Everyone is going to certainly have differing opinions, even on the best art! :) That being said, the principle of contrast still applies and should be noted when working on a piece. If someone wants to make an intentional choice to avoid it, that's fine. It just should be intentional, not accidental.
@@FredtheMonkeyDotCom i certainly think it was the case with this art here. Adding contrast was not needed. I think the artist made the conscious choice to make it more bland. The problem is, the way the guy in the video explains, it seems that adding more contrast was the way to go on this one, and said the result was much better. No it was not. I'm sorry but some things are that objective in art. The piece intentionally lacked contrast, so if he's going to meddle with that, he needs to be aware that he is changing the intention, style wise. He simply added a filter and called it a day.

I liked the drawing more before you added all that contrast.. What's wrong with having muted colors?
