Last weekend, after visiting Birmingham for The National Running Show, I headed further north to the Peak District to explore with my friends Tony & Rich. Despite the ice and snowy conditions (or maybe because of them??) we had the best time! Week 6/16 100k training done, just 10 weeks until race day!!

Rain, snow or overcast, you are a burst of sunshine 🌞
Thank you!
Appreciated the "Good morning!" as I was heading back up Lose Hill (that's me @ 6:45 👋). Glad you enjoyed the rest of the run!
Ah haha no way!! Good job getting up that, i defo walked it last time I had to do it 😂
As someone who lives and trains in the peak district this video definitely does the place justice! Glad you enjoyed it, everyone is welcome at any time!
Thank you!! It really is beautiful 😍
What an amazingly beautiful place. Thanks for sharing these stunning views.
Welcome back to the Peak District! You were running on many of my favourite sections of routes. Cave Dale is a killer whichever way you run it!
I just can’t even! I love watching your vlog, I don’t remember how I started following you but I’m so glad I did! You are an inspiration and I hope someday to make it to the UK! Cheers from West Michigan USA
Haha thank you so much!! 🥰
what a beautiful run!! 😍that iconic view at 4:57 has been in so many magazines, I really want to visit. I must get up there at some point x
It was so stunning! 😍
Your enthusiasm is infectious 😁
Awww stunning 🤩 I went there for my 40th birthday 🥳 loved it. Great video 🥰
Those boys really were like mountain goats!! I have donated money to your friend's page for his race, what a great cause.
Beautiful views and I love that you promote stopping, walking, enjoying the scenery etc instead of just non stop running as fast as possible!!
Thank you so much for donating, it'll mean a lot to him and the charity! 🥰 it was stunning. Such a great morning out!
I am doing base training at the moment (I have a 21km hilly race in July and am a slow and not very dedicated runner haha) and I am jealous of the cold temps, I decided to cancel my morning run because it is too humid and do a shorter session at the gym later instead :(. Hate treadmill running but it's not worth the heat stress. I can't fathom running in 4 layers, I reckon if I ever ended up somewhere with snow I would have no idea what hit me! Such a beautiful place you are running, and yes, the views are the reason we get out on the trail!
Great video Flora, such a lovely place for running 🙂
Great run in an absolutely stunning place! My goal in life is to live in or very near a beautiful place, while still physically able to make the most of it. Good luck Tony on your race!!
It was so beaut! That's a great goal 😍
Loved the video good luck Tony 👍
Good luck Tony! 🤞🍀🤞
Gorgeous run, I miss living in the Peaks!
Ah, looks like just missed you twice, I was at the Running Show on Saturday and am not too far away from Winnats Pass/Castleton (well, about 30 miles)!
Looks like you had some great weather for it, I do enjoy it up there!
Such stunning views , brilliant video 👍
ahhh love it. I did a half marathon earlier this week but picked up an achillies issue. Happens occassionally so its ice bath and rest, and swimming for a week or so.
Youre hardcore in this weather but a true inspiration. Thanks
Ah no! Hope you get better soon
I live in Ohio, USA. I laughed when you said that you have never ran in snow before because I have ran in like 4 inches multiple times BUT you are in much better shape and can run much better than i can. Even in that dusting of snow, you would probably blow past me. YOU ARE A BEAST 💪
Haha thank you! Soft snow would be a new experience for me too 😅 do you use spikes?!
Such a gorgeous place, might have to go mountain biking there🤣👌👌great video flora😁
Great views up there.
Just a quick comment to let you know how much I enjoy your videos. I'm an older runner and I use your videos for motivation.
Thank you so much, that's really lovely to read! 🥰
Your always so happy flora haha 😂 wish I could be half as happy 🤣
I loved Mam Tor - although I went in the summer. There were a whole load of Paragliders when we were there which was just amazing to watch.
How did you find the Running Show to be? We did the Sat and loved some of the guest speakers. The Brownie stand was yum .. but wasn't quite sure why there was a Hot-Tub seller?!
Oh wow that must have been amazing! I enjoyed the running show, some amazing and inspirational speakers! I especially enjoyed Sabrina Verjee that I didn't know of before. What a woman!
Good luck Tony! Loved this Flora, what a beautiful place ❤️ if you’re going to be running on the snow more you may want to invest in some darn tough socks or something similar. I wear their hiker socks and my toes stay toasty warm even after an hour in -20c. You may want to check on the fit of your shoes too. I’m sure you know this, but frozen toes are no fun! Thanks for another great vlog!
Yes I'll definitely check these out! The problem is, I have no circulation in my hands or feet, so insulated socks don't do much for me as there's no heat there to insulate 😂 but I'll definitely try, thanks for the suggestion!
@@FloraBeverley oh yes, circulation is a totally different problem. Do they make solar powered heated socks? That would be EXCELLENT!
@@HappyPotter24 I would buy those in a heartbeat!
Great video thanks! Any chance of the GPX? I'm hiking up there in a few weeks and was thinking I may do a run as well and this route is perfect.
### scrap that, hadn't got all the way to end and now seen it on Strava lol. Great work!!
Like for Flora. Fantastic race, a nice week for everyone from 🇪🇸. 🌦️🏃⛰️
The gates are made for exactly what you said, too narrow for sheep/cow to fit through but a person can turn sideways and squeeze. Last longer than a wooden or metal gate and require no maintaining, will have been put in when the wall was built originally possible over 100 years ago. Metal gate will be much newer/modern.
Fascinating!!
It was a bit muddier over on the west side of the Peaks on Sunday but at least the mud had frozen!
I would love to film a virtual trail running video there!
I am equal parts jealous and enjoying myself alongside you xD
👏👏👏👏
Отличная пробежка! Виды шикарные👍
Mam tor is on my to do list this year. I want to try running it and also riding it. Where's the best place to start the run?
There are loads of places to park - at the bottom is beautiful but more of a hike. We parked about half way up!
the broken road bit by castlteon was where i managed to lead around 4 people the wrong way on last years ultra x 50k! not sure why people were following me, i wasnt actually paying attention to the race markers haha
Omg hahaha oh no!! 😂 I was following someone too tbf, I'm just lucky he went the right way!
Hi
Great run, what was the name of the new electrolyte you was trying out?
Voom nutrition - was great!!
what was the carb source you used in stead of tailwind
called
It was by Voom nutrition - I think it's only just come out! Can't remember the name but it was good 👌
I tried watching this on the treadmill today, nearly fell off because of the jolty camera 😂I think I’ll continue to enjoy your videos away from the treadmill
Jolty camera?! I'm always amazed at how smooth the filming is, considering how bumpy the actual running is, especially on ice 😅
@@FloraBeverley sorry, just my experience! It did make me lose balance for some reason. Have a go yourself and see, it might just be me?!
You are brave trying something new for nutrition on a run like that.
If you.dont practise, you don't know! 😆
7:28 thanks for all the messages of good luck. Unfortunately the race didn’t go well as I got ill beforehand. Talking about important subjects whilst running down snowy trails is not a recipe for choosing your words too well unfortunately. It would have been better out as… Ultra Distance Scholarship work to elevate representation within cycling. As cycling is already overwhelmingly welcoming to white men this means they do incredible work to extend support to uk minorities and personally I think that is incredibly worth while. The outdoors and endurance sports personally gives me so much, and I hope as many different people feel comfortable enough to try it as possible, and that they gain as much joy from it as I have myself. The outdoors for all always
Lovely spot for a run there Flora, looked freezing but stunning! Nice work on week 6 of your training. Hope it continues to go well 👍
It was gorgeous!! Thank you :)
