    I once recorded a bassline, then did this but added an arpeggiator and randomizer and then let it record for half an hour. Then simply listened back and saved the good parts and BAM a new song was born

      Best stuff is born when you experiment and think out of the box.

      @@stereokel definitely. All these RUclips tutorials about how to do said thing like said artist are great at first, to understand basics, but experimenting brings novelty

      @@juancarlosramirezarzt7497 in the end, way too close to Daft Punk's Da Funk because I've been listening to that song on repeat haha But the idea was to do something like them, sampling real musiciens (well, me), it was a lot of fun

      run ocenaudio (it records ASIO output, while audacity doesn't ) recording in the background. mash thru fx options and you're essentially livebouncing your experiments. i don't have to choose anymore , until i've got an audio and it's time to pick out the best parts. drop those in the arrangement. and boom -- track.

    Hey that’s my secret 😅 Been doing this copiously on my latest album. Creating glitchy phrases with stutter edit then slicing and triggering with an arp like you do here. Add in lots of shaper box tricks and it’s a glitchy slice Aphex mayhem that would take ages to do by hand

    What would the best kind of samples for this sort of thing be? It seems that it's clips from songs because I can't imagine a single pluck sample splitting into many sections...

    • @crnkmnky
      @crnkmnky 10 месяцев назад +1

      Anything that evolves enough would work. A melody, a bass line, speech, birds & insects, weather, etc.
      Now, if you stretched out a pluck sample or put it into a granular plugin, you could get more than enough slices. 😼
