    Did you know that Caligula was not called Caligula. That was his nickname because when he was little he loved to wear soldier boots, and Caligula meant little boot. (Also Caligula was born in an Army Camp) like this comment if it helped.

      I believe his birth name was Gaius Germanicus. He really hated that nickname.

    • @admontblanc
      @admontblanc 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@Theringodair his name was almost the same as that of his grandfather Augustus, but with Germanicus (from his father) added in the end.

    In actual history Caligula did order his legions to go to beaches and stab the water when he declared war on Poseidon.

    Poor Emperor Gaius Julius Ceaser Augustus Germanicus, nobody can seem to remember his real name.

      It was Gaius Germanicus. By sadly we remember his nickname.

      @@Theringodair no it was as this guy said it. That was the emperor's full name.

      @@admontblanc I got him confused with Caligula. Apparently Caligula was a nickname given to Gaius Germanicus by the soldiers and he hated it.

    Oh yeah, if you were a Japanese and has a touch of the Ancient World History, add 'Ba' to his name of the emperor. We have 'BACALIGULA'

    Wouldnt he have said Neptune rather than Poseidon

    • @16shogunelitegreen

      @16shogunelitegreen 9 лет назад +4

      Camaroni1000 Neptune is the Roman God of the sea indeed. And if Caligula fought Neptune, the romans would see him fighting against rome, so by fighting poseidon, he is fighting the greek. No wat i mean

    • @Camaroni1000
      @Camaroni1000 9 лет назад

      Oh i get what you mean now. Don't know if this is true or not but if he used the word im going to wage war on the sea doesn't that also involve Neptune or is it just this video

    • @16shogunelitegreen
      @16shogunelitegreen 9 лет назад

      that i don't know myself. there was the sketch in season 1 with Simon Farnaby as Caligula and he mentioned Poseidon. He tells Jim and Mat that he lives in the sea so Mat announces war with the sea. so yeah im clueless myself about that part
