  • @zahershukr6591

    You can clean the valve in gas and spray air, and replace the seals. That’s all what’s needed. If you have issues with rear ac leaking but rear block off kit from street rod guys in USA 90$ perfe t fix and your ac will freeze again and only fill half the Freon. Nissan purposely designed the pathfinder set ac rear lines to pit and leak thousands of dollars in parts and costs! lol

    Things I do want to share. Mechanics will try to say it’s the compressor but it’s not, most shops will not allow to replace the single part which is frustrating because of “liability”
    Research and find different mechanic shops to get your system evacuated, installed and recharged.

I went to 4 different places to get them to replace and they all said they never done or heard it before and suggested a new compressor. Cost as high as $1200. I laughed in all their faces. Thank you Sir! Two different shops told me my compressor was wrecked. $1300 to replace. I watched your video about five times. A neighborhood shop pulled the refrigerant out. I took the Altima home and followed your instructions replacing the pressure valve. Interesting, there was a pressure release (whoosh) when I pulled the valve out. Put the new one in, secured it. Then took the Altima back to the shop who evacuated and recharged the system. It took a moment for the compressor to respond, but respond it did. AC is nice and cold. (By the way, I replaced the expansion valve while the refrigerant was out) Thanks. ($42 pressure control valve wins over a $1300 compressor. Expansion valve was $19 at OReillys)

      @@juliusmarkov8182 The A/C clutch was defective. It did not engage when it received power to do so. As I remember THIS A/C clutch on a 2013 Altima SL; has two wires. If you replace the clutch OR get a whole new compressor unit with a clutch - make sure it has a two wire connection (IF your original unit has two). I do not understand exactly why, some only have one wire - but the SL with automatic A/C is designed that way - there must be a reason, maybe the automatic feature. I however I now never use the automatic feature to control the A/C unit which the Altima SL has. IF you are having a problem check all relevant fuses first.

    My grand vitara jb420 have this kind of compressor, but it also have a magnetic clutch infront, so my ac mechanic is a little confuse because when the compressor kick on, it wont turn off when it reach the temp that we want, like other compressor, in my toyota camry the compressor kick on when i turn the ac on, and then off automatically when it reach the certain temp, is this kind of compressor with a control valve behind it doesnt turn of automatically? If it doesn’t, why it have a magnetic clutch then? My ac mechanic confuse so he bypass it with a modded thermostat to make the compressor automatic

    • @737mechanic
      @737mechanic  2 года назад

      The compressor will turn off if the pressure is too high or too low but this is a variable displacement compressor so when it is on the control valve varies the displacement instead of turning off and on all the time. If your compressor is engaged and turning but you do not have cold air it is most likely the control valve is bad.

    Hello. My mechanic just vacuumed and charged the a/c on my 2010 altima. It cools good. However my clutch does not stop turning as long as my a/c is on. It stops when I turn off the a/c. When I tested this, the temperature setting was on 50%, just at the middle, and it was evening so not too hot weather. I waited around 5-10 minutes and the clutch did not stop turning. It was cold in the car but not very cold. When I turned the temperature switch to max, the air from the vents went colder. So the a/c temperature control system (probably some kind of thermostat) works properly. The only problem is that the clutch does not stop turning which increases the a/c gas pressure too much so it leaks out of the system. What’s the problem? Also does a/c clutch go on and off when the a/c is on and the car is working on idle in park gear on 2010 nissan altima or the clutch is engaged as long as the a/c is on?

    • @737mechanic
      @737mechanic  Год назад

      So if your car has a CCV or compressor control valve the clutch will stay engaged almost 100 percent of the time. What it does is unloads the compressor when it does not need as much pressure and increase as it needs more.

      I'm having the same problem with my 2014 Altima. I got the same $2K estimate from my mechanic. By the grace of God I found a thread about replacing the compressor control valve. I ordered the part on Ebay, it arrived today. I will be taking the part to the mechanic & showing this video to him first thing tomorrow morning. I'm so excited to see the look on their faces! Saving money makes me happy 😄 Plus I'm excited about getting cold, consistent air flow in this crazy TX heat! 🙌

      If your car is a base (ie. No letter after the 2.5s), then the vehicle does not have a compressor control valve. I found that out the hard way after four hours of looking over and under the hood.

      With gauges connected I watch the pressures and see what they do when I turn the A/C on and off. The expansion valve and control valve can have similar symptoms but the control valve is a high failure item and since any time you evacuate the system they recommend replacing the expansion valve I would replace both to be on the safe side.

      If your compressor is coming on and staying on long enough so it should get cold then it could be this control valve. It could also be the expansion valve but the control valve is easy to change so might be worth a change.

    What would you say is a fair price to pay a shop to replace this ? I just moved to a new state so my family and familiar mechanic I would usually go to is 14 hours away. I already paid for a AC tune up before my move which didnt fix it so I feel like this is most likely the solution.
