When you're applying the epoxy make sure not to get any on the bearings. In your case you're using splitshots which are heavier. If the weight gets glued to one side then you'll have an issue of balance. I'm almost 100% sure that's what's causing the imbalance when retrieving

That model swims surprisingly well, printed a few of those awhile ago then started modeling my own which apparently takes forever lol. Great video.

Great to see other designs! I've even been using wood filament for cranks and pencil poppers. Splicer settings are a bit different than PLA, but if you enjoy sanding the finish to detail, I highly recommend trying it. PLA has its place, for me mostly glidebaits and jerkbaits, but I'm working with some prototype designs that I'm excited about. Play around with the fill density, hardware configuration and take a look at what lure part suppliers are offering in terms of hardware. My molds incorporate through-wire designs and some have the place holders for hook anchors. KBS seal coat, airbrush, topcoat and ready to go with minimal time and effort once you have models; I use Strata 3D CX.

Give the lure a dip in some epoxy or resin and then paint them instead of trying to do a bunch of tedious sanding

Hey nice video. i printed that one off and used a soldiering iron to melt the 2 pieces together and to embed my wire in a little better. it worked great!

Thanks! That's a great idea. I'll have to try that. Let me know how well they stay together.

Nice paint jobs! Idea: a bigger jerkbait maybe? I like that light colored one with the dark top. You're right about the chocolate colored water - bass will move shallower and closer to the bank and won't chase (due to visibility).

Great looking lures. I've been thinking about purchasing a 3D printer, myself. I'm gearing up to start fishing for catfish and would love to see something like a demon dragon.

Thanks! Check out my How to 3D print fishing lures video. That might give you a little more insight on the whole process. I never heard of the demon dragon. I’ll check it out!

Yeah I did, thinner wire will be easier to bend into the shape.
