      That’s great!! If you don’t mind me asking, would it be safe to drive the car on the highway in this situation? For example, if you’re a few hours away from home and it gets stolen, is it safe to drive home or should you find a repair service locally where the theft happened? Thank you for any advice.

That Prius was essentially being hooned around a track, pushing it to its limits, while the M3 was going for a casual drive behind the Prius

      @Oxh Honestly it really depends on the car, but for example I wouldn't try this in a state like california. Personally I think only a v8 sounds good with a modified exhaust with some small exceptions of course. But even on my v8, I can tell you it's a lot easier to get a louder sound by just changing the axle back. When you start messing with the midpipe you start to open up more problems, especially if you go catless.
      If you just care about sound, then touch the axle backs. If you care about performance, THEN get a catback. Just keep in mind, that the money you put in DOES NOT equal the horse power you're going to gain. Your much better off saving up for a supercharger, a tune from a reputable tuner, tires, or even long tube headers. You will only gain about 3 HP if any from putting a bunch of money into the midpipe and nothing from the axleback, if maybe .0001 HP.
      Just trying to let you know what I learned the hardway.

    This video makes me regret not making a video on my Prius when it had its catalytic converter stolen, I honestly had the most fun that week because all I would do is 100% full throttle, on the freeway and such just so that I can get the pop pop pop pop pop bang when the engine cuts off due to the electric powertrain kicking in when you let off the throttle. I own a Lexus GS 430 with nothing past the catalytic converters and it sounds like an absolute beauty. That week gave me such a rush of amazing feelings because this car is so great but it would sound even better if it just had a decent exhaust. My only issue is that it cuts out abruptly, TBH I'd rather have the constant sound of the engine versus it cutting out intermittently and interrupting my absolute blissful state of engine noises. What's funny is the difference between power mode and when it's an Eco status. When you're in power mode it sounds absolutely amazing and high revs, but when you go into eco mode whether you're playing with the throttle or just an eco mode in general, it sounds almost as good as a V8 because of how low the RPMs are on the gasoline engine. I wish Toyota would put an RPM meter on the gasoline engine sometimes because the telemetry that you have now only shows you a gauge of how far you are on the throttle essentially. Anyways, great video, regret not making one, have a grand day mate. 👍

    That's rough, catalytic converter thieves are the worst. I had an exhaust pipe knocked off my car a couple years ago so I had this same problem, but being that it is a muscle car with a v8 engine, I kinda liked the sound 😂. My car is too low to get under to try and steal the catalytic converter, and if they do manage to get underneath it, they'll be met with disappointment when they realize that it doesn't have one.

    Just leave it straight piped.
    Less weight, better gas flow, better fuel economy.
    Cut out the stock muffler too, replace it with a replica HKS HiPower from Aliexpress, (edit) or any no-name or less known small brand straight-through muffler because they all do the same. (Literally just a mesh, fibers on top, encased in a steel cylinder. Length controls the muffling capacity. As simple as they come.)
    It muffles enough and contributes even further to the "less weight" and "better gas flow" things i mentioned above.
    While at it, throw in a legit/real HKS, AEM, A'pexi or K&N filter too and do a remap to tie it all together.
    The little more extra power wouldn't hurt.
    Why not also get the JP Style bodykit too? It's hella cheap. And some OZ Alleggerita HLT would look great on the Prius. Not to mention the increased fuel economy, because it cuts the weight per wheel to less than half.
    Like, it's the best excuse to tune the Prius.
    It would not only look and sound better, but be faster and consume less fuel than before too.
    Simple builds are pretty nice.

      @TC926 Год назад

The only experience that u would probably get from using knockoffs fake parts is that it doesn't fit that well compared to the real. And rough surface and some quality control issues. U can get more experience by 3D printing and make ur own parts

    • @myrmeko
      @myrmeko Год назад

      @@TC926 Ok, ignore that i said "fake HKS". Just replace it with a generic no-name or small unkown brand muffler.
      It's just fibers surrounding a perforated steel mesh, encased in a steel cylinder.
      You can buy any straight-through, cylinder type muffler from any company. Only the length is different, so the level of muffling is different. The rest is the same, no matter if you buy a HKS, Borla, fake HKS, small unkown brand or no brand at all. It's as simple as it can possibly get. And for 30$, a muffler that both sounds and looks good, i think it's more than worth it.
