Mate no one, literally no one waited 24 years for this since no one expected a sequel based on a story that was completely told from beginning to end. If anything then it doesn't look grounded whatsoever. They literally flood the colosseum and put sharks or crocs in it. They show a tamed Rhino for gods sake. They trailer music is utter shit and creates no ambience and atmosphere whatsoever. half of Denzels and Mascals lines sound utterly stupid and shallow. "they believe in power", "this is about survival". No matter how well the dialogue will be delivered. Still gave you a thumbs up because of the effort but this looks exactly like everyone who has a good taste in cinema expected. An expensive but empty action filled Netflix production. It has nothing from the noble look that movies like Gladiator or LOTR from early 2000s had.
