Thank you! That was very helpful. Especially because I wanted to buy a 2022 Volkswagen T-Cross, and I wanted to know if it includes AEB (also interurban). Because I saw that it has two small sensors in the lower front grille. But I figured those are just the ones for slower speeds? I will go to the Volkswagen dealership and ask them if they could remove the front logo, so I can check if it also has AEB Interurban. Thanks for the help!
Hi, really useful video. Do you know if this is the same for the VW Polo Mk6 (2020)? My bage is cracked although ACC seems fine so just looking to unclip the badge and clip in a new one
thanks for the hint. when cleaning the radar, how to do it? I guess that wiping with a bit of alcohol all black surface will do. What about the small silver square? thanks
Clean it as you would normally clean your car doesn’t need to be anything different really just don’t put any pressure on it as such as you could knock the calibration out
@@TheVWMechanic_official Thanks. After cleaning and everything in place it keeps warning ACC and front assist not available from time to time, but works ok rest of times. I heard the emblem could influence (in fact i see emblems sold with "ACC compatible" descriptions) but not sure if that is just because their size and thickness is ok not to physically interfere with the radar or because they are really made of special plastics ... What's your best guess on why this failure? calibration? I hear that is expensive... thanks!
Also: another small question I’ve been curious about: when I went to a Volkswagen dealership, there was a new model called „Taigun“ as far as I know it’s kind of like the Indian version of the T-Cross. When I navigated to the safety systems in the entertainment display I found the option „Front Assist (Forward collision warning)“ where usually it should say „Front assist (Autonomous emergency braking)“. But when they gave me a Data sheet it said it DOES Include emergency braking…Does that mean the new Taigun does or does not have AEB? Not sure if you can help me but thank you still! (The trim I took a look at at the dealership was the comfortline)
Hi do you know if there is any way to fit these badges more securely? Had my sensor stolen recently (seems to be a huge increase recently) and it's so easy to take the badge off i can see it happening again. thinking even just a metal cable tie as a deterrent?
All different buddy depending on what car it is so my best advice is to call your local Volkswagen site with your chassis number and they can give you the correct part numbers
I have to advise getting it sorted asap to avoid adverse effects but you’ll probably only notice a light on the dash and none of your features involving the radar will work
Thanks. I was on the M1 yesterday, and front of my Passat was struck by a piece of bouncing rubber hose At 60mph. 20 minutes later I get EBA/ACC amber warnings (I think it was at this point the badge fell off !) Sensor holding bracket is cracked, badge is gone and will need re-calibrating. I'm guessing big ££££ ? If anyone finds the badge pls send to me !
Hey buddy sorry to hear this happened to you but if the badge is off it’s likely it ain’t going back on so new one needed and if it hasn’t damaged the radar it will be a repair bracket and calibration
I was kidding about sending it to me 😉 … I have a feeling the surrounding frame to clip it into has lost a piece as well, so probably a new grille also 😢 I keep telling myself it could have been a lot worse Thanks for your reply
@@TheVWMechanic_officialsorry, going back to this, I need to replace my bracket, it appears to be cracked. If I disconnect the sensor will it cause any fault lights to appear when reconnected ? Cheers

Behind the badge is assisted cruise control and brake assist buddy and lane assist is usually in the windscreen at the top
Right on! This was very helpful. Thank you!
Thankyou so much for this brilliant comment :)

Hey thanks for the comment yes this method should be very similar to your polo

It would need diagnosing properly buddy but if it’s a genuine badge that wouldn’t interfere as that’s what’s it’s designed for

Hey buddy thanks for the message the Tiguan and the Tiago both have emergency brake assist :)

Very difficult matey but whatever you do can’t impede the radar at all as you’ll have issues with your assist features not working
Hi, can you please let me know what the part number is for the ACC sensor that is behind the badge?

Hello. Do you might know if the golf mk 8 has the same mechanism for removal?
Yeh it does
@@TheVWMechanic_official thank you
@spoofer07 absolutely welcome buddy
Does the 2017 jetta have it in this location?
Might be in the lower grille on the Jetta mate but worth having a look
Hi there, it is possible to install it on a TAOS? Were can I find a schematic?
Everything’s possible just cost dependant my good sir…. If you go online you can subscribe to elsawin for factory wiring diagrams
Someone just stole my sensor. If I continue to drive without it, will it cause a problem with the car, other than the front assist won’t work?
I have to advise getting it sorted asap to avoid adverse effects but you’ll probably only notice a light on the dash and none of your features involving the radar will work
@@TheVWMechanic_official what do you mean by adverse effects? Will it cause some kind of permanent damage to my car or affect other systems?
How much does it cost to recalibrate
You would have to call your local dealer for accurate costings but couple hundred quid Atleast
@@TheVWMechanic_official thanks

If you’ve got any damage to that area it’s gunna need a calibration anyway buddy
Mine stopped working 2 months after I got it because I was installing LED bulbs and it hasn’t worked since
You’ve more than likely upset the calibration if you’ve knocked it
@@TheVWMechanic_official what can i do
@rudydaberry122 it will need Atleast a calibration mate with the correct equipment
