Yes I Do! I'd want to be at tip top shape for that, but I'll get to that course before long! Thanks for watching!

When did you play? I usually play there once a year. Greens look pure.

June 10th. It’s been a minute. It was in good shape if memory serves. Thanks for watching!

My favorite part of this gem is hole 5 when the shot tracker says 290. "481 yard par 5 here.... ok so I have 255 in"

the yardage on the mini map is not a tracked yardage. Its the distance and spot i'm aiming for off of the tee. the line I draw on the map is roughly where the ball ended up.

Been watching a few of your videos, my dad, brother, and I are heading to Cleveland for a weekend trip and want to get a round of golf in. What course would you recommend we try out?

    • @itchingtoscratchgolf

Awesome! Manakiki Golf Course, Boulder Creek, Grey Hawk (out a bit from downtown), Bunker Hill, Pine Hills, or my home course of Ironwood are the courses I like around the area. But, there are a bunch I haven’t played that I’m sure are great.
Firestone Country Club has stay and play packages. That is Tour level awesome if you want to go crazy.
Thanks for watching and have fun in Cleveland!

Or Sleepy Hollow if you want a crazy putting challenge (see my video a few rounds ago).

@@itchingtoscratchgolf I watched Sleepy Hollow and had a few laughs lol. I think we are going to go with Boulder Creek, course looks tough but fun.

Newbie golfer here 🙋🏻‍♂️ is cleaning the golf ball allowed?

    • @itchingtoscratchgolf

Depends on the situation. You can always lift and clean the ball when it comes to rest on the putting green. Also, you can clean the ball if you are lifting it for a relief situation. What I'm doing here is more the "Preferred Lies" rule also known as Winter rules or lift, clean and place. Typically if there are soft, watery conditions, you can lift and clean and place within 6 inches of the original spot - if it is declared and agreed upon.
Mostly though, I'm a firm believer in playing however you're going to get the most enjoyment. I have a buddy who always "fluffs" up his lie regardless of the situation. He likes playing like that, and that's fine with me. He's not entering any tournaments, so all is well. I play for fun, so although i try to play within the rules, the most important rule for me is to enjoy myself.
It's great that you're getting into golf! It's an awesome sport. I hope my channel can give you some motivation to keep playing!

So what are you "doing" to actually improve your game? I see you mentioned what stats you would like to improve, but those are stats not actions you are taking.

    • @itchingtoscratchgolf
      @itchingtoscratchgolf  2 года назад

Good point. I haven’t been doing much specifically to improve lately. But, since I’ve identified the stats I want to achieve, I’ve been falling shortest on up/downs and putts. So I’ve been putting inside and chipping in my yard a bit. But probably not enough to really make an impact. I’ve been struggling to find time. I should be able to concentrate more on my golf in the fall when the kids are back in school.
Toledo rules! I had a few friends go to the University of Toledo and I had some good times visiting up that way. Thanks for watching!
