Anyone else spend the Easter break dragging their better half over a mountain for clicks and views? 😂
What’s good Mark, you got yourself one loyal follower here, I followed you with all 5 of my channels and liked numerous videos all week because your videos are truly great.
Please stay consistent as your channel is blowing up right now so it stays going parabolic in subscribers. Also, pick a same time to upload every time you upload every week. This is important for the algorithm. You Motivated me a lot recently and I Hope more people see your channel! 100k in no time, trust me!
not quiet haha but convinced her to get the downhill bike out and shred some trails haha
@@loonel Equally superb!
Not quite but set myself the goal of Marathon Monday yesterday. My first ever marathon I hit a wall about 20 miles but persisted with it and got it done, onwards and upwards 🙌🏻
Absolutely great video! Well done!
Probably my favorite video intro so far. "She doesn't look very happy now" as she comes into view waay back there lol. Brilliant
Wait, no one is mentioning the tiny dog going all the way across the trail keeping up with those comperatively enormous humans? Impressive efford by Nixon, I honestly wouldn't have thought that was possible (yes, I'm not much of a dog person, love them, but not nearly enough to consider living with one, so I'm don't know too much)
He's a beast!
Your channel is really helping me motivation wise. I started out at 335lbs, I've lost 65lbs since Sept, so I'm still heavy but Just been for a 10 mile jog and didn't die
Best wishes on your journey. My mum had a health scare exacerbated by her weight and has since been working to improve fitness and nutrition. She's down 25 kilos and feeling much better.
Edit: spelling
Congratulations! Keep up the great work.
Good luck, keep going 👍
@steven do you have Strava? Time for some followers!!
Congratulations👍
This video made me cry. I'm more or less at Jenna's fitness level and it wouldn't cross my mind that I could achieve what she did. But MAYBE .... Maybe I could. I've lost 128 lbs and yesterday completed my 106th hike since 1/1/21, which was 15 km with a lot of elevation gain. But I've only started jogging about a week ago. Onward!
Onward and upward! It's amazing what the body can do when you push it a bit! Sounds like you are well on the way though......jog/walk is the next step!
Firstly, props to your wife! Secondly, not many people are able to make me watch videos of amateur running races. You're doing something really interesting here.
Mark I ran my first Park Run ever this week - most of the inspiration is down to yourself. Not fast by any stretch of the imagination, a solid 29mins and change, however course average is 30mins 27secs meaning I am above average!! As a 42 yo, 6'2", 236lbs male, I was very nervous and put it off for a few weeks to put in some extra training which I think helped. This has really given me a lot of confidence and will certainly be back each week to see how I progress. I don't post comments on RUclips very often but you have helped me and inspired me. Really like the sensible and rational advice / content. Please keep it up and a podcast hosted by yourself would be really top notch. Thank you!
P.S Hearts On Fire - best training song ever.
That’s a great result for a first Parkrun - faster than mine was! And the beauty of being in the high 20s is that you can spend a good couple of years slowly chipping away and just aging backwards as you get better and better! Now that I am at a point where I never quite know how close to a PB I will get, I am genuinely quite jealous of people starting their journey just hacking away at the times 👍🏼
That is hilarious!! Jen didn’t even look like she broke a sweat coming over the finish line👌👏
I signed up for this event after watching your previous beast of the beacons run. Phenomenal effort by Jenna, incidentally I was one of the guys you were determined to stay ahead of at the end and my legs are still wrecked today
Ha! I told her if you got within 100m of us me and Nixon would leave her 😂
@steve, you’ve done better than us, 🛋️ 🥔. I can run 5k, after that I am dying…
Impressive stuff from Jen. The real question is: what was "the day after" like for each of you? I'd wager your recovery times were somewhat different.
She Felt good actually. Rest day Sunday, light jog Monday. Normal Tuesday. Toes/feet all good, no blisters. Better shape than me if I ran at my max. Because it was a sub max effort I was fine the next day….. but she wasn’t far behind!
I ran a 10k in 42mins after not having ran in two years. You're right about being able to push more than you may think.
That’s flying! Awesome results. Great muscle memory 👍🏼
But you are a fuckin space marine.
Some people just have a high vo2max of their own. Like you i guess
Thats incredible!
Clearly you have natural talent, well done
Nixon is an inspiration, what a little unit
One of my favorites, very inspiring and well done Jen.
I'm slightly laughing at people's park run times on here compared to mine ,I did my first park run the other week in 49 and change mins and thought I was going to die of exhaustion on the finish line😂,last week I did it with a couple of minutes knocked off and as I crossed the finish line realised I could have pushed it more as I still had loads left in the tank ,surprising how quickly the body can fitten up even with gentle exercise
Don't worry about the others, you're doing great: running is like watching porn after all - don't compare (except to yourself, I suppose).
How awesome did Jenna do!? I am legitimately shocked. And yeah you're a massive inspiration to me. Got a 5km and 10km pb on Saturday (23:28 & 47:22) and i wouldn't have started running if i didn't discover your channel.
Your 5 and 10 are nice times! And show you don’t slow too much. When my 10 was at 47 my 5 was close on 21. I just slow down too much!
@@MarkLewisfitness despite that my HR on the return 5km is all in the red!
I did my first ever Parkrun this past weekend after a couple of weeks of running and I managed a 28:04 and was very happy with the result. As a 44 year old male with very little recent running experience I was chuffed. Thanks for all the great videos.
Great stuff. Sub 28 next!
@@MarkLewisfitness 27:43 today, very pleased with my time.
@@MrWedge22 you're improving so fast! Great job
Just found your channel..No idea how ...
I used to run this route many years ago.
2010 to 2012...
Brings back some good memories..
Nixon - the true legend… i had a good chuckle when you dunked him and he just loved it!
Love it! You crack me up Mark. Thank you for posting, love watching your stuff.
Wow! You both blew me away on that one. If Jen starts working out regular, you are in trouble my friend.
What a great thing to do together.
oh, and double Kudos to Nixon the wonder dog. 👍
Fantastic video Mark, what a great and entertaining watch - congrats to you both on your event time! Going to be pushing myself for a PB on a Half Marathon this upcoming weekend and your video was just the motivation and incentive I needed!
This is my favourite video to date Mark, keep them coming!
Thank you for the informative, fun entertainment 😀
Thanks for making these videos, Mark. I like watching them and they are definitely worth the time they take to watch.
Watching this from the deck outside my house with acing legs from to much cykling the last two days gives me all the motivation I need to take a restday tomorrow and get back at my above avarage training after that. Loving that the sun and warmth has come to Scandinavia and Sweden so we can get rid of those warm clothes! Thank you for the honesty and the great videos.
Love the effort you put into the production on these videos (as well as hauling yourself round these courses!)
Loved this episode! Jen’s a badass! Congrats to both of you, but especially her. She did amazing!
Very enjoyable story telling, and inspiring to see how well Jen did stepping into a bigger challenge 👍 Another good video, thanks.
This video is awesome, just kicked back and watched it start to finish. Continue your great work Mark, you're a brilliant guy!
Such a brilliant video! Really inspirational. Great work all of you but esp Jenna as it was her first one. Amazing 🤩
Wonderful video Mark. Thats a relationship goal we should all aspire to. Well done Jen. and Nixon.
Thank you 🙏
Man, super addicted to your videos, your storytelling and attitude overall. Keep motivating everyone that watches!
This was very inspiring. I love that Jen had a smile on her face most of this run and that she seemed to enjoy the journey. I also love that Mark told her to go ahead on the down hills- some people who are the "experienced one's" get angry when a novice does well let alone enjoys themselves. Good on Jen. I'm looking forward to watching her progress. Great video Mark. I just discovered your channel and am really enjoying it- great information and great inspiration.
Can't tell you how much I'm taking from these videos. Just started on my quest for fitness - going really well so far. These vids are totally pushing me on. Keep 'em coming Mark!
“Bloody welly wanger!” best line of the video! Great job Jenna and great video. Happy for you guys! (Nick from podcast btw!) all the best!
That was a super video. Hats off to Jenna on finishing strong. I enjoyed the comment (and subsequent head shake) on not worrying about the other runners around you.
Really enjoy all your videos and your approach towards sustainable fitness.
This video is indeed one of your best👍
Way to go
Super impressive! Great display of what's capable, like you say often more than what we think. The views and footage is wicked to.
Hi Mark that was an excellent video explaining how we can do more than we think if we push ourselves a little. Eg. I rode a 106km very hilly and windy event recently when i wasn't ready for it but i got through it somehow!
So I don't run consistently as I'm more of a cyclist but that kind of scenery definitely makes me want to enter a similar event. Thanks
Great video mark. Definitely inspiring myself and others to get out and try something to see where we are on the bell curve
Wow just recently discovered your channel and watched few of your videos, this is so inspiring. I relate to it so much, I am a heavier long distance runner as well and signed up for my first Ultra 50km in 6 months, I definitively plan to train with the goal of course to finish. When I see how much you were both able to finish with little training, I can tell that you overall level of fitness proper equipment and patience made it feel like a great experience but possible.
So inspiring. Keep up the good work and amazing content.
Man I'm 10 minutes into this vid and gotta say this is AWESOME!! Loving it. And go your dog - deserves a medal of his own.
Great video. Well done to her and I have to say amazing dog! Happy go lucky all the way round, super effort by both.
Bro, your content just gets better and better. Please keep it up! Jen is a machine...lol! Really impressive for her lack of prep. Speaks a lot to her decent physical effort, but more so to her mental toughness.
Wow amazing video. You wife is a legend . I can't believe how easy she made this look. Just started watching you video s and find them very inspirational and above all honest as well as funny. Keep up the good work .
Nice vid there Mark and well done to your other half. Ive also done a few of the Limitless trails events and you picked a good one there as the Brecon Beacons is pretty runnable, apart from the steepest climbs, and not what id call a real mountain running event as not much ankle twisting stuff to run over. Also have to say it as I also have a dog, but i always think its looks like the dog is doing the work when you're going up hill ;-))
Just found your channel. I adore your message, about the level of training etc. It's how I've been handling 50ks, with minimal training (25ish miles/wk) due to a hectic work schedule, but always felt I was crazy or slacking or something... I simply don't have the time for more, but I don't want to give up my races, as they add so much to my life. You've helped me boot the guilt and embrace the adventure. Congrats to you, your awesome wife, and amazing dog!
Mark, thanks once again. Never realized how inspirational watching you, your wife, & Nixon running around could be first thing in the morning after a good night sleep. Guess that I'll have to kick it up a notch to get to my own personal above average. Totally enjoyed and am definitely starting the day off on a good note now. Cheers!
Thanks 🙏 knowing people are inspired to do stuff from watching ….is inspiring right back to me! 👍🏼 just makes me want to do more!
Loved this video - & really got your explanation & the graph explaining what it is you look to do - i.e. be better than average. Totally captures my aim in a way I'd never been able to explain as well as you did. I've been working through a list of challenges which started a couple of years ago - I was overweight, did zero exercise & was very unfit, but @53 decided it was time to turn things around. Initially lots of walking led to taking on 50k & then 100k walking challenges - losing 25kg along the way. I then learnt about ultra runners, was in awe of them & just knew that is what I wanted to do - so started learning to run last year. I worked my way through 5ks, 10ks, half marathons & just kept going; completed a 65k trail challenge, did well & absolutely loved it.......but knew my ultra running challenge ultimately meant doing a 100 miler......& in 22 weeks is my first, so am training for that.
I love those trails around Pen-Y-Fan, great video and props to Jen!
another excellent video thanks Mark, and a big up to your co-stars!
Really lovely video.
Great short stride, high cadence trail running from the better half. Clearly a natural!
Beautiful scenery.
Cool dog.
Just the video I needed to see today. I'm working on walk/run marathon training and doing a 7 mile endurance train tomorrow, the longest distance I've done since middle school (late last century). Watching this has got me stoked for the training.
Mark loving following your content. I have a marathon in a few weeks. I get scared I haven't trained enough. You give me hope I can get mywelf round if I don't give up. Cheers mate!
This is fast becoming my favourite youtube channel. Highly enjoyable 👏
Looking forward to when they bring out a Doggy Garmin to see Nixon's stats 😆
Also, great job Mark and Jen
Check out PitPat, kind of like a Garmin for a pooch
Mark, I have recently discovered your channel and after an initial binge decided to do my first park run, I have done two now with a 29:12 PB and I'm hooked! Keep it up!
Nice time to start with! Faster than mine!
Keep it up , done my first park run in December at 37 minutes, 3 weeks ago I got 26.50 minutes , have signed up for a 10k road race and a 10k obstacle course, one next week and one the week after , but last week got covid and feeling like garbage now 😭😭, will still do them but don’t think I will hit my original goals
Damn, I watched this video after watching Jen's VO2Max test, and she seems to have an incredible natural Low Intensity Steady State engine. It's going to be really interesting to see how much she can push that out in the next 6 months!
I think the take home from this is that Jen would have crushed you if she didn’t have to wait around for you to catch up! 😊
"I will crush you"
-- Jenna (also Drago from Rocky IV)
Superb video, this could be one of the best ones: great message, great result, great editing. I also agree it’s best to run your own race and not to worry about other people 🤪😂
Nice video Mark, we have a similar background and physique. This video confirms once again light people got it easier for running, she did amazing!
While all of what you do is in many ways inspirational Mark, after that amazing performance, I’m really leaning towards Jenna’s training schedule!😂
do 20% of what I do and perform 50% as well. Somehow the maths is working against me!!
Outstanding, well done! Nixon is an inspiration too!
Fantastic video, scenery and banter. Welly wanging- brilliant!
Great video Mark, Jen did brilliant. Oh and so did Nixon 🐕
Discovered your channel recently and this is one of my favorites any trail runner type has put out. Congrats to Jenna and yourself for the nice finish together. Did I hear you say it was her birthday run basically? Like I want you to take me some place beautiful to celebrate etc and this was it? No wonder she ran well!
“I did not expect to be running like a lunatic, chasing down my wife” sums up this video perfectly.
Well done to the lady for an inspirational performance. I’m motivated even more now.
Mark I absolutely love your page. You are wife are an exact example of me and my wife. She’s preparing for her first spartan super right now. You’re a great inspiration to many. Coming from overweight as a child, to now working as a personal trainer, helping people be their best is the ultimate reward. You are doing this. Keep it up man! You’re changing the lives of many!
Amazing stuff! Hope your wife enjoys it! Jen is starting training proper for Spartan next week. Can’t wait. !
I think the point you target on the bell curve of performance is spot on - 5 to 10 hours a week is going to make you very capable but is also very achievable for most people. I've been there (I'm not there now) and looking forward to getting back there - setting the occasional KOM on strava, feeling and looking good in swim wear, feeling and looking fit/sporty.
Awesome video!
I've signed up to Spartan, some trail races and a challenge in the welsh hills since watching your you tube.
You are more inspiring than you'll ever know. I wouldnt have dared to do these before.
Would love to see more of Jen to follow her training too.
Well done all on your results coming well under your predicted time.
Regards from Wales 🏴🏴
Jen is doing Spartan this summer so more of her to come!
What an awesome effort from Jen, congratulations !
Fun video! Looking forward to seeing the videos of you and Jenn at a Spartan race!
Jen is a machine!! Excellent performance! You both might really enjoy running in New Balance Minimus 10v1's, and Naked Running Bands. Couldn't agree more with you about being in the sweet spot of that curve, and it's allowing me to continue to on with trail running, and daddy-daughter runs, which we occasionally post to the channel.
My favorite video so far! Thanks for the inspiration.
Inspirational stuff. Well done to all of you. What a great achievement 😊😊🐶
Great work Jenna! This video inspired me to change my Sept goal from running my first 10k to my first half marathon.
I’m admittedly new to the channel, and I’m sure I’m watching videos out of order. This is the first video I’ve watched where you’ve seemed to LIKE and respect Jen. Perhaps it’s a difference of humor between different countries. 🤷🏻♀️. She did amazingly.
I did like her more in this one. No question. 😂
Also what a gorgeous landscape! Nice how it comes across in the video
Great content, video, and commentary . It's also inspired me to do a little more running, Keep the great content coming,
Mark, that was a fantastic journey. I’m so happy and amazed at Jen! Well done 👍 I’m curious how she felt a day or two afterwards. Good luck at Hyrox!
Fantastic great video so inspiring! Beautiful scenery too. Enjoyed it very much 👍💪👏👏
Just awesome stuff Mark, brilliant watching.
I love Jen and this video. So glad to find it. Your incredible
Hi Mark,
I've been following your channel for a few months now as I've been recovering from surgeries from injuries sustained from playing rugby.
I didn't want to get back into my fitness because it seemed like to much effort to get back to where I was.
But watching your video has given me the inspiration and motivation to get back out there going running and going to the gym to regain my fitness and I have been doing so for for a few weeks and I've been really enjoying it and I've learnt to plan my training and diet a lot better from watching your content.
Thanks for making your videos. I really like the positive fitness message you spread. They have had a positive impact on my life.
Great to hear. Sounds like you are well back on track 👍🏼
This video got me out of bed and on the hills this morning. Loving it.
I’m going to be applying the Jen Principle in my first Ironman next week and I hope it goes half as well. She’s a weapon!
Love this one, inspiring stuff from Jenna. You are going to have to do something about descending or you’ll really be in trouble if she trains a bit more!
Subscriber numbers shooting up… I’ve been following the channel since you got the kickr bike. Wasn’t that long ago you were betting your kids about getting 10k - now almost 90k! Well deserved, videos are consistently high quality, funny and interesting.
Just discovered your channel - I don't even like running, but I'm loving your content. Keep it up Mark, and I might just try running ;)
What a brilliant video ! Thank you 🙏
What a brill video - really well done Jenna! :-)
Always informative while being entertaining ✊🏾👏🏾👊🏾
great to look back on these videos! I think I've got to just give a trail race a go and see what happens!
I absolutely love this!!! I'd love to be mad enough to just go and run a marathon. Unfortunately, my kness hurt after a half, so much it's almost impossible to finish... So I know I couldn't run this! Walk? Maybe. With training, yes. It's great to know some people can though 😁
Developed an Achilles issue a month ago while getting back into regular training for a hilly half marathon, couldn’t run at all for two weeks prior … super undertrained, achilles hurt or was at least a bit sore while walking even on the day of… ended up running it with
no issues, posted a decent time, had a hell of a lot of fun, and the achilles still feels fine three days later.
This one resonated with me considering my recent experience with your statement (paraphrased) of how much we can surprise ourselves if we just go for it.
Congrats for going for it, and succeeding!! I feel that if we only live the experiences we're "ready" for, our lives would be boring indeed!
This is so inspirational my sister took the mini schnauzer for a park run yesterday and we both been doing trail walking for the last few weeks want to get gravel bike and try to do that also. Thinking of putting a small set of speakers for the dog jacket so we can play eye of the tiger 🐯 on the last sprint to the finish line 🏁
really liking this channel, so much so that I am going to enter the Hyrox in Manchester next year, so training starts now!
Great stuff, I feel crazy having signed up for a 20 miler having not run anything that far, but this makes me think I'll be alright with the right gear, patience and determination
What a great video, thank you for sharing.
We’ll mark its 5:33am over accross the pond in New Jersey, united starts and that means the start of the 2022 Spartan season! Heading to Vernon now to take on my Beast and my first competitive race in age group. Wish us luck and keep up the great content!
Great Video! Well done to both of you.
Great video! Awesome job you 3!
Brilliant... Fair play to both of you 👍👍👍👏👏👏
