FYI people dont really port Canik Rivals because they are traditionally competition guns, and they wouldnt be competitive anymore if ported. But for a fun range toy its great. As far as the port vs comp deal, you are right that porting causes more of a fireball. People say that the porting provides a more comfortable smooth, pleasant recoil experience, but a comp is usually faster cycling with a similar effect. Porting also has more bullet jacket flaking off and can get in your face, but its still not too bad. They are both great options. I have done a LOT of comparing both types.
I like the V ported barrels then straight up, cuz so much gas comes up and into your optic as well, and definitely better for competition and not carry in my opinion
So you beat me to it. I have both versions of the Rival and I too wanted to port mines because it has the windows already. Now I did port my Echelon and I love it...I had mines done by Floyd's custom shop. I am loving the ports on your Rival I need to get mines down asap
RUclipsr “Something Tactical” has the same Canik with 4 ports similar to your eight. I have two ported guns and several comps. My two ported includes my Beretta LTT done by Langdon Tactical and I have the S&W Metal Carry Comp.
I was a little concerned how far the ports were back of the barrel but think you answered that question. Looking to get mine done soon if you don't report any issues. Did you have to change the springs any?
Hey. I have the TTI Combat and the Rival Darkside. Love them both. I actually dig the Darkside the best. I'm thinking about getting the Rival-S Darkside, but gonna get the Rival Brown Patriot first. That brown coffee color is 🔥. Anyway, enjoying your content. Peace and blessings✌🏾🙏
Hey Summer, just use a little more lube next time. Ports tend to need a little more lubrication. Next would be to drop weight on the recoil spring. It's an easy fix. It's great to see these types of malfunctions. So many different variables play in factor. Often either more lubrication or dropping spring weight fixes it immediately. I am not too worried about reliability.
Good video, looking at your video your round casings look to be extracting into the front of your optic. May need to adjust spring because if I am seeing it right you optic lense won't last long. What weight round are you using?? Keep doing your thing!! cute accent. I have a Glock 45 with a Radian Ramjet Comp and barrel and some other internal adjustments. I also have the Canik TTI Combat with the Comp barrel. Love the Comps! Thanks for the video.
Hi @Summer Shoots ! Is this the Canik TPSF Elite that you recommended for me ? It looks nice, plus what are the advantages of having a ported barrel opposed to a regular barrel ❤
If going to use that Canik for competition just make sure ported barrels are allowed. I think they are now in IDPA but I don’t think they are allowed in USPSA.

I love my Canik too. I have the Mete pro. Thank you for showing the barrel. That gives me ideas on what to do with mine.
Canik is definitely one of my favorites, too. 💪🏿💯

Gonna have to port my Canik steel. I have the TP9 SFX and the SC both with a Freedom Smith trigger. May put a trigger in the steel. Great shooting.

@ thanks for the tip man well appreciated!!
Port the Echelon!! I ported mine, and it took it to another level!! I got the K9 by Tampa Gunwerx, same ports on the Canik but it's has 9 holes.
Tht Canik shoot Smooth like butta!!🔥
Canik is a really good company. Eight are the most I’ve seen in ports. Nice design though
That's a sweet pistol great video

definitely do competitions. best to start with is the steel challenge.

Should def port the Echelon and get the Sharps Bros grip module for it. That thing would be super badass at that point.
