I remember going to Afghanistan a year before Taliban take over and in Kabul we couldn’t go outside after sundown because thieves would kill and take our money, couldn’t use our phone outside, couldn’t tell anyone that we are coming from the US , in my own country . Surprisedly I went back after Taliban take over and everything was opposite , we were out until 11 , 12 o’clock at night , no problem at all …

Exactly, I am a pashtun myself and i was shocked to see the translation lol such blatent lies.
Lots of mistakes in the translation: e.g. 10: 08- 10:13. The teacher is saying as long as there is suffering (caused by an issue/even) there can be ijtihad (meaning... analysis and a diligent judgment on the issue). The word Ijtehad is used for new ruling to address contemporary issues that arise in society.
Making of this video itself speaks volumes about how safe and sound Afghanistan has become now.
Taliban are terrorists and do not care about freedom. They oppress people. Females have no rights and are not able to go to school. Footage from the U.S. afghan withdraw saw many afghani's trying to flee the Taliban.

Afghanistan is the safest place on earth after Taliban take over, I have visited multiple time they are very nice people and their hospitality is on another level. And don't listen to media what they are saying. Media is calling them Terrorist because they protect their country against invaders that's the only issue. Every Friday there used to be a terrorist attack by the ISIS khorsan on Shia minorities right after their takeover.
And they didn't close down universities after indecent acts! They closed even all-girl schools because they believe that in pashtun traditions, once a girl reaches puberty, she should be immediately married off without consent through coercion. I think that Afghanistan's economy is suffering because of foreign sanctions not because of the Taliban. The Taliban is not some foreign or Alien group. It's made up of Afghans who stood up to resist foreign occupation. The fought the Americans like their fathers fought the Soviets. It doesn't matter if it's the Americans or the Soviets or the British. For us all of them were foreign powers trying to enslave us. We resisted all of them and we were victorious.
So far the Taliban government has proved to be capable. The crime rate has been falling down since they came in power. It's gotten more safer. Also drug addicts have disappeared from the streets.
I believe that Afghanistan has great potential. We have a young population and large mineral resources especially of lithium. The only thing we lacked was stability and a strong government. Democracy won't work everywhere especially in Afghanistan. Now we have a strong and a stable Government. I think our government should follow the example of Vietnam. Just like Afghanistan, Vietnam was also invaded and destroyed by the US.
However, today Vietnam has one of the fastest growing economies in the World.

The thing I admire about the Taliban is public punishment. You don't need to follow a law book that has a bail system written by some liberal 100 years ago. You punish criminals and keep your country safe. When people know there will be consequences, they behave. Something I wish India would adopt someday.

As someone who knows this place intimately, and its people, this documentary did it's absolute best to portray them in their own light. The propaganda undertones are significant, but won't be picked up by the average viewer who is neutral.. They failed to mention the state of chaos and lawlessness the taliban reigned in, and that people can now live in peace and harmonyy.
And you complained about not being given a fair chance to film and ask the questions you like. Well that is specifically because of this reason, your whole aim was misrepresentation and propaganda. You don't deserve a fair interview.

The issue isn't whether schools are being built. Plenty of universities already exist. It's simply that the supreme leader is even more radical than most of the Taliban officials that want women's education since he does not and will not allow it. Also, even when they open up their schools, they're not gonna be teaching liberal arts or STEM. They might teach a little math and a little elementary science, but they'll only really teach shariah as they do at their madrasahs currently for men.
