- 2001: a landmark year for video games. As the PS2 came into it's own and the Xbox and Game Boy Advance made their debuts, the WayForward pocket team kept working, all the while waiting for Shantae to hit store shelves. With no sign of the half genie and the cartoon of their latest game shelved, it would take a little magic to get Wendy: Every Witch Way out the door...
This is the 10th episode of Chromatographic, the series looking to highlight the highs and lows of the Game Boy Color library, playing the hits and the misses so you don't have to! Great video! I'm so glad they managed to convince TDK to let them release it! :D although I doubt anyone actually bought it because of the GBA connectivity... it's such a minor thing...
Yup, and as another commenter pointed out, they're in the regular version of the game anyways with a password... the detection is just to active the levels, it doesn't actually use the hardware... Oh well! Thanks for watching buddy!

When it first came out in the early 2000s I lost it but I recently bought a copy at a cyber shop called Mercari

You showed those bonus stages and I was like "Huh, kinda like Cotton." Guess there was a reason!
I did have to clarify if it was Cotton or Magical Chase, as I'd assumed it was more likely the WF crew would have played on a Turbo Grafx rather than Cotton, but low and behold, it was the NGPC version of it haha! Cheers for watching dude - I hope you're doing ok in these cray times!

I was wondering when you were going to cover this game! Just like all other WF games on the GBC, this game is such a gem! I was able to get a copy some years ago before it became expensive.. well at least in the US, it's like 2x the cost as the PAL version. Great review!
I actually managed to get a copy through a friend cart only a year or two a go for a very reasonable price... I think US sellers are more in the know, where as in Europe, most kids games get discarded at low prices! I grabbed Sabrina boxed for less than $4 thanks to that! Glad you managed to pick up a copy though, it's definitely on the rise in the US! Thanks for watching :)
The Advance worlds make no use of the GBA hardware. You can play them on a GBC by inputting their passwords on the password screen.

Is there a GBC game thatreally uses the GBA hardware?
Definitely has that nice Wayforward touch! Really feels like it pushed the color to its limits! Hopefully one day I'll stumble upon it!
