Absolute pure gold. I am struggling mightyly trying to execute this move. It is not easy for someone who comes OTT as you so accurately point out. Old habits are hard to break. IMHO, this is one of you best videos, thank you so much. Well done, Sir.
Try these two different moves . If when you put the club behind the ball the shaft is more upright swing more around than up. If when you put the club behind the ball the shaft is more at 45 degree angle then you want more of a upright swing
This is one of the very best videos detailing how to get into the delivery position that I have ever seen. One of the many surprising features from the pro videos was how little supination appeared in the lead wrist-hand approaching impact. Plus the accurate and detailed description of the trail shoulder, elbow and wrist at the delivery position. Thank you.
Harvey Penick recommended practicing the swing really slowly, and suggested practicing beginning the hip slide and bringing the elbow into the side a third of the way, then doing that again several times before doing the full swing. I never understood this elbow move, and its relationship to the hand position, until today. Great video!
This is the first time I've ever seen this, and it is the best advice/tip/TRUTH I've ever heard. I finally understand what Ben Hogan and Moe Norman were talking about. Hogan said he wished he had 5 right arms at impact. He must have believed the right arm is where power comes from, yet all coaches teach to use your left for power. This is unnatural and is probably why so many golfers struggle with the game. I strongly believe that both left and right thumbs must be in alignment, ON the back of the shaft. Opposing each other exactly. Having the hands in two different positions makes no sense whatsoever. Thanks for the video, I'm hooked on your teaching now. Great job.
Love your instruction. What works best for me when coming down is to think "right side crunch". That way my arms don't move down while leaving my body / ribcage behind.
Thanks! as long as you are driving off the right leg that's a good feel. If not, you'll hang back and block it. Keeping the arms from flying away from the body too early increases the moment arm for more leverage
Thanks for allowing your tip to be viewed. It makes a lot of sense. I'm looking forward to taking your tip to the range. If I do it correctly, it should help me a lot.
I just got to the channel today and ask some questions, but out of sequence. I’ve consumed a lot of golf yt, this is exactly what I havnt seen. Thanks for the visual details.
I've been a flipper for years. For 1+yrs, I've mainly been working on the position of the trail arm. However, internal rotation of the left arm during delivery, for me, may have been the missing link. I previously constantly hit off the toe of irons. Not anymore. THANK YOU!!
When i started golf, I released the club like that and always thinking it was a flip because of some articles (Kelvin Myahira) or pro video on RUclips. Now my golf is better because I dont care about that. If the impact position is good and Numbers are good, well done!
I thought at first it was “ The Fairway Jesus” providing instruction: As a high handicap golfer this is the only instruction I will need to achieve good ball striking, the rest is up to me to implement your guidance at the driving range , and once honed to perfection I hope to win back some of the cash I lost to my friends, your cut 5% but don’t spend it yet ? Thanks for the help and adding to my enjoyment of the game.
I can get to the delivery position consistently, but to strike the ball is where things go wrong. I thin it like i cant get back down to the ground. What donyou do next after you get to the delivery position. Thanks for the video.
Recently started videoing my swing and I had no idea I was doing the flip and had no idea how to fix it. This video really has helped me understand it. Now on to fixing it. I have a question for the downswing. For a right-handed golfer, should you feel that you are pulling down on the club handle with the left hand or the right more? Does this make sense?
I feel I carefully watched your videos my comment is about throwing from the top I can’t see any hand action as if they were throwing out from the top and the club stands up, rather it looks as the club stands up with the lowering of the arms their hands their hands don’t show any signs of change of the position of the hands until the “delivery position” it’s confusing if I throw from the top the club stands up way to early yes there is speed but way to early the lower body can’t catch up
The movement as I showed in a previous video in many cases like Olesen's is only about 5 degrees to start, you're not going to see that very well on video. Some do it a lot more, so do it less. If you're lower body can't catch up, you aren't shifting your pressure correctly: rotaryswing.com/c4/112537-the-4-pressure-shifts-of-the-modern-golfer
Thank you, I’m 62 8 handicap with an average 100 mph swing speed but I feel there is more in the tank, some RUclips videos say throw from the top as fast as you can others say stay passive with hand allowing for shift and rotation before throwing, I currently don’t feel active with arm and hands until the delivery position letting gravity get them to the delivery, when I actively speed me hands up where hand speed data has shown to be the fastest, it reeks havoc with my tempo, I’m sure there is something I am missing🤔thanks again 👍

Thank you for the dead video I think no I’m sure I don’t keep the shoulders in back swing rather I start the moving at a similar time, I can see though how you are using the lower body to throw the shoulders and arm I will practice what you instructed and will let you know the results, thanks again much appreciated 👍👍
Dozens of lessons said no wrist flipping, end of the the day , it just compensating your handicap. Wrist flipping is crucial. I have reverted back and my elbow pain is gone and it's just a smooth swing operating system. FLIP your wrist in proper angle. Lock your right wriat and palm. Period.

Great instructional video on delivery!
The background is legendary.
Excellent lesson, articulately explained.

Bobby Jones' breakdown of the left wrist thro impact is amazing. Lots of people nowadays would call that flipping.
Yep!

Just a guess but the shafts of that era would require a different release. They weren't stiff enough to hold shaft flex.

Covered in detail in the goat code videos on the site
Instead of thinking " I now hit the ball" from the top I now will think " I move to GDP"
Where was this video shoot?

Is this why Hogan said he wished he had 3 left hands?
