@@boltzzs I totally agree, I felt the same way when Game of Thrones came to an end, although time somehow went by really quick, in a way. (Didn't know House of the Dragon was out till you posted!) So hopefully it goes that way for the awaiting of season 2 😁 Aaaaa - so excited already haha

How is Alicent a scumbag? She has a very strong sense of Duty, especially in regards to Visarys. She herself doesn't even want aegon to become king, but she thinks the king did. She will now devote herself entirely to making Aegon king, out of her strong sense of Duty to visarys.
I dont think she is a scumbag, I just get real passionate and emotionally invested when watching the episodes haha but I do find her self righteous and hypocritical. She hides behind a false sense of honor or purity while doing shitty things behind closed doors. Aegon himself didnt even think about claiming the throne he has zero interest. He accepts Rhaenerya is to suceed his father But Alicents been drilling kingship in Aegons head since the earlier episodes. She went off viscerys words while he was clearly delirious on the milk of the poppy knowing he has wanted rhaenerya to rule for aslong as we can remember. She misunderstood Viscerys because she was looking for confirmation bias. Viscerys could have just said "boy" and she would take that as wanting Aegon on the throne. Her misinterpreting his final words about the prophecy just strengthens and justifies her own resolve enough to go through with it.

Alicent is being white-washed for the show so, in the books she knew about the small council plotting to put Aegon on the iron throne and she was hoping Rhaenyra would die in childbirth.
