And what about the bluetooth? I have a Sony VGN-NW250 Vaio that has only single band wifi and I put a combo card in (two brands, BC included but not Intel) and the BT never works.

I replaced a really old chip with this and was really suprised is used m. 2 slots i thought it was PCI-E slots so thanks :)

Excellent instructions. I purchased the same Intel 7265 card for my Toshiba Satellite laptop for the same reasons that you cite - for a faster wi-fi connection. The original card was an Intel 7260. I followed the same procedures that you used in order to have the appropriate Intel drivers ready.
Result: the wi-fi now is faster. PROBLEM: no bluetooth. I had bluetooth with the 7260 card.
Put the 7260 card back in , and bluetooth worked, but the wi-fi was again slower.
With the 7265 installed again, I've done everything possible, as suggested on the web, to get the bluetooth to function. It still doesn't. Do I perhaps have a defective 7265 card? Is there a way to discover if this is so?
did you solved this or was it a faulty card? just got the same problem with the same card, bluetooth function disappeared from it.
I have this same laptop so slow I'll. Be buying this card thank you for the video on this I'll be back to let you know how it went

It's very hard to determine compatibility. My HP Envy Dv4 will only accept certain WIFI cards while my DV7 will accept any WIFI card I can put in the slot. The best way to find out is to try it. If you buy it at Amazon: amzn.to/1V21CCx you can always return it if it does not work for you. Thanks.

From what I can tell your laptop does not accept this form factor size. I believe it needs the larger card like the Intel 7260 (check it yourself or call Sony) here it is at Amazon amzn.to/1sKNiaZ It's best to check and see what form factor you have before you order to see if it will fit. I have no idea whether the Sony will accept the card. I have another HP Envy DV4 which will physically accept the 7260 but the bios has a white list that blocks me from putting anything but an HP card into it. I have no idea if Sony does this or not. I suggest calling Sony up to see if you can just put the Intel 7260 in. After you have checked what form factor your WIFI card is you could always roll the dice and order the card and try it. Amazon has an amazing return policy if it does not work for you. Thanks.

What are you doing that an 11 is not fast enough?.
LOL. The Broadcom card that came with this laptop, besides being slow, was a nightmare to work with in Linux. I prefer Intel cards for that reason alone, they work well and play nice with most operating systems. I was glad to be rid of the Broadcom card. I forgot to mention that I recently rescued a TP-Link Archer C9 1900AC router and I wanted to connect to it as fast as I could reasonably afford. Thanks.
Richard Lloyd You lost me with Linux, my 2008 Dell laptop £700 was built to a friends spec for me, it has Intel Bluetooth, she`s still going strong one re install of Windows vista owing to crash, im now an avid Android tablet fan.
Cool. If you love Android you love Linux as Android is based on the Linux Kernel. I only use Android in all my tablets and phones. Very robust and reliable. Thanks.
