I did the same trip in 2018 in the sleeper class . The bedding was clean. I enjoyed the scenery both countryside and town areA where the train goes within metres of houses. What a good experience.
Just took a train in Vietnam for the first time. We didnt enjoy the experience and felt the same way you did. Your honesty is appreciated and welcomed. Its ok to not enjoy something that others have seemed to enjoy, according to other RUclips travel videos.
I took that train too. There was a mouse riding with us on the train, but nothing bad. Take some snacks with you, so that you can share food with other passengers.
Sorry for your bad experience. However, just like everywhere in the world, you pay for what you get. Moreover, I think your tour guide did not do a good job at that time. The train that you took traveling from Hanoi to Saigon, Nha trang is right in the middle of its journey. There were bunch of passengers getting on/off the train between the stations. So there is no doubt that cleanliness is the big concern. Instead, local people would take the other train called SNT1 travels from Nha trang to Sg. With approximate $25, you get a bed with AC running along the trip. So do research unless you want to experience while you travel.
Traffic is more chaotic than Thailand. Food is has a lot of similarities. Although sandwiches is not common in Thailand. Vietnam has younger population unlike Thailand which its demographic slow down
I'm Vietnamese, but I also don't like to take the train because it's very unhygienic. hygiene and cleanliness is the minimum you have to do it is completely unrelated to development. Even at the international airport, the bus stop is unspeakably dirty. hope that business organizations are more strict in hygiene management.
to be honest, the soft seating is same class fee as hard sleeper.the reason why Vietnam railways made you feel worrst because only studing cutted cost from china railways.
My man, don't take train travel in Vn if you want comfortable ride. Vietnam railroad is 100+ yr old, people take railroad to saving money rather then having a good ride.
Vietnam's development has been hindered by the French occupation and war caused by Americans, give them another 20 years and they will catch up to China's standard. Whatever the condition, Vietnamese have their pride as they never conquered or harmed others.
I'm just 1,5 minutes in, and I'll just say - this is a 3d world country. Adjust your expectations beforehand. Be prepared. Stop whining and enjoy the experience. Hell, I had an 8-hour delay in SA at arrival in Joburg from Cape Town. That's Africa, I said to myself. Some of you vloggers are a bit too much of a snowflake IMO. But I'm 55 and I've seen and experienced stuff. I've known the world without internet. And I easily coped. I'm actually most likely to go on that very train next year - and I'll enjoy it, since I've been around and can anticipate .

Thanks! Some people don't understand the concept of a review.

Hilarious from start to finish, well done! I love the fact that Jack takes all these trains so that ordinary travelers don't have to.
06:20 - You snatched my words and my keyboard, typewriter keys away, even thought the fingers revolted.
Mrs. H. Most intriguing. Keep up the good work and we like to see what your eating and where your sleeping.

Bro, Mrs. H is certainly not his tour guide if you know what I mean 😂I think he convinced her to take this train, not the other way around.
thanks for taking the ride and showing us, so that the rest of us don't have to take it.😁
Hello I am Thai could you tell me please how different in Thailand? I mean traffic,Food, people I never been to Vietnam. Thanks

We don't travel with Train anymore. Airplane , highway , or ship sometimes seem like better options.
If this was the worst train you ever used, you haven't seen lots of the world.
He has seen more than you will ever see...
There's also a sleeper cart
I thought many vloggers enjoyed their rustic train rides there, so they are giving half truths

There is a reason why i will never take Vietnam railway as a VNamese

isnt every country 3d
IT should be the narrow gauge railway built by Franch hundreds years ago
it is fine for me. Just cannot stand the guy putting his feet in that way
I think you get what you pay for and you have way to high expectations and maybe do some more research
I Love Viet Nam ❤❤❤
try indonesian train
Seriously, even laos has better railways
Laos has the second best train in the whole SEA
Just use it as museum exhibits.
Way better Indonesia train railways 😁
Very true.
