The 450 is a great candidate it's not too heavy And as a tall guy I love the seat on the 450 it's so comfortable can't stand the concave seats where you're pushed up into the gas tank.
Nice to see someone doing work on something other than top of the line models. These people spend $30k+ to trail ride when you’re top speed is 30mph. Doing a build on a 05' Sportsman 800. Just bought all the snorkel plumbing, black, with Ryobi green are the colors... thinking to myself as I am watching this what a pain in the ass painting the 45's green is going to be just as you whip out your blue bushings......genius! So I did a little twist on your idea. I rounded the side showing on your install down with a bench grinder. There was raised PVC lettering on the round end (Opposite of your install end) that I did not want to show, so I used an orbital sander and sanded those off. Sanded all pieces with 120 grit sandpaper. This is my paint process for plastic in case anyone is interested. 1.Rustoleum adhesion promotor-251572 ....2 coats about 5 minutes apart 2. Rustoleum 2X Key Lime (We call it Ryobi Green around here) 327871 3 coats about 5 minutes apart. 3. Rustoleum Acrylic Enamel Gloss Clear 271913... 2 coats about 5minutes apart. 4. Spraymaxx Clear Coat SK (2 part Epoxy-spray cans) .... 2 coats ( MUST wear a respirator and not necessary for these parts....I was working on some other parts and the cans only have about a 24-hour shelf life, so use it or lose it scenario...) I love the idea of snorkels they just make it so much harder to do maintenance after you install them. I've already ruined too many 4 wheelers. Now as rule of thumb if it's over the tires it to deep Now my only problem is my tires are too big lol.
And when you do cement, you need to clean the male and female connector not just the male, and when you put it in it should go on amd twist a ¼-½ a turn into place to "lock" the glue. Or else its not bonded correctly, will it work in your application? Probably but its definitely not a solid bond as intended

Didn’t end up doing them in this video, the stock vent lines run up to the headlight so they’re pretty high up. I ended up just putting bellows in the ends of the vent hoses in a different video. So ya didn’t miss anything lol
@@garageforty2 one more question.. the link for the elbow that has the insert on one end and slip on on the other end says it’s 1 1/2. Will that work or will I need to find a 2” one. I know the insert side needs to be 1 1/2” but what about the other side? I think both sides of that one is 1 1/2”. Thanks again for your help.
That one works because it’s 1 1/2 inside diameter so the outside fits into the adapters nicely. It’s tough because you may also be able to find a 2” that works.
Did you watch the same video I did? Covers the stacks to the hose to the couplers to the intake/exhaust hookup what is left other then he didn't mention vent lines for the difs

They are all zip tied under the top headlight from factory(the high beam light). It dosent look like he did but if you want to use the full length of the snorkel it would be a good idea.

@@240sxslideordie so the machine already has vent lines for the front and rear differentials, (they're just 1/4''hoses so they can breathe)stock they run up to the headlight. Some people extend the hoses or put bellows on to keep water out. Not totally necessary unless your going headlight deep a lot.

The right clutch kit and a tune you can make a 450 zing along pretty good Like you said how fast do you really need to go in the trails 30 tops.

From what I’ve seen so far it’s been fine, now I’ve also installed a clutch kit so that may help too.

Yeah, the hose goes on hard but you should be able to get it.

U think your whole belt box and air box can go under water and be fine ? With silicone

How hard is the fan to take out and clean behind it on the 450

Where did you get the inch and a half to 2 inch elbows I have looked everywhere and can’t find them

@@caseyevans4971 usually the fuel tank, trans and coolant reservoir. Like I said I only ended up doing the 2 so far so good!

You wouldnt have had to grind those barbs off if you would have just heated that pool hole up a little with a heat gun.
