Good job super dave osborne, glad you didnt break any bones..Thats alot of tire for that 450,other commentors had good idea on tune,I had my 570 outlander flash tuned for my HMF pipe leaned it out,so got a fatter fuel cure added to also help run cooler.
Theres a good glue you can put on the lip before you seal tire, and only wet the inside lip of tire, the glue helps seal and also at low psi tire wont pop off bead
I’d be curious to see how the 499cc motor in the Sportsman 450 would respond to a tune. I think that would be a great next idea for an upgrade on your machine. I’ve heard people do tune these things and that Polaris has them so detuned from factory that they respond well to some tinkering. Great vids! I’m enjoying your content.
I have a 2018 450 i run 27 Mega mayhem's on mine and they do great in the mud i haven't had to put my machine in 4×4 since i put those tires on!! And i ride in that thick grey Florida clay and black mud!! Love those tires! I have different wheels tho
I have a 2021 Sportsman 450. I was thinking about getting the same tires but I don’t want to do any modifications to it. Do you think they will fit and run good without any?
bike looks awesome with those tires! I have a 2021 sportsman 570 with the same wheels but would like to install those tires to get a little more mudding capable. Would you mind giving me the tire sizes both front and back?
I just put lift kit on my 2018 sportsman 450 I am looking into tires I want to keep factory rim but I am looking at the rod and wondering what kind of clearance you got between there with no spacer I think mine is 1 inch
I have a question ,can a engine break be added to a 450 sportsman?? Our 450s do fine in our county/foothill of NC, but I am concerned when we go to the Hartfield and McCoy trails.. Where a decent can be a mile or more! I thought when, I bought our 2019 and 2020 450S it was like my 2005 500 sportsman with a engine break!
how are your clutches holding up have you had to upgrade or have they been alright I got a 2020 450 ho eps and i’m looking to buy some mega mayhems or some outlaws.
you might need a clutch to spin those 28 tires..unless you want to run it in low gear. i have a 2013 500 ho and i put all new ss rims on it but i went with swamp light tires,,awesome .you should look at getting a set of rims for that bike..hideous stock rims. i couldnt wait to change mine out.
Thanks for watching! I actually did a clutch kit on her, couple videos too on it if ya get bored lol I’d love to put rims in it! Stocks are terrible! Only problem is $$ lol swamp lights are a good choice!
Did you end up doing any sort of clutch kit? I’m getting 28’s for my 2017 450 and I’m only looking for my clearance for snow/slush on the ice this winter. I don’t mud or anything, will I do damage to my wheeler without putting a clutch kit in?
I do end up doing a clutch kit from EPI and it works really well, would definitely recommend it! Really shouldn’t do damage but the performance is better with it. They make a trail kit since you don’t do mud.
@@jackpatchin2523 toward the end of the video I ran them on some pavement, I really didn't think they where too bad.Obviously that's not what their for but once in a while they'll do ok.

Hey, thanks for watching! Glad your enjoying! I'll definitely look into that tune!
Did you have to put spacers in the front? I’m confused why mine didn’t fit

Awesome! Yeah I can't wait to try these tires in the mud!
I run 28” Mudzillas! And yes a clutch kit help get that power lost you feel!
Awesome! Thanks!
What mph up get up to after clutch kit
@@DeerMeat2xTV actually haven’t done a clutch kit yet.
@@garageforty2 I just ordered a dalton clutch kit and I’m going with 27 zillas
Maybe the lift kit raises it enough so you don't need wheel spacers. My dealer told me if need spacers for 26-9-12
Possibly, I would think it’d work but it probably depends on the actual tire width.
I have a 2021 Sportsman 450. I was thinking about getting the same tires but I don’t want to do any modifications to it. Do you think they will fit and run good without any?
They would fit it'd be snug, but I would recommend a clutch kit to turn them over better.
Do a led headlight upgrade. And how to get the low beam lighrs to stay on with high beams lights.
Yeah I’ll have to look into it!
bike looks awesome with those tires! I have a 2021 sportsman 570 with the same wheels but would like to install those tires to get a little more mudding capable. Would you mind giving me the tire sizes both front and back?
Sure! Sizes are 28”x9x12 front and 28x11x12 rear
@@garageforty2 thank you sir.
Thing about mud tires they do shake bit on hard pack or hwys . Mine came with 28 zillas does same but i can live with it nice have that tread lol .
Agreed! they are worth it for the tread!!
The 28 inch tires fitted without any modifications or spacers ?
No modifications needed, I ended up doing spacers, but not required.

Ok Thanks for the info. 🤝👍
I just put lift kit on my 2018 sportsman 450 I am looking into tires I want to keep factory rim but I am looking at the rod and wondering what kind of clearance you got between there with no spacer I think mine is 1 inch
so with the stock wheels and no spacers 9'' wide mayhems clear the tie rods by like 1/4'' - 1/2'', definitely close but will clear.

Yeah! Awesome! The fronts are 9'' wide

I have a 2011 sportsman 500 HO and I was curious if I can put 28x9s on the front of it without any modification or spacers with the stock wheels?
I’m honestly not sure, I’ve heard mixed things some say you’ll need spacers, some say you don’t.
How is the clearance on the rear tires?
Plenty of room!
Do you have wheel spacers on it
no spacers
I’m going to put a exhaust on mine
cool! let me know how it works out!
How did the stock belt hold up with no clutch kit?
It did good, I ended up doing a clutch kit anyway not long after
you might need a clutch to spin those 28 tires..unless you want to run it in low gear. i have a 2013 500 ho and i put all new ss rims on it but i went with swamp light tires,,awesome .you should look at getting a set of rims for that bike..hideous stock rims. i couldnt wait to change mine out.

What do you think if I do 28’ on stock like you only do x9 all way around?
Would work, I thought about doing that myself.
@@garageforty2 is there a ride difference to do 9 all way around or 10s or is staggered mostly popular
can you run the 28x11-12 in the front as wel as the back?
11” wide would rub the tie rod, I’d say no. 9” wide in the front is really close as it is. Unless you get different offset wheels or spacers.
@@garageforty2 awesome thank you for the quick response! Gonna be ordering me some now!
Awesome!!
Did you have to use spacers in the front?
Nope no wheel spacers.
@@garageforty2 awsome brother thank you
What tier psi did u run in ur mega mayhem.
usually like 8-10
How heavy are these tires with the rim?
Honestly not sure on that
🤝😎👍
Look into an RVS Performance tune and a QSC clutch kit.
Cool I’ll check out RVS, I ended up already doing the EPI clutch kit, thanks for the info!
This 450 seems slow vs mine and they are the same year and I run 28’s
You should gain top end speed with 28s right?
I actually lost top speed, it takes a lot more work to turn the bigger tires.
@@garageforty2 does it still do ok spinning them? Can you break them loose?
Surprisingly yeah it still can break them loose!
@@garageforty2 probably going with a 26 inch mud tire that weighs in at 37 pounds. Look like I’ll have no problem spinning them
