Abar 267 Five years later the same car Wheldon drove in '11 does what Hildebrand nearly pulled off, with former Manor Marussia F1 driver Alexander Rossi behind the wheel of the #98
Watched a small documentary about the lead up and after math of Dan's accident he should never have been there everything that could go wrong did go wrong, I'm not an indy fan but can remember where I was when I found out when I saw Franchitti being strapped back into his car in pieces was what really drove it home there's on track rivalry and everyone has a favourite team/driver but no one watches racing to see a life ended on track especially in something like indy where you can see it from 10,000 different angles and hd etc
First indy race i ever watched was him winning. Second i watched was 2012 indy500 that started out with a memorial for him. He was a hell of a driver and we'll never forget his legacy
@Anthony Staten because he didnt purposely want to take himself out, he wants to purposely take the winning guy out, then have himself take the win, unfortunately for him, it didnt go the way the thought of it to be, he just got greedy is all, yes he knew he couldve just got second but it wasnt enough for him so he took that gamble
@Anthony Staten people do dumb shit out of impulse, and panic (as proved by this video series) and I think that could be what possibly happened, but that applies to intentional ramming too and I will still also give the benefit of the doubt that he did intentionally ram him
@@AnthonyStatenMusic you said it, race car drivers... but Prost is a spoiled brat that never won anything significant and ows his entire career to his last name
I watched Weldon win, Hildebrand hit the wall right in front of where I was sitting. I remember just how loud the cars were, if you think they're loud in the open, the way the metal roofing over the stands echoed the sound was absolutely deafening. Of course, from that point I missed Tanner Foust's world record jump in the infield with the Hot Wheels team. That race alone got me into motorsports and I hold onto what little memorabilia I have from that day. What a childhood memory... RIP Don Weldon. I won't forget you.
So if i understand it: Jean Alesi was leading the race ahead of Marcel Fässler, Laurent Aiello and Bernd Schneider. Aiello is the yellow car i think, Fässler the silver/grey one and Schneider the black one. The three battled over the final lap for P2 and it ended with Aiello crashing into the final corner and Schneider going off. However on the final straight, leader Alesi slowed due to either running out of fuel or a mechanical issue, so both Fässler and Schneider passed him and Marcel Fässler won the race
These finishes are what racing is supposed to be. This is what fans come to watch for. These are the ones that make the people say “I can’t believe it.”
In the last two races, what I find extraordinary is that the two leaders (Habsburg and Hildebrand) still crossed the finish lines in 4th and 2nd place immediately after hitting the wall! That's a very respectable finish in any race, but after crashing into the wall? Nice vid, & thanks for posting.
LEWIS HAMILTON 2008 last race, last lap, last corner at Interlargos. He becomes F1 World Champion for the first time. What an epic ending that was too.
@@kartracer127 At the best Glock was trying to avoid Hamilton gets a title. otherwise he would just pit, like everyone else, and he would came off the pits below hamilton. don't get why people don't understand this
Heidfeld is so unlucky, he has not only the most podiums without a win in Formula 1, but also in Formula E. This would have been his first and only victory in FE.
The first one very Schumacherish, and intentional - see contact with Damon Hill at Adelaide. Love the three car waltz in the second item. Last one seems to be more attention to the car on the inside rather than the road.
Okay so you people saying the first clip was on purpose clearly dont pay attention. 1)the last time blue car checks his mirrors the other driver is still BEHIND him. 2) guy who got hit tried to take the inside corner going way too fast, he wouldnt have been able to slow down enough for the turn after accelerating hard just seconds before. remember this is instant torque from these cars. 3) after the crash you can clearly see the other drivers slow down a lot and take that corner carefully as there is only room for _ONE_ car. How the fuck was the wrecked driver trying to get ahead here? He sped up to overtake when the other driver was already slowing down for the turn, which meant his entry speed was much too high for an imminent corner. HE caused the accident. not the blue car.
If you know anything about racing you'd know it was blue cars fault. The turn in point for the corner is much further than where he turns into the other car. Normal turn in point is around the stripes on the road if you check the previous laps. He has absolutely no reason to turn in where he did other than to hit the other driver. The other car has plenty of space to brake for the corner. He simply braked later, outbraking the other driver is one of the most classic overtake maneuvers in racing. Most overtakes happen into braking zones. There is room for one car through the corner yes, that's how overtakes work. The car that's ahead gets the line and the car behind has to yield. The other drivers take that corner carefully because there is a YELLOW FLAG after the accident. They have to slow down. The race stewards disagree with you because they gave blue car (Nicolas Prost) a 10-place grid penalty. They have the telemetry to tell them who did what and how it compares to previous laps. All the commentators disagree with you. Even Prost HIMSELF disagrees with you because he apologised afterwards, saying ‘I feel very bad - I understand I am responsible’.
duncanevy 1911 was the first Indy 500. The 100th anniversary was 2011, the one Wheldon won in the video. There were a few years around the World Wars where it wasn’t held.
