Gorgeous footage, everything looks amazing! I also have a RX100 V and I'm shopping around for an underwater kit for SCUBA / Snorkel, may I ask what you are using? Also it doesn't look like you used any light right?
JC, great video...you mentioned that you did not had any camera lights or lens. can you tell me which camera modus or which settings you made for the great video. I just bought th RX100V
Thanks! It was shot in 1080p (PAL), manual mode, auto focus. Some shots at 100 fps but mostly at 25 fps. Every time I change depth, I adjust the white balance, this is very important. (I use my buddy's grey tank ) You have to go in a Photo mode to set the white balance, it cannot be done in Video mode for some reason. I also did some color corrections with a editing software. I hope it helps, good luck!
Hi, really a great video!!!!!!! Do you have some experience with overheating when using 4k!!!!! What do you think it´s better to use HD or 4K? THX for your answer, greetings from Austria, Fredi
Hi! Thank you. Yes the camera will overheat in 4k when shooting long clips. Hd vs 4k? I guess it depends on your final output (big TV, phone, projector...) 4K is better but HD is really good also. The image stabilisation is better in HD and you can shoot in high frame rate to make nice slow motions. Now I shoot in 4k most of the time, but I use HD to shoot in 100 frames/seconds. This video was shot in HD only!
JC Rivard Hi, thank you for your answer.👍👍👍👍👍 I will use it on 4 k 55´ TV and also on iPad....I think, that I never will need more time than 30-40 sec for one sequence and with a break for 1 Min or more between filming, I hope the cam will cool down... what is your experience with filming in 4k....thank you very much for ans answer....in three weeks I will go to the Philippines......If you are interessted on my divevideos , watch my RUclips channel....👍
You will be fine shooting like this. Do some test on your TV comparing 4K and HD. If you shoot in 4K but edit your video in HD, your can crop the footage up to 200%. It can be very useful too... Have a good trip!
Really great job, I'm planning to buy a sony RX100 MV and the same housing (no need to go deeper than 40m for the moment). do you remember the deep you was when you filmed ? any feedback about the underwater mode (from 2.0 firmware ) ? you set the with balance before all shot ?
Super Aufnahmen!!!
I am from Bali... and your work is just amazing...
Suksma Putu!

Thanks! I use the Sony housing (MPK-URX100A), nothing else, no lights. I also did some color corrections in final cut pro.
Very impressive work, subscribed for future videos! Hope you would make one showing us some tips and settings to use in the future. =)
JC Rivard did you have any arms or other frames that you set the camera onto?
JC, great video...you mentioned that you did not had any camera lights or lens.

Thank you! I do white balance every time I change depth, never use the underwater mode. I think the deepest I went was 33 or 35 m.
JC Rivard thank for your answers. You optain this quality of colors at 33m deep whitout flash !? Only WB and natural light ?
most shots were between 8 and 20 m...
Nice man.. do you need to buy red filters ? Or you can shoot it from the house directly?
Thanks! No red filter... I adjust the white balance in the camera.
JC Rivard wow but it looks like you have used some macro lens right? If yes what type
No macro lens!
A new firmware v.2.0 ( WB-Underwater ) is now available !!
