If you are considering the 7900 gre, just know you can add another 10%+ performance with a good OC/UV, bringing the performance closer to the 4070 ti Super or 3090 ti. GREAT VIDEO good sir!!! My OC settings are... Min Frequency = 2400 Max Frequency = 2700 Voltage = 980mV Vram = 2380 Power Limit = +15% Max GPU Board = 300w Average Board Power = 275w Before OC Heaven Benchmark score = 3050 After OC/UV Heaven Benchmark score = 3400 Hope this helps. ;)
Nice oc, I think overclocking your vram is more beneficial than core clocks though. Which brand 7900 gre do you have btw? I ordered Asus tuf I hope to get similar results if possible
God ...how "bad" the 3090 was when it launched. It was brutally overpriced, barelly could beat a 6900 XT and the power consumption was just terrible. But since it was a Nvidia product the fanboys did defend the 3090 to their deaths. Now AMD has the 7000 Series that has slightly higher power consumption than its competitor and guess what...AMD has a bad product becasue it takes more power than the rtx 4000 series. So delusional. Dont get me wrong the 3090 has good performance FPS wise but the product as a whole was not compared to the 6900 XT. The 7900 GRE walks all over the 3090 in this test.
@@Pabloesc571 realistically, the determining factor for how good or bad the purchase of an old gpu is, is based off the game devs. So far the past 3 years, if you could get anything that runs CyberPunk2077 decently on 1440p, you probably are clear for the next atleast 4 years for a decent gameplay
@@Pabloesc571 yeah it was I guess, but at the time I don't think there was a close gpu performance wise atleast. So can't blame the old buyers. However going for a 3090 right now is one of the dumbest decisions to take
Clash of two powerful GPUS's. 3090 is still holding it's own against the newer high end GPU's, very close in raster performance, wait till you test it with RT on as well. But also respect for 7900 GRE, one of the best from AMD's current lineup with insane OC settings.
I think its good compared to the 5700x. You definitely wont have to upgrade for a while and if you can afford then go for it. Just take into account what games and apps you will be using so you don't spend extra on anything you don't need unless you don't really mind lol@@charles-th3sf
This is why i no longer buy Nvidia right here. Think about how much the people who bought the 3090 and other Nvidia gpus paid for them. It continues today.
after undervolting the 7900 GRE you can get like 10 - 15 more FPS , also do the undervolting on your CPU as well and it will also give like 5 - 7 FPS more , so in total you can extract around 20 FPS more if you do everything properly + you can turn on FSR 3.1 + Frame Generation and get almost 20 - 30 FPS more . I am talking about 4K only .
Im trying to fit in a budget pc with the 7900, currently got a spare case and a spare cooler, im stuck however on the CPU Socket and the ram type, so i ask of you: Whats the lowest budget CPU to pair with the 7900 GRE for a good performance, and how many DDR4 or DDR5 gigs should i aim to get
R7 5800x3d bottlenecks rtx 3090 more than 7900 gre. Look at gpu usage, 7900 gre is 100% on most games while rtx 3090 not even once reached 100% usage. You need better cpu like 7800x3d.

The 7900 GRE walks all over the 3090 in this test.
Not to mention the prices, a 1000£ card is currently being dogged by a 550£ card
I wouldn't call that walking all over lol buying any of these top GPUs is stupid imo. It's only the top card for like 3 years.

@@DoomShop-fg7mr I was talking about buying a 3090 or 4090. That's dumb since the 7900gre I just ordered outperforms 3090 (in games only though lol).

pairing the RX 7900 GRE to my Ryzen 7 5700x3d would be a hella PC since i play Heavy games
I have a 5700x with a 7900gre and it does a great job keeping the gpu at 100% at 4k and 1440p for most games.
