I imagine that the Greedy is the combined result of Willy Wonka's rejected creations that all collected in some dark secluded area of the chocolate factory o_o
Greedy: I need a sweetheart to build from the ground up. Ann: Oh God, you're not that fucking Christian Weston Chandler, are you? *sees Sonichu medallion floating around* Ann: PADDLE FASTER, ANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I used to love this as a kid. Now I'm an adult I appreciate that it's terrifying. It just shows that kids are fearless. I just showed it to my boyfriend. I think I've melted his brain...
Wow. I'm 0:27 in and freaked...here I was expecting good thoughts and memories of childhood and instead I feel like I'm a spectator looking in on someone elses trip. No. Lol. Creepy.
What's messed up is that while this scene is creepy, it makes me hungry for sweets. You'd think a scene like this would take away a person's appetite, but it didn't have that effect on me.
Yeah, I enjoyed this scene as a kid (even though I was also a bit disturbed), now it's both horrifying and nauseating. A good music video might include THIS THING with the music they played during Beavis and Butthead's drug freakout in Beavis and Butthead Do America.
That's the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this clip. This guy really reminds me of The Great Mighty Poo, mostly because of how he keeps sinking under the very essence of which he is made and reappearing randomly in other parts of it.
Me too. I saw this movie only because the critic brought it to my attention. Weirdness just seemed like my thing. I'll admit, I didn't think it was a bad film, but it's certainly no masterpiece.
Am I the only one fascinated by this character rather than disgusted? I never really saw this movie, but I admire this The Greedy person alot. I even like the music that accompanies this scene. Like The Greedy, its feels slow and reflects the mood (Which is good). This video makes you think. Like to put things into perspective. And I agree with TrueVerity, the constant moving really gives you the sense that this movie had some thought and effort put into it.
I know the people posting here are not exaggerating when they say this is a disturbing scene. I used to watch this all the time as a child simply because it was so trippy. This sequence alone used to make my head spin. Add the camel's hallucinations and the land of lunatics and you see why this isn't on DVD yet. Those 70's animated flicks like The Mouse and His Child were very questionable. Post Vietnam War cartoons didn't give a damn. Innocence was already lost.
heh....stupid thing is as disturbing as ever ...my mother had this on tape and played it for me when i was a little girl. Only movie that ever made me run crying to her to turn it off...being 4 years old i could neither work nor reach the VHS player. All i remembered from this movie was the greedy and his song. no idea what compelled me to search for it.
To me the Greedy always seemed like someone who was a glutton, or someone who valued materials above love and this was his punishment: to eat very rich and sweet food and never be able to feel full except if someone loved him and since he is basically stuck in a taffy pit and a horrible monster he'll never be complete.
3:56 - 4:01 Ann falls on top of Andy and the cupcake wrapper covers both of them. But when the Greedy pokes the wrapper away, Andy is on top of Ann! In the original aspect ratio, I think you can spot more of these mistakes if you pay attention to the trio instead of the Greedy. (Clearly I am not horrified enough.)
You know, when I watched this scene as a kid, for some reason, I never really found it scary or trippy at all. I guess it was because I was too young to think in logical terms, so seeing something as out there as this never fazed me. Now, however... *rocks back and forth in a fetal position*
This is quite the disturbing scene I remember it vividly as a child. It's even more disturbing if you think of the greedy as the representation of the sin gluttony and what's more that his song is about sexual repression and turning to food in loneliness.
It's okay, i understand how you feel. When i was little i watched the ending of the first Fantasia which has the devil an dhis demons and it scares me to this very day. So don't worry, you're among friends. ^-^
yeah, most times when i revisit something that scared me as a kid, i'm way underwhelmed. not this time. i could feel my pulse spiking halfway through. christ. this is like something out of the fucking Wall.
Thats animation is spectacularly creepy. That kind of animation just isnt done these days, too "expensive". If it werent for its age degredation....wow. Do this in CGI, watch it and melt your brain....
4:05--You know it goes down here when a candy heart is mentioned. Hey, am I the only one feeling uneasy at his smacking sounds? He looks like he's having a candy spasm! Yikes!
@TextheBored I pretty much saw every children's mindfuck in the book as a kid: The Giant Mouse of Minsk, The Greed, Watership Down... the only one I never saw as a kid was Big Bertha
Just what is the story behind this guy, anyway? Did the people making the movie get incredibly high or did the original Raggedy Ann stories really include such a bizarre character?
I'm so fraggin' glad this was almost impossible to translate to Finnish language, because if I had seen this I would have pissed myself every time I get something sweet..
its alright, there are certain movies we watch only once in a lifetime, like i wached the Teaxas Chainsaw massacre once, and i never watched it again ever since
As insane as it is, you can't deny that this is some marvelous animation :)
I imagine that the Greedy is the combined result of Willy Wonka's rejected creations that all collected in some dark secluded area of the chocolate factory o_o
TETSUOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
That must have been HELL to animate! I think this was Emerey Hawkin's last animation before he died - and a darn good one, too!
Greedy: I need a sweetheart to build from the ground up.
Ann: Oh God, you're not that fucking Christian Weston Chandler, are you?
*sees Sonichu medallion floating around*
Ann: PADDLE FASTER, ANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ann: BLOCKING HIM DOES NOTHING!
The greedy: "I've gathered sweets of manh descriptions and flavor"
The greedy at 3:17 : random crab
Beautiful creativity! Just some really amazing stuff. This must be why I have such awful and strange dreams.
2:46 YOU SEEN IT, YOU CANT UNSEE IT!
Reminds me of Tetsuo from Akira for some reason.
Also Todd Ingram.
Oh yeah, he also said without a sweet heart, he can never get enough. SOMEONE GET HIM A GIRLFRIEND
No. Lol. Creepy.
It's like something out of a fever dream
whoo this shit gave me nightmares! I had to throw in a carebears tape after watchin it!
This guy and the Great Mighty Poo should do a duet.
What's messed up is that while this scene is creepy, it makes me hungry for sweets. You'd think a scene like this would take away a person's appetite, but it didn't have that effect on me.

5:16 Boss Fight!
+zgrillo2004 OMG! Instant raid wipe!
This scene creeped me out as a kid and when the Nostalgia Critic had this in his Top 11 Nostalgic Mindfucks, the old horrors are brought back!
ive seen plenty of weird and scary stuff...this is one of them xD
i wish Nostalgia Critic reviewed this movie
omg this freaked me out as a kid
also is it just me or does when he say "tooty fruity" the greedy looks frikkin psychotic? 0_0
The animators had to have taken over 9,000 hits of acid to have made this.
Yeah, way to condemn him to a void of self-loathing despair for all eternity, guys.
Do they have this on dvd? This is my favorite out of the series.
Wow...that's some trippy stuff...
I LOVE IT!
This used to scare the crap out if me as a kid! Lmao
Animation has become too domestic, there needs to be more far out, lsd stuff like this
That thing makes the Great Mighty Poo look clean.
Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure
lol, He's like me when I got dumped
What the fuck...
WHY DON'T THEY HAVE THIS ON DVD?
Shouldn't he be the gluttonous?
The song is so cute!!🙏🤗
A Sea of Diabetes.
conker bad fur day?

In the great words of Stan Marsh....
"This is pretty fucked up right here."
.............RAGGEDY ANN SCARES ME!
XDDDD good video anyways
Greetings!
There's some restoration work on this film from the original negatives going on at the ffrevolution forums (in the "Thief" thread).
thats so trippy, he was singing about a sweet heart (people assume girl) but he really wanted to eat a sweet heart O.o...
Am I the only one fascinated by this character rather than disgusted? I never really saw this movie, but I admire this The Greedy person alot. I even like the music that accompanies this scene. Sweet Heart as in a beating living heart that's sweet. Cause he's an empty shell with out one.
@TextheBored

Thank god I never watched this film when I was 2. I would've been mentally scarred for life.
I'm so fraggin' glad this was almost impossible to translate to Finnish language, because if I had seen this I would have pissed myself every time I get something sweet..
its alright, there are certain movies we watch only once in a lifetime, like i wached

remember kids, eat to many sweets and junk food and you'll wind up like the greedy ._.
Wow. That was impressive. I'd never heard of this movie but i had a raggedy ann book when i was a kid that had similarly bizarre and creepy art in it.
*Pauses Video* Yeah, that's alright, no no its OKAY! Not like I needed to sleep tonight! Oh wait I didn't, never mind please continue! *Resumes Video*
Just looking at this guy makes me want to never touch a candy bar again.....Most of us are over 13 and we're still disturbed by this freaking thing
This animation is as tristed as
Pink floyd The Wall
@shaannnvxxx XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! I think he says 'taffy pit' but it sounds much more like what you said lmao.
haha this stinkin part makes me hungry for sweets!!! haha, kind of reminds me of Tetsuo from Akira actually..... ok not hungry anymore...
HAHAHAHAH
This explains SO much, ROTFLMAO. I was obsessed with this movie as a toddler...
"But I'm only a ragdoll with a little candy heart"...
Isn't that the equivalent of saying "I almost taste like chicken" to a tiger?
weird. i just realizes that i had seen that doll before.. and that blue kamel.. and ohhhvyeah. that blobby thing too. weird..
wow.... my curiosity to see the animation of Raggedy Ann and Andy has brought me to this messed up piece of cartoon ? ..... wow,
man, it makes me want to try some sweets mentioned in this video...*continues watching Greedy eating* and yet, i want to puke.
Question when he says sweet heart, does he mean a piece of candy thats shaped as a heart, or like a pretty young girl?
You know as freaky as this movie is, it DOES have some really good songs.
THIS IS CLASSIC!!! I would agree that this is something of a metaphor for us (USA) LOL
Thank you for posting
this makes me want to swear off of sweets forever. *gag* This gave me nightmares as a kid. Thanks for uploading.
@mermaidblue282 Both. He's using junk food as a substitute for a partner, and who cares? It's FANTASY. For KIDS
You know... when I was little and saw this movie, I didn't realize how completely and utterly fucked up it was.
i loved this movie but if you watch it now it looks like stuff you would see if you were back in the 60s lol
It gave ME nightmares, boy howdy. Dear God, it perpetually eats itself.
Lol, I wonder how many people are here from That guy with the glasses
This scene has haunted me ever since i first saw it. not as scary as i remember it although... still scary.
i remember watching this movie when i was like 4, it scared the hell out of me. im 14 and it stil does
Thumbs up if you saw this on Encyclopedia Dramatica. Amirite geiz?
Raggedy Ann sounds a lot like Bubbles from the Power Puff Girls.
This is my favorite scene in the whole movie. I wish I could fall into the taffy pit. So delicious.
@shaannnvxxx hahaha! sounds like it!! I think he said "Taffy pit"
Have Mercy to my stomach!!! I love sweets, but that's too much!!!
raretrick: We blocked this film from our mind's eye, that's how.
@shenlong888 Tell your teacher that I'm going to have freaking nightmares because of this...
Thank you so much for posting this video!!! I loved this as a kid :) You just made my day !!!
Man, cartoons were really fucked up when I was a kid. I mean, this is just one of so many...
oh god... little nemo was almost made by this guy. that wavy psychedelic nonstop moving type of animation is deadly to the eyes.
Bizarre, but it's a Richard Williams film, so it's expected
@ZOyacks You mean like Hermann Goering? Perhaps this is his eternal punishment in Hell.
haha im so glad you put this up... this thing gave me such creepy nightmares as a kid...
Dude, holy shit, any six-year-olds get chronic nightmare syndrome from this monstrosity?
Harry Knowles hits the Concessions!
Rush Limbaugh up close!
Ted Kennedy in the shower!
FUCK :(
i tought i was the only person who connected it
