That’s the thing with small children. You can’t let them out of your sight for a “hot minute.” It’s crazy the trouble they can get themselves into so quickly.
The look on this kid's face in the picture from when he's found makes me think of the old pics of shell shocked ww2 and Vietnam War soldiers. So thankful this Lil boy is OK. It really is amazing. Poor baby, this is so good!
PLEASE PARENTS, THIS MAKES NO SENSE! ITS BECOMING COMMON NOW FOR SMALL CHILDREN TO GO MISSING AND THEN ARE FOUND! Our children are being kidnapped and antagonized into fear of his family being injured! So they say nothing and everyone's so happy the child's alive NO FURTHER ACTIONS ARE INVESTIGATED! Unethical Satanic organizations live amongst us in our Communities as neighbors, clergy, day care, local bar, grills, establishments, agencies! They are very tightly knit and in positions of trust, affiliated to connected organizations with Pedophile agendas. They are operating in plain sight and have access to our children's where abouts. Come on, OPEN YOUR EYES! TRUST NO ONE WITH YOUR CHILDREN, QUESTION AND INVESTIGATE EVERY MISSING, MISPLACED CHILD!!! Parents keep close ties with other parents when your kids get off an on the school buses, pay special attention to the children who are dropped off last, call each other, question your children, extreme HYPERVIGILANCE WITH MENTALLY DISABLED CHILDREN. Ask if they've been dropped off somewhere and picked up before being brought home! ❤️🙏
Thats a smart little boy right there!! He actually saved himself, if he had not found and took shelter when he did, he probably would not have survived this. Don't underestimate our little people, he's a hero!!!
So glad to hear the outcome of the story is positive so many times it takes a bad turn it's heartbreaking for anyone dealing with a loss of a child or simply a missing child
That photo of him in the hospital was very shocking, but I heard he was very happy to see his parents, so it seems hopeful that he will make a full psychological recovery. I hope that is the case and that he’s able to grow up to recognize how amazing it is that he survived on his own in the woods at such a young age.
Yeah I've heard stories like that. Kids saying they were carried away and fed by the "fuzzy man" and different things like that. I love watching the missing 411 stuff. Very strange things happen in the woods.
This child slept in a lawn mower bag? He is very smart; at 3 years old, no one has taught him survival skills, so that's impressive. I am so glad to hear he is okay.
I've seen it before..2-3 year olds wandering off. They can cover a lot more ground and more quickly than adults realize or are willing to believe. I'm so glad he was found unharmed.
@@pumpkindiamond994 Yes, absolutely. They may have little legs but they do have stamina when they want and the adrenaline of being lost is always a kick in the pants.
Yeah. Kids can go real fast honestly. I was one of those kids where I would be zooming outside directly onto the street slipping past my parents (who were blocking the way with their bodies to prevent me from escaping) where there were busy cars and I just thought it was a game. I was about 3 years old and even my teenage siblings couldn’t catch me.
@@IntrepidFraidyCat same!! My son was right next to me and when I turned I couldn't find him and was frantically screaming for him and running through the store and we found him at the front door greeting everyone! It was definitely a terrifying moment and after that, trust me, one hand on the cart and he had to hold my other hand from that day on! 🙂
For anyone wondering what actually happened: So the most reasonable story the cops have put together is actually that he lived kinda out in the country by mountain trails and got out of his house one day and started looking for bugs on the trail. He was just wondering around along the trails and realized he was lost. He thought if he kept going he could find his way home. He probably would have stopped except he really needed to get home so he kept walking even though he’s tired. He managed to make it 2.4 miles and lightning storms started. He found a cabin nearby and was smart enough to get into the cabin for the night instead of staying in the storms. Meanwhile his parents searched for him for 2 hours before calling the police and a full search was launched. Because they had waited 2 hours, Ryker was farther along than they searched. Once the storm started, they had to stop the search but continued on the next day, and the day after that. He had gone missing Friday afternoon and was found on Sunday in the cabin he had found shelter in. He was found by the owners of the cabin, and was returned to his parents. The reason he looked so traumatized in the second picture is because he was. He had stayed alone in a cabin during storms and not knowing if he was ever gonna see his family again for 2 whole days. He also had no food or water. As a 3 year old, the boy is able to talk so this is not a made up story, this is actually what the boy told the police, and what the police believe most likely happened. Also he was wearing different clothing when he was found, but one explaination is that he found those clothes in the cabin or maybe changed before he ran off without his parents knowledge. Either way, it’s not exactly an unsolved disappearance. It is still an open case because no one can say for sure what really happened. But at the current moment, this is the most widely excepted and most plausible explanation.
It seems like to me (and I hate to speculate here but..). I think he wasn't being watched very closely and honestly they have no idea WHEN he exactly went missing because someone wasn't being a very good babysitter. That's just my opinion though. 3 yrs old is that weird age where they're really kinda still a baby but they're tough. Hard headed and incredibly resilient. The most obvious explanation for the clothing (which is really weird IMO all on its own) is that they were his clothes. Maybe not the ones he went missing in but maybe older ones he had outgrown. My ten yr old has quite a bit in her closet that she's outgrown because it seems like she's having growths spurts every other day and twice on Sundays. So the clothing was probably his but how did he have it on hand? Did he change in it before he went missing and they just really weren't paying a damn bit of attention or ... Did he bring a little bag with him? So many questions. There are so many weird stories of people (particularly males for some reason) going missing in, near or around forests and national parks. Weird stuff.
Just saw this now so very late to comment I know. BUT I fully agree and think there is way more to this than has been shared. He was 3 years old at the time....appears nobody was watching him???? who were the adults in charge of him at the time and also why are even the police or whoever just saying " oh he was used to playing on the trails oit the back" and seemed to have just gone off on his now. I am all for self confidence and not hovering over children let them explore a little but a child at that age you still need to be WITH them as they do that...within eyesight and quick reaching sight just incase. I sure hope the authorites investicated further about this Quite shocking if this was it.
Ryker looks like a right little character. He reminds me of the “actually” kid. This Sherriff was engaging, warm, and I felt like I was right there with him as the events unfolded. Would love to hear more of his stories. Especially appreciate him sincerely acknowledging the volunteers, thank you to everyone who helped contribute to Rykers safe return. This goes to show that teaching your kids how to ask for help if you’re lost in the bush is just as important as the shopping centre, and from the moment they can walk (not to mention staying away from water without a big person). Every parent has a story of the day they lost their kid for a minute, or five minutes, or ten- the utter panic and turning hysterical. For 99.9%, they find their child within a few minutes and are flooded relief, and it becomes a story. But, for the 0.1% who don’t become lucky, they are thrust into a nightmare- from there, most don’t get the happy ending that Ryker and his family did. Yet the other 99.9% of parents who lost their children for five minutes quickly forget their own whisker near-misses, parsing judgement. “You can’t ever let your child out of your sight, even for a second”. There but for the grace of God.
I believe the storms are what saved his life its because of them storms, rain, thunder, winds that kept all the preditors out there sheltering as well. this little boy definitely had an Angel watching over him so glad he was found safe and sound. 👍🙂
As it was reported locally. The people that owned the cabin upon hearing about the lost boy. Decided to go up to thier property and look around for the Boy. Let's hear from the people that Found The Boy. Best Wishes! M.H.
TFS. That was very helpful info. These stories often leave out some of the most important details. I found myself wondering, if no one was there when he peeked in the cabin windows, and they weren’t there 80 or 90% of the time, how did they hear him whimper???
They always say it was cops who found the kid.. the murderer and victim- it was us kids who found the dead body here when I was 15 and in the papers of course they said cops found her.

I think a lot of people don’t realize how far and quickly a child this age can go, because all they’ve experienced is their child’s movements when they’re always around. Thank God that he was found🙏🏽 My own son who is now 50 years old was also quite adventurous as a toddler, so much so that as a 2 year old if I left him in our living room and went upstairs to get something he would pull a chair up to our front door , take the chain lock off and take off to his little friend's house 2 houses down . I was frantically searching for him, calling his dad at work ,about to call police until the other mom was walking up the street with him - he had gone visiting 😂 then another occasion, we were in a department store, I let his little hand go for a moment so I could pick up and examine an article of clothing ,he took off , ducking around aisles ,I searched everywhere, had store security searching, the store went on 'lock down' as we searched ,I found him hidden in a rack of clothing laughing like we were playing "hide and go seek" . My son was an independent little rascal and we now laugh as I tell him that I thought he was trying to get me committed to an asylum before he was 3years old of course it was no joke at that time. He was an inquisitive toddler, confident and a wanderer. After those incidents, if I left a room I made him come with me (told him I needed his help and going to a store (sorry folks but) I used a leash attached to his wrist with the other attached to mine , he didn't like it but I bribed him by buying him a little treat of some sort. Thank God we both lived through it and he now has 2 adult children of his own ,my beautiful grandchildren 🙏🏽

First off, he did not find them, the owners of the cabin where checking on things and found the little boy in their shed. Secondly, why the hell did it take 2 hours before the police where called to report him missing? Thirdly, why was this little boy left alone for so long without supervision? I was thinking the same thing too. But kids can move so fast it will blow your mind. I didn't leave my kids outside. I left them upstairs on the bed with snacks watching TV while I washed dishes downstairs and then ran down to the basement to just move the load in the dryer to the basket and the load in the washer to the dryer. What a survivor little Ryker is. The after picture of when he was found is truly haunting to me, he doesn't look like the same kid. And before someone says something about that, yes of course I don't think I would have looked the same either if I was found 2.4 miles deep into a forest in the middle of a rainstorm with no food water and sleep BUT it's just something about his eyes. Sure, his eyes could be that wide because of fear, shock or dehydration but comparing the two images of Ryker together he just doesn't look like the same boy. The lighting between the two pictures are different but upon further research, in all other photos I've found of Ryker he has orange hair. ( I am also accepting the fact that I could possibly be looking too deep into this. I'm also debating wether I should scrap this or not but I also want other peoples input on this. ) In the found photo, Rykers head looks bigger. That could also be the camera angle/lens, he is looking forward at the camera while in the before photo, the picture angle seems to have been taken at a higher point so Ryker's head seems to be pointed up just a bit. His eyes are closer together and his nose looks slim and rounded at the end compared to the before photo. But either of the images could have been stretched or slimmed to cause that affect. Maybe what's off to me is the way Ryker is smiling despite having been completely alone for 2 days in the wilderness 2.4 miles away from where he was last seen. Maybe I've been watching too many horror movies. Maybe this case triggered the horror geek within and caused me to start sputtering bullshit. Anyways, thank you for reading. Keep an eye on your kids or something, don't let impossibly horror and real life situations interfere with one another.
I think you overthink it, dont forget the little boy has no food drinks in more than 2days, the little one lost weight in the 2days. The before pic he smilled.the after pic total shock in his eyes

OP is right and I'm failing to see the point of these other responses 🙄 The father went *inside* the house--meaning he literally left his child outside and unattended. I don't care if it was 10 seconds, you cannot "be right back" with a 3 year old--especially with the wilderness as your backyard. He is so lucky his child was found safe and unharmed--though this little guy may have to deal with some subconscious trauma later in llife.
Why all the exclamation marks towards the kid who's 3 years old and wouldn't understand anyway isn't it the dad's fault for going in the house and leaving him alone outside even if it was for a quote unquote hot minute which I don't believe the kid got that far away in one hot minute
So glad that this child was found. Please tell your children that it's OK to get help when lost, scared or in danger. That you won't be angry at them. Kids need to be able to reach out for help vs. scared of getting punished. This child was so terrified that he refused to come out to ask for help. So sad.
God is Good!!!! This little cutie is definitely a survivor. And look at him still smiling after being found. He was probably so scared. That's what gets me every time. The little kids feeling so scared and alone. It always reminds me of when we moved into a new home. My daughter (who was 2 at the time) got up out of bed and didn't know the house too well yet and said she couldn't find me and all of a sudden I wake up because I'm hearing her cry and say "mommmmmmy, mommmmmy" 😢🥺🥺. I jump out of bed and fly into her room (this wasn't a normal cry, it was a terrified cry) and she's not there. I find her in the living room in between the curtains of the sliding glass door looking outside and crying because she thought I left her in this strange house all alone. Never in my life have I dropped to my knees so quickly and just hugged her and told her probably 100 times that I would never leave her ever and spent the next week making sure she knew where to find me if she ever woke up at night again. 13 years later and I remember that night like it was last night. I still hear the terror in her voice and can see her little hands up on the glass door. I'm pretty sure I cried more than her and even though it was no one's fault, I have lived with that guilt (and the guilt of a thousand other things, like most moms, I'm sure) every single day. Just typing this has made me get teary eyed. His parents will feel the guilt of this forever even though it probably wasn't their fault. I'm so glad he is safe and he looks like he needs lots of hugs and lots of French fries to get that weight back on that he lost!! Poor baby. I'm so glad this has a happy ending!!!
Are they sure he wasn’t taken there and left there by someone…maybe they kidnapped him and decided to bring him back or just left him in the shed for a moment to go do something else and then that’s when he was found…..never know…
He walked down the trail after Dad went in the house for how long? This kid didn't hear Dad calling for him and when the volunteers were looking and calling his name nothing. The sheriff said that we went to the playing place and he wasn't there. Because this little boy had a lead on them. Doesn't make sense. How low were the windows on this cabin for a short little three year old could see in? And how low was the door knob or if no door knob that cabin door was pretty light for him to open? The sheriff or officer sounds really Shakey during the questions before the shed. He accidentally said cabin and nervously said shed. Weird

@Ken Nah That must have been a scary moment for you!
For anyone wondering what actually happened:
So the most reasonable story the cops have put together is actually that he lived kinda out in the country by mountain trails and got out of his house one day and started looking for bugs on the trail.
@@katiejenkins4532i agree with you 💯
Just saw this now so very late to comment I know.
I sure hope the authorites investicated further about this
Quite shocking if this was it.

Thankfully the boy is ok! I hope he continues to thrive.
God Bless that Baby Boy and thank the police officer that found him. Thank y'all for your service. God was surely watching over that little boy
No one’s going to say ytf would u leave a small child alone outside
Finally a missing child story that has a happy ending!! This little boy will have some exciting stories to write about through his school years!😊
I am thankful to God he is ok but his father had to be in the house more than "A hot sec" for this little fellow to get that far. Parents, watch your children.
It doesn't take long for little legs but you must take your kids inside the house with you
I was thinking the same thing too. But kids can move so fast it will blow your mind. I didn't leave my kids outside. I left them upstairs on the bed with snacks watching TV while I washed dishes downstairs and then ran down to the basement to just move the load in the dryer to the basket and the load in the washer to the dryer. It was about 15 minutes total. But I foolishly thought Peppa Pig, snacks and the fact that it was 8 pm at night (though bright outside) would keep them put. I went back upstairs to an empty bedroom. Caught up to them around a corner down the road, with police.
@@ananse77 they unlocked the front door and ran outside? Do they know they’re not allowed to do that!? I hope they got put in time out for that
@@ananse77, wow! yes, we have to keep an eye on them at all times, they are fast. Thank God they were ok.

I remember sleeping in a bag in South Vietnam 🇻🇳 1968-1971 I survived being in a bag just a bit below ground many were gunned down during sleeping hours I made sure I was covered by ground...
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Parents, keep your eyes on your children at all times. Unbelievable!
That’s so much easier said than done. Toddlers and young children seem to magically disappear in seconds. Luckily, this tough kid instinctively survived.
No one knows how to raise children better than those with n o children.
@@numberone5680 "Easier said than Done" ..... It is NOT hard to watch a toddler ~ every moment...you HAVE to. When my son was a toddler, I ALWAYS had sight on him...and if I go in the house, I'm certainly taking him in as well and NOT leaving him outside even for a split second.
@@vickie2263 Great that you are 100% perfect. But parents are still human, and it IS a fact that these little ones can be very fast. And whatever lead to this boy wandering off, I'm sure the parents take it as a lesson.
Never leave a 2 year old alone. Even in a home.
He is 3
Great advice. A little late.
Yep. Pee with the door open and one eye on the kid. 🙄
You gotta pee sometimes.
This is terrifying. I’m so relieved he was found safe and sound. Don’t walk off again little man. !!!!!!!!!
Why all the exclamation marks towards the kid who's 3 years old and wouldn't understand anyway isn't it the dad's fault for going in the house and leaving him alone outside even if it was for a quote unquote hot minute which I don't believe the kid got that far away in one hot minute
so very very glad for mom and dad and family! lots of prayers!
The best of the best outcome!
Amazing I saw it all in my head as the sheriff was describing it.
Salute to the volunteers and the police who found him.Good thing he was found alive. What a brave little boy.
The family living in the farm is who found him not the search group.
You don’t leave a kid under five alone PERIOD outside especially somewhere with wildlife even for a “hot minute”
They always say a minute, moment or couple of seconds so they won't be judged for leaving a child for several minutes.
@@silentnight9655 "I only ran inside for 20 minutes"
Lol exactly a hot minute is still too long
@@silentnight9655 Sounds more like two hours...
I super agree
Oh my heart….. Thank God he was finally found, a day or so more would’ve been a whole different ending. Bless all that helped find him!
Angels were with this sweet boy. So glad he was found okay!
I got lost for.like 5 minutes when I was a kid........middle of.the city downtown Seattle......mom got lucky ....and spotted me
Are they sure he wasn’t taken there and left there by someone…maybe they kidnapped him and decided to bring him back or just left him in the shed for a moment to go do something else and then that’s when he was found…..never know…
He would've said it, kids are smarter than we give them credit for.
Such a beautiful cover of this story!!! God Bless this little miracle and his family and all the wonderful people involved in his search and rescue.
%100 something weird goin on there is no way a kid can do this
Put those pictures side by side..
Glory to God for keeping him save!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
He walked down the trail after Dad went in the house for how long?
This kid didn't hear Dad calling for him and when the volunteers were looking and calling his name nothing.
The sheriff said that we went to the playing place and he wasn't there.
Because this little boy had a lead on them.
Doesn't make sense.
How low were the windows on this cabin for a short little three year old could see in?
And how low was the door knob or if no door knob that cabin door was pretty light for him to open?
The sheriff or officer sounds really Shakey during the questions before the shed.
He accidentally said cabin and nervously said shed.
Weird
Spot on!
Wonderful story all parents can empathize with. The boy has been through a traumatic experience at a critical age of less than 4 years old. I hope the right psychological evaluation and intervention, if necessary, is utilized in a timely manner for him by his parents. I’m happy for them that they found their little angel in good health.
He’s fine, kids are resilient.
Therapy:
Father: Don't leave the yard by yourself ever again.
Riker: Okay, Daddy.
So is everyone going to ignore the pictures? Just look very close, all I'm going to say.
Thank you all. Praise. God for Ryker s. Intelligent little spirit and the peole who found him !! Thanks to the National Guard and all searchers. God bless you all !!!
