I just finished putting my saw together with the help and aid of your videos!! I do appreciate the videos for sure!! But if you are going to do another one, try to include more close-up shots of the parts and how they go in. I am not by any stretch of the imagination a mechanic!! So having those shots would have saved me from pulling parts off and trying to zoom in around your hat! Lol. There were some things you did off-camer that you did not explain you just said you did them, but all in all it was helpful for the step-by-step direction. For a person who has never done a saw build before it was a challenge to follow along.
That’s the best way to make it. Takes longer but I get the best syrup possible and all the people that get it from me love it. Most of my equipment is built by myself also.
T27. I have the Stihl t handle wrench because I couldn’t find anything local that was long enough to reach the cylinder bolts. Glad you enjoy the video. Good luck with your build!
All 3 videos are great. Do these "kits" come with any instructions/diagrams? Do they include the tool you used to pull the crankshaft into the bearings or those piston ring tools?
No they do not come with any instructions or tools. I downloaded the Stihl MS660 manual for assembly and I ordered the crank puller and piston ring tools from eBay.
@@shrunkenskulloutdoors Ebay has lots of hits on 'Piston Ring Compressor', but I think you were using this one: 'Proline® Piston Ring Compressor Tool Kit For Husqvarna Stihl Chainsaw Trimmer'

@@shrunkenskulloutdoors thats one of my favorite memories of my grandfather's tree farm in upstate NY.
I had one of those piston clips shoot across the room and i found it haha 1 in a million chance haha
That’s a day you go buy a lottery ticket. 😂
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. My saw should be here in a week or so. What size torx drivers are needed for assembly? Thx again.

@@davidhawley1132 I really don’t know what specific one I used. I just bought the cheapest one with a decent seller feedback and went with it.
What a beast!
good job bro
Is it much cheaper to buy the kit as against built ?
It was cheaper when I bought mine. Was over $100 less but I bought it just to build it myself.
How many hours did the assembly take you?
Assembly time was about an hour and a half.

So the Video is more or less real time?
@@Holzplatz yes it is.
Keren bro
We don’t need no stinkin’ base gaskets.
