I just didn't. I generally dislike when my bands change to more commercially accessible music, as I feel the more popular the music, the less value it has. The public, in general, doesn't like entertainment that challenges them to think - they want something that plays in the background while the run the vacuum or cook dinner. I want something that broadens my mind - and Nightwish is most proficient at that. Thank you, Tuomas; thank you, Floor; thank you Marko, Emppu, Troy, and Kai. You are in my heart.
To me floor is the most complete vocalist ive heard in my entire life , her voice moves me every single time i hear her live performances thank the gods im alive to witness the magic that is floor !!!!
Michael: Time to let Tarja go. She was planning to leave NW anyway but the band sacked her before she would leave for some heavy reasons. It was really complicated situation of which nobody liked. But bygones are bygones. Let's just enjoy what we have now and keep looking foward.
@@Cazimie Well, Floor can sing operatic but most of the time she chooses not to. Anyway, she often mixes her chest voice and head voice which is pretty amazing and hard to do as many vocal coaches will tell you. Also, someone wrote earlier that NW don't even want to do this style any more, they are evolving, changing over time which is not necessarily a negative thing.
I gotta be honest: I cried when she talked about how the Fans, the Band and the Management said that she fits perfectly and she felt the same Way. And im a grown ass man :D Please stay together as you are. OK Jukka is really sad he had to leave with his Insomnia but he is with the band in the Background as i understand. No. 1 Favourite Band of all time by far! Nightwish till i die
A reminder that even the greats feel the pressure and Floor is great, with pitch, tone, power and range that I thought didn't exist anymore. She has single handedly restored my faith in people to make real music.
Floor have a beautiful heart and soul! I love so much this woman. Her voice, sing, performance, femininity, presence, style... all of them! I really hope Floor will singing for so many years for us (with or without Nightwish). Floor totally deserve every support, love, appreciation and respect. I hope one day I meet with her and we can talk a little bit (and thank her for everything includes the After Forever/ReVamp era).
A couple of yrs. ago I told a friend of mine about NWish - And he had actually fulfilled an assingment to flim them! I am an older not-so-metalish person who thinks that they are fantastic! Real music, real melody lines, real chemistry and real great performances! Next time in Colorado we hope they ALL can have good health! Please come back sometime!!!
So, Floor has not only regained her powers, but quickly improved them to the hyperstar-like state. And the band has undergone a similar process to achieve a new level of epicness.

Love to see how real she is and open about herself and her struggles on that personal level, makes me love her even more! She may be mortal, but her voice and talent is on a level even the mightiest gods cant level with! There is few people in the world that can touch me like her voice can, Music is truly a magical thing! And even the word "Magic" isnt enough to describe how insanely good the wacken 2013 performance was, especially Ghost Love Score! I burst into tears every time i listen to it, So Powerful! The feeling from the music, the electric air around the band and movement of the audience and the band itself along with Floors vocals, the orchestra the drums the base the guitars and Floor's extremely commanding prescence on the stage all compounds to something of legendary proportions! A performance like the WoA 2013 a performance a band do once in a lifetime, IF they are lucky! Floor Jansen, you deserve all the fortune coming your way, and Nightwish aswell! For a legacy like this, is something not many bands will achieve!
Her testimony makes me like even more Nightwish. They provided the emotional support she needed, in return, she blossom their craft into masterpiece. It is great to know they behave as a family among them, supporting each other
I loved nightwish with tarja. Hated it with Annette. I’ve always loved floor. When I learned she’d joined nightwish I was overjoyed. And she made my favorite song even better (ghost love score). I still love Tarja, but floor is just meant to be in this band, she can sing anything
Miss Floor Jansen got me to get back into Nightwish after Annette, before I heard her on ghost love score I said, new singer she's got a lot of shoes to fill and then I heard her well she brought her own shoes, amazing talent amazing vocal range huge present on stage what more do you want in a singer I do believe that there is more to come for this young lady

"No one" is comparable.
You (and Marco), and the rest of the band literally bring joyous emotion to me.
I didn't feel that way with Tarja, or Anette.
You M'dear..."complete" this band, it's sound and presence.
I wasn't always a Nightwish fan.
"You" your talent, your range, your ability to get "me" to understand the intricacies of the music. ...that was what made me a full fledged fan.
Agreed, it is likely the songs, as they are composed, but Floors vocals often bring me to tears. Only one other band ever did that to me and that was a long time ago and oddly enough, their songs were very symphonic with strong messages in them.
Floor was born 1981. She isn't 50yrs old. In 2019 she is 38...

Honestly, up to this point, only Sharon Adel could get me to feel...anything...in music. My favorite concert was Black Symphony in 2008 (seriously, go check it out), and Sharon's voice was...haunting...to say the least. And at a time when I was angry over life, Truth Beneath the Rose helped calm me down.
Fast forward five years: It has been at least 20 years since my grandmother's death -- and Floor Jansen was the first woman I've heard sing that could hit me in the feels and make me shed a tear. Not just GLS, but Ever Dream, and 7 Days to the Wolves. All of this is music that I'd not previously heard -- and my first thought hearing Floor at Wacken 2013 was: "Who is this woman, part devil with an angelic voice, who has made me feel again? Where on Earth did she emerge from?" Learning about Floor, and to a larger extent, Nightwish, Tuomas, and Jukka (because insomnia and loving his drumwork), it made me realize: While money makes the world go 'round, music from Nightwish makes life worth living.

Thank you, Floor you have given us so much. I was in a very dark place after 3 tours of combat, I'd lost friends and family, and then my 18 yr old daughter died. So I was truly lost, suicide was ever-present in my thoughts. I did not seek help until I retired from the service, I had turned to heavy drinking and destructive behavior. The day came I accepted I needed help, the first day I went to the V.A to start therapy, the staff was listening to your music. I cannot explain it, I was lost in the pain you could drain from me. I broke right there and then, all the anguish of the past 20 years came flowing out. I wasn't cured, but I don't think without hearing your angelic voice I'd ever gotten to where I am 8 years later. To say you save my life, the life of someone you'll never know isn't an exaggeration. This is why I only refer to you as my own personal Goddess. When the anxiety builds, the panic attacks set upon me, I turn on your music (video if I'm home) and let you pull it out of me. I am forever in your debt, a man you'll never know and yet you saved. I wish only the best in this life for you and others like you. You give so much and ask us for so little in return. When you sing, heaven weeps for there's no angel that can match your voice. You introduce envy to the heavens while healing so many. Your music has helped countless veterans, all of us owe you a debt that cannot be repaid.

In my eyes, ears and my soul, Floor is THE BEST singer of ALL TIME, like in the history of mankind. Male or Female doesn't matter. She's just out of this world, out of this universe. No one else so far managed to deliver such emotions through singing to the point where i can just stay in awe and tear up like a child along with goosebumps all over the body and shivers down the spine, all at the same time. I'm so glad to be living in the same time with her and be able to listen to that godly voice. Cos that's what she is - a Goddess.

As I wasn't a huge NW fan (only knew a couple old songs with Tarja) I didn't even know who is the current NW singer. I discovered Floor in Beste Zangers show and already fell in love. Then I watched Ghost Love Score and some more, including many reactions, and just got my mind blown away.
I never really cared a lot for vocals in music as I preferred instrumental surf, metal, jazz, classical and film scores. That all changed when I saw Nightwish GLS with Floor. I never got goose bumps before from music, but with Floor it happens without fail. Her vocal ability is remarkable and she is always on point.

So I think the componist from Nightwish is a very ambitious and perfectionist guy and with Floor he found the perfect singer. I would call it synergy. Floor is one hell of a woman.

Both NW en Floor went trough al lot. They are at a point where they don't take succes and artistic chemistry for granted. They cherish what they have together. That is what you can see and feel on stage when they are performing. No ego's but a team making great en epic music.

What a beautiful and humble soul! Nightwish has no doubt grown in popularity because of her talent, her presence, and her personality. Who wouldn't want to be in a band with someone like Floor!
The union of Floor Jansen and Nightwish was perfectly symbiotic. It was like two burnt-out phoenixes helping each other rise from the ashes to be greater than they were before. I mean, she was pretty great before so that's saying a lot.

I had no idea someone with such talent could ever have confidence problems, but we're all human. I have observed your FB page group and some videos you put up, and I have to say, there is no shortage of people out there who love you. I honestly didn't know Nightwish until a few months ago. I found that little song, um, Ghost love Score, and I was hooked deep. It is the only song that has brought me to tears. Floor, you are truly a gift and you and the band deserve all the credit and accolades you receive. You guys are utterly amazing together. I am forever a Floor Jansen fan, you seem so humble, and I just found a new to me favorite genre of music thanks to Nightwish. Thank you, all of you. Your songs never get old by the way because It's always a blessing to hear such a beautiful voice, I never tire of it.

I saw the opening performance for the Imaginaerum world tour with Annette in LA, had a great time. I wasn't keeping up with the current news of the band when I went to go see them later in the same tour in San Diego. I'd known about Floor from After Forever, and when Floor came out at that show I was all "Holyshit, it's Floor". This was before she was officially a part of the band, just filling in, and I could tell then that there was great camaraderie, chemistry, and respect between her and the band.
Oh that would be a nice concert to see then!

The Ghost Love Floor from the Beunos Aires sounds amazing, but if it had been recorded in the same quality as the DVD one...That would have been ultimate.
For me, her Ghost Love Score version is the best ever (especially Buenos Aires)! Tarja could not bring that huge bunch of emotion into her vocal lines in that one. And as much as I loved Anette, Ghost Love Score didn't suit her vocal abilities at all (listen to her appearance in 'Heart Full of Fire', THAT'S her style. The solo album is pretty good, too). Floor just nails that one, so amazing.
What your say is so true. I can't get tired of listening to Ghost love Score, and that performance in Buenos Aires is the best. Then she arranged it different, and in Wacken 2013 is almost as good as B . A. I'm about to enjoy their concert in Buenos Aires, the last day of september... let's see how it sounds there, now in 2018.

Allan Sandoval I enjoyed very much that concert. The sound was a little bit bad, it was a small, closed stadium. A basketball court. The show was amazing, specially for the band giving all in those two hours of show. And the energy between them and the audience was great. I couldn't believe my eyes that Floor Jansen and Nightwish were a few meters away from me.
Very nice actually, sounds like it was a really good show. Small is better some times, you actually feel way more connected. Did they play Ghost Love Score?

I think the real thing that elevated Nightwish is that Floor gave Tuomas and entirely new expanded pallet of colors with which to compose. He has grown as a composer since she joined, her "brothers-in-arms," as she calls them, have improved as musicians, because she has elevated them all by raising the level of her performance. They made her better, she makes them better ... and look what has happened. They are the premiere band in the world as far as technicality, composition and they are growing in popularity daily. I have over ten people who I've turned on to Nightwish in the past month. I'm taking a friend to their October 2nd show In Los Angeles, and he's pumped. I bought several of their albums in the beginning, but Tarja was just too much for me. I'm not a fan of opera and to my ear, she was like a hammer hitting an anvil. I listened to the select songs that I liked, but I didn't buy any more albums and I didn't pay attention. Now I own them all, plus all the DVDs ... they are at the top of my playlist rotation and I watch their songs on RUclips every day. That would not have happened without Floor. I get where the Tarja fans are coming from ... They liked what she brought, the heavier, darker sound - I just didn't. I generally dislike when my bands change to more commercially accessible music, as I feel the more popular the music, the less value it has. The public, in general, doesn't like entertainment that challenges them to think - they want something that plays in the background while the run the vacuum or cook dinner. I want something that broadens my mind - and Nightwish is most proficient at that. Thank you, Tuomas; thank you, Floor; thank you Marko, Emppu, Troy, and Kai. You are in my heart.

Michael: Time to let Tarja go. She was planning to leave NW anyway but the band sacked her before she would leave for some heavy reasons. It was really complicated situation of which nobody liked. But bygones are bygones. Let's just enjoy what we have now and keep looking foward.

@@Cazimie Well, Floor can sing operatic but most of the time she chooses not to. Anyway, she often mixes her chest voice and head voice which is pretty amazing and hard to do as many vocal coaches will tell you.
Also, someone wrote earlier that NW don't even want to do this style any more, they are evolving, changing over time which is not necessarily a negative thing.
I gotta be honest: I cried when she talked about how the Fans, the Band and the Management said that she fits perfectly and she felt the same Way. And im a grown ass man :D

Her performance of Ghost Love score as shown in this video is the best ever, before or since, and has never been topped, even by herself.
A reminder that even the greats feel the pressure and Floor is great, with pitch, tone, power and range that I thought didn't exist anymore. She has single handedly restored my faith in people to make real music.

I loved nightwish with tarja. Hated it with Annette. I’ve always loved floor. When I learned she’d joined nightwish I was overjoyed. And she made my favorite song even better (ghost love score). I still love Tarja, but floor is just meant to be in this band, she can sing anything

To put it mildly: Nightwish has "floor"ished since bringing Floor Jansen on board in 2012.
