They foster feelings of disgust in me by the way they look - half their body is severed, just hanging on by a thread, yet still they thrive - that's horror story material right there! 😱
Except the opening shot was of a different species. What we look for is essentially a large wasp, with a dark body and an orange stripe across the thorax. It's often found hovering near beehives, waiting to pick off returning worker beesa.

Sumone has supposed 2nd attempt of being taken 2 court against breeding Asian hornets in their garden by council, they failed originally 1st attempt cos of complaint. The house owner originally had beehives n hive has been vacant for several years, till few years ago Asian hornets starting breeding and building nest inside the hive, they did not bring Asian hornets in from outside Uk which council says they did, n make gud money from these hornets n have full suit for protection for work. The nest is within property boundary n council want access 2 destroy it, where does the home owner stand on this with wat other means the council has to throw at them?
People can't tell thr difference between wasps and bees, telling the european hornet from Asian hornets will be beyond most folks. As a pestie i find Euro hornets less agressive than wasps...
