I love how it has two campaigns just like Warcraft and co. Despite it being a GBC game, it boasted similar playability to the beastly PC games of the time. I lost many and hour at night to playing it over and over again as a kid. Simply sensational.
@@donovaneckstrom I, unfortunately, didn't have it as a kid or did I know about it back then. I learned about Warlocked the first time in the late 2000's and immediately fell in love with it. Just writing about it now, I can hear the music in my head.
@@Highretrogamelord It's a shocker how much they crammed into that GBC cart. Two campaigns, meta for characters. It could be put on the PC and folks would have loved it. Easily my favourite game on the GBC.
I literally just found this gem of a game in a ROM pack o loaded onto my anbernic RG35xx. Where had this game been my whole life 13 yo me would have loved that on my GBC
Yeah, I can confirm that Warlocked is 100% a hidden gem on GBC. What an amazing game for the system it's on. REALLY wish they'd made a SNES version of this.
Absolutely warmed my heart to see Warlocked topping this list! I was always borrowing my cousin's copy of it when I was a kid. It had no business being as good as it was for that system. Not even mentioning the amazing soundtrack it had ("Snow 1" in particular is my favourite). Thank you for putting this gem on this list!
Love seeing Survival Kids and Toki Tori. Only gem missing from the list is the card-playing RPG Magi Nation, also you won't be able to put this on any lists but there's a fan translation for the excellent JRPG Star Ocean: Blue Sphere, a franchise that will be too familiar to JRPG fans, especially on the PS1 and PS2.
Recently played Survival Kids this year and my word, its got to be one of my favorite Gameboy Color games now! Its so much fun! Glad its here on this list
Wow, that dungeon crawler looks and sounds fantastic! I’m a sucker for games like this with my first introduction, being the legend of Grimmrock. I had no idea a dungeon maze crawler ever came out for the game boy color. My appreciation for the Wonderswan color and the boy color has skyrocketed since I started replaying my old GBA games
I loved Metal Walker! I remember borrowing it from a friend one summer and playing through the whole game in a few days. Haven't thought about that game in a while!
This is a really good list! I actually didn't know some of them, and one of them I knew the Japanese version but not what it was reskinned into (Elevator Action EX -> Dexter's Lab).
I had a lot of fun with Warlocked. It was one of the many Gamebiy Clor games I played (Sometimes literally) during high school. I don't know if they are too well known or something but I think the Gameboy Color Heroes of Might and Magc games would have been good for the list if they aren't.
5:59 Of course living the rest of your life on an island sounds like a pretty attractive venture for you at Triple Jump. You _are_ living on an island already anyway. Granted, Britannia is anything but deserted.
You mentioned this was Wendy the Good Little Witch's only video game appearance - but she featured prominently in 2001's Casper Spirit Dimensions for PS2 and Gamecube
I never got my hands on a copy but man I loved Warlocked ( I borrowed a friend's copy once ). Hopefully Nintendo will add it to the GB/GBC NSO lineup...
Webdy was not an obscure side character. She had her own comic books, and cartoonsin The Harvey Comics universe. Your comment betrays your lack of research. One hopes the rest of your research is better.

Thanks, I wish they had time stamped the vid.
👍
Thank you. Why TF don't they stamp their own vids?!
I love how the thumbnail is Warlocked. One of the most overlooked GBC games and the best strategy game for the GBC.

I bought this game randomly knowing nothing about it a few years ago and was blown away when I got it home and realized it was a grand strategy game.

The fact so many people are asking sbout shantae is proof it doesnt need to be on this list
Baste

4:13 HOLY MOLEY! Someone is flexing their chops with that FMV clip
beautiful for it's time!

There are many Wizardry games in the system.
for the record, I think the editor's use of the stills of Ashton are hilarious.
This was a fun one, as it was the first of these lists where I hadn’t heard of any of the entries! Great stuff 💪🏻
Ben Flexing his GBC collection will always be something i will never forget
Been waiting for another new episode of Gameboy hidden gems. You have no idea how quickly I clicked onto this video.
Survival Kids! Now that deserves to come to the online service, since Lost In Blue probably will never see light again
Wendy Every Witch Way gives me thoughts of Metal Storm.
I loved Metal Walker! I remember borrowing it from a friend one summer and playing through the whole game in a few days. Haven't thought about that game in a while!
Where’s Shantae? That game is also rare game boy color.
Great, well researched list.
What is the game at 0:30 ? Also the one at 0:24
Harvest Moon & Mr. Driller
great selections!

Those FMV sequences for Tower are pretty damn impressive for an 8 bit color dot matrix portable.
I have that Dexter's Laboratory game. And my pick would be Monster Rancher Battle Card GB.
Battle Card GB is one of my favorites
Metal Walker! So glad to see it on this list. I love that game and wish it would get a remake or sequel.
This thumbnail came up on google and had to click. I was obsessed with warlocked definitely defined my tastes as a young gamer
Top 11 , I’m adding return of the ninja!!!
I never got my hands on a copy but man I loved Warlocked ( I borrowed a friend's copy once ). Hopefully Nintendo will add it to the GB/GBC NSO lineup...
I loved Warlocked back in the day.
You forgot Daikatana
"We're talking about hidden gems and you know what that means?". Sure do!....Metal Jesus!!! Lol 😅 lol
Cannon Fodder is well worth seeking out.
i had that game for DOS. played it a lot in high school
Ooo learning 😊
You guys should do a Top 10 Point and Click Adventure Games 🤔
I already knew Wendy Witch, it's my favorite GBC game
Very good choices! Finally not the same list for the 1000th time!
Magi Nation!
Warioland 3 : metroidvania and puzzle plateformer on GBC.
most of these are quite pricey if not extremely pricey (wendy the witch) and they are not so hidden. Solid list though!
Cotton and Ripple need to have a witches duel. My moneys on Cotton and ill die on that hill.
Is Shantae too well known now to be considered a hidden gem? 🤔
its more of a prototype but the GBC version of Daikatana is pretty good
Metal walkers closer to robotrek (slapstick) then anything else
every time i see a damn cute side scrolling game is one of these videos i get hit with "this japan only release"
Take Robotrek And Pokemon Put Them Together And You Get Metal Walker
Cool ✅✌🏼
I might try one or two of these, and you're cute by the way :)
Tetris was kind of a hidden gem and very underrated and ovelooked at the early life of the gbc
Project Space Shipy McShipface.
You forgot Alice in Wonderland

Lol. Who?
Why the fuck would you think its a good idea to spoil not one but multiple endings of survival kids!?!
Ashton made up all those metal Pokemon right?
oh fuck i'm old

These look terrible like most gbc games
