Do it!!! You can do it! There is so much support online and it is not as hard as you may imagine. Make that leap, take that first step... I guarantee you, you will not regret it.
Just maidened mine. Flys with a horrible up down oscillating flutter. Gyro fitted but switched that off and still flutters. Increases with speed! Wondered if it is the unsupported elevon tips..? Servo linkages are a long way away from tips...?
Looking forward to your test , especially with walksnail inside the hatch. I also would have expected a little more thought for HD systems from first look. But I‘m sure your test will elaborate on that ☺️☺️☺️☺️
Interesting! I hope that you put Walksnail in it and a Go 2 mounted somehow on top. I also hope that it doesn't have too much wing wag as that is often the gamble with new and especially small wings. I think concentrating the mass around the center helps (which means not using the outer wing pockets), and building them with a higher wing loading also seems to help from my experience. I also wonder if a Vista air unit will fit inside because that's all I have at the moment.
Lee, I see you do a lot of flying wings. I always struggle with the amount of "up" elevate to bias in for hand launching. Any general recommendations to present the "inverted J" maneuver?
I use INAV Autolaunch a lot here and that takes care of it. Good manufacturers are now starting to add the reflex needed into the manuals.. See the Baby AR wing Pro.. If all else fails (and I am not using INAV) then I err on the side of caution and use instant trim on the radio to fix... Happy flying
Nice, removable wings. This will be something I can take on the motorbike. I’ll have to order one. Think the Mini AR could be retiring. Only things to me are: - the motor. It seems small. The Mini AR was 1806, so a little larger. I think slightly larger with lower KV may have been better. But, it looks pretty interesting. I know the Dart250g was the same size. But it was smaller and lighter. - I’m not a fan of those hinges. All those gaps are going to lose efficiency from the wing. I think some glider hinge covering tape will be needed to get the absolute most out of it. Still, hopefully HobbyRC will get them in soon.
Nice to see new models. Just in time for summer! Besides the Baby AR Wing, I noticed there is a refreshed "White Falcon" edition of the larger Sonicmodell AR Wing. What would be cool is if Sonicmodell/ZOHD provided an STL file for hatch that allow making a 3d-print to install a VTx up top.
A very interesting design, but I suspect split type analogue cameras would be even harder to fit - their non-extendable leads are simply to short to reach behind the battery, and their boards are too large to go in front of it.
My AR Mini has been brilliant. The only thing it needed was bigger (wider) battery bay. My AR wing Pro was a disaster. You have to have a huge battery and the weight of a Go Pro in the nose to have any chance of it balancing (I had a multistar 5200 4s plus 124g of lead in the Go Pro bay at the front). Even though it was unnecessarily heavy it still had plenty of power. However, it's real flaw are the flexing elevons. I nearly lost mine on a high speed low pass on the second flight and then killed it on the fourth flight after is failed to pull up to avoid a tree. I hope that the baby has stiffer elevons!
Hi painless or anyone else that could help , I’m starting to get in to fc and I’d like to get the correct wires for for things like gps , crossfire stuff like that what is the gauge I’m looking to buy as I’m a tad lost and wanted to get all the stuff I needed to do the job Many thanks in advance 🙏
@@Painless360 fixed wing ,starting with speedybee f405wing but i need to wire micro jst to gps stuff like that and to run my crossfire nano a bit further also my camera vtx things like that
You can use really small wires for things like Rx and GPS modules. When you need a lot of current (amps) you need more copper wire to carry it. If you are using higher voltages (volts) then the wire needs more insulation. The only wires that need consideration are the ones from the battery to the flight controller. Thanks for the reviewI've only ever build 1 fixed wing (AR pro), so consider me a newbie on fixed wings. I don't understand why servos don't come set up from factory, or at least the specifics of the servo setup. The basic servo setup from 1 pnp model (my AR wing pro) to the next (your AR wing pro) isn't different. Its not like they don't this information; manufacturers build and test their planes before selling. Why not include details like...1) centre servo, 2) use second hole on servo arm, 3) use top hole on control horn and 4) have the rod 78mm long. Its obvious that they can do this considering the model in this review comes from factory with the servos already set up. I know that if someone is doing a complete scratch build with their own servos, control arms and rods then the linkages needs to be figured out by the builder. But with PNP models I just don't get it. Thanks as always for the great information.
Are SonicModell and ZOHD the same company, or are you testing my sobriety? lol I guess if they _are_ the same, then ZOHD is the group the stole all the straight-edge rulers, and the SonicModell side has the only wind tunnel. Both make epic planes, I love my Dart and Mini AR Wing equally :-)
Pretty sweet looking little wing, Lee! Fantastic review! 😃
Looking forward to see how you build it!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I love the Mini AR Wing, except for the room inside. This looks like it does a better job at that.
Looks pretty sweet!
And looks a lot like a 3D printed wing I’m working on (470mm span as it sits today)
thank you for including fixed wings again!
Thanks for the comment. I've never stopped covering interesting new fixed wings... Happy flying
Would love to see a step by step guide on this...... still haven't been brave enough to buy my first wing.
But this one looks tempting

Best of luck finding the cause. It isn't a common issue with these... Happy flying
Might make a good alternative, as I put so much effort into crating the perfect AR-Wing Pro, that now I'm too nervous to fly it.
Looking forward to your test , especially with walksnail inside the hatch.

Maybe... Happy flying

The STRIX Nano Goblin "performance" version uses a 1407 motor at 4100Kv with a 4.1x4.1 prop. Can take 2s or 3s.
@@techstuff6829 the Nano Goblin is also smaller, lighter, and is more aero-efficient. It’s smaller and lighter than the Dart 250g too.
Would the thumb screw on the wing break in a crash?
In all the models I have here that use them, I've not had that happen. The bolt isn't the only thing holding the wing... Happy flying
Sweet!! That's going to be my next project thumb screw on my wings! Thanks! Looking forward to your next video!
You are an asset to the community sir!
What's the RTF weight?
Depends what you add... Happy flying

that thing is rad as hell
This is amazing, exactly what I wanted!
I’m going to buy a kit version and make it 6s 🎉. I’m really excited for this one
Are there any aircraft of similar or greater spec than the Parrot Disco, with its autopilot and 4g capabilities?
Not that I know of. Anyone else reading this have an idea?
Nice! Problem is that Sonicmodell is hard to get in the EU. (UK not an option because of import tax.)
Ive been wanting to get into planes/wings and this looks perfect! Do you know when itll be available/where?
Today at your local Sonicmodell and ZOHD stockist!
hi dear ' please which fc and gps with compass do you recommend for this model? compatible with inav 6 if pissible.thank you for your time.Max
Check out any of my INAV for beginners series. I built mine using the Matek F405-Wing and a Matek GPS and Compass unit..

Ah now I know why they stopped the mini ar wing
Yep. This is just the Mini AR Wing updated a bit. Nothing wrong with that - the older one is a great "hooligan" toy! 😉
Could anyone recommend any good sub 250g FPV wings please? Thanks
See my sub250g playlist. The Dart 250g is the only one that springs to mind..

I’ve ordered it from Banggood 😊

Dose this need a FC?
I'd add one personally. You can probably make it work without...

Let's see how it flies first ;)
Very nice
