I don't understand how sightreading is possible. Don't you have to practice the notes, to know what's coming? There could be slight variations, random note in places.
Once you've played the game enough, you more or less get a feel for timing when to hit the notes, so you can look ahead at the "future" notes and react. Some people aren't as good as others, then there are people like Jason, Acai, etc.
It is all about paying careful attention to what is happening. I don't know exactly how to explain, but it all comes with experience. It is like how you could set a piece of music that is in many ways incredibly challenging in front of a professional orchestra, but they have been playing their instruments and learning music for a long enough time that they can understand how the music is likely to progress and they also pay very careful attention to everything that is happening on the sheet of music in order to play it almost perfectly. I'd imagine it's pretty similar to that, except, you know, with a plastic guitar.
Just to chime in here. But is there also a time when playing enough to start to immediately recognise certain patterns and such in notes? Like with the sweeps, once you see those, you pretty much know from the start what you're getting into and what you have to do.
Through parts of this song you gain laserlike focus. I kept thinking you had let a note slip by once here and there but I was wrong. You have ascended with the completion of this track.
