When you enter the level for the first time and this tune comes up, it's already magical. But when I met the flute player sitting there, at the start of the area and his play mixes up with the theme, it literally gave me goosebumps. So intense!
Thank you! Personally I like this tune myself aswell. I think I got lucky, and ended up with a weird mix of some nostalgic parts, combined with some whimsical little tunes. I hope it kind of describes the atmosphere in a lonely pond, and the wanderers passing through.
I live in Central Alaska, the gloomy pond full of prehistoric-sized mosquitoes and violent moose made me feel right at home. Though our ponds don't normally include malevolent water spirits as far as I can tell.

i like this game really much, i hope once to see its story return with all its green grass, fog and music out of this world. THIS GAME IS TOO BEAUTIFUL TO BE SO SHORT!
When you have source material like the Kittelsen paintings, you become inspired. I knew I wanted a Nøkk in an pond before I ever started making the game!
@@slidstudio5116 Thank you for creating this incredible piece of art. I'm just about to finish your game and both, soundtrack and game are just absolutely amazing.
Probably my favorite track in the ost, right there by Changeling Forest. It just captures the setting so well with frog like sounds and the whimsical chimes, and when you hear it all fade out as you get close to the Nokken it just makes you feel all the more threatened
I will make a trip to Norway this year. Hope I won´t attract anything bad, becuse I´m magnet for trouble. Jokes aside, this is such atmospheric, tell tale piece of music and for me it´s the BEST of whole soundtrack! Okay, I´ve just watched video about Mr. Theodor Kittelsen and Nokkpond music fits it so, SO well! No wonder it´s inspiring art.
I get Tangerine Dream vibes from this track. What an incredible game and soundtrack! Compliments, sir. Just finished the game today - what a gem! One of my favourite all time games.
This is gonna be ingrained in my head forever. Probably because of how many times I died here and how long I spent 1v1-ing those surprise sand-spiders on the far end of the level. Didn't expect them, and they ALMOST GAVE ME A FREAKING HEART ATTACK. Didn't help that my brain associated the low synth bass in the beginning and the didgeridoo near the end as the spiders popping up and following me. I swear those bastards DISAPPEAR AND A TELEPORT. It was not a fun time (but it was still a fun time). Love it.
Those spiders were absolutely terrifying, I thought i finally got a break and was out free until I encountered them lmao. It was even worse because I jumped right into a field of them and only noticed them once my eyes adjusted. They just stood there and as soon as I looked away they moved. Hell no.
Great game. Nokkpond is the best level so far, the soundtrack is so good on this one. I like the switch in music when you are being pulled into water. And also this feeling, like you don't wan't to resist actually. Then I googled about this creature from scandinavian mythology. I found out that It actualy charms a person to lure him into water. I guess you nailed this charm thing.
Nokkpond is actually the first map that I made for the game, although it has been heavily iterated. In the game file, it is still named 'FirstPersonExampleMap' (For a UE4 user, that should sound familiar). The Nokk was a too good of a character not to use in a game like this. I also think it is my favorite track from the game.
@@slidstudio5116 Your music is really good, I also liked Fallcrush and Deadwell songs. Very catchy melodies, it's not that easy to achieve. You should do more OST for your future projects.
@@evgenii759 Thanx! Yeah, the response to the music has been very good, so I will make it for the new project as well. Making the music can be really hard and frustrating, but it is such a good feeling when a song is done!
This is an absolute masterpiece! This should be used in game design clases as an example of how to make a good level song! The way it transitions over to the jaw harp and Nøkk notes is absolutely stunning imo!
I will be waiting for a new chapter to return to this world again, the developer has created a great game and the soundtrack and especially the ambient at the nokkpond location, I have been listening for 3 days now it's just honey for the ears. The balance in the game is perfect, the atmosphere is addictive, you just feel yourself in the provided locations, you feel all the militancy and magic of the created world
I've listened to this track so much after playing the game a few times. I just can't believe you actually did everything yourself while in the process writing music that almost stands on its own. The way you reintroduce the main theme in this song blends so perfectly with the point where you're at in your journey. With something stranger even lurking ahead accentuated by the jaw harp. You're a rare creative talent. Love how you collected all the textures yourself from nature in Norway.
the realization that you're actually being pulled towards *something*
Last year my soul stayed in Nokkpond
Really gotta respect a game that uses Theodor Kittelsen illustrations as concept art.
The art of Thedor Kittelsen really nailed an anspect of northern nature. It was too good to not borrow!

The jaw harp is such an underrated instrument. Gives me tingles every time I hear it used.
Yeah it is an instrument with so much folk history!
It is one of the essential camp fire sounds, under the stars!

Seeing Nøkken as the cover art made me so excited to see her ingame, and you truly did our old friend justice! Incredible game

I didn't even notice the incorporation of the main theme before.
Forget Marebog this was the scariest level
Это наверное один из саиых лучших саундов в игре не ну с перформенсем конечно не сравниться но тлже мега ахуенный
it sounds like mechanical frogs
I REALLY wouldn´t like to meet them.
PoV you live in Florida.
