It depends on what your goals are! One thing that’s an obvious challenge is intonation so I’d recommend practicing scales, arpeggios, intervals, etc… to a tuner so that you can develop your ear. You’ve got to be able to hear pitch relationships on a deep level to make sure that you stay in tune in the heat of the moment during a song.
Your playing is just other-worldly in these covers. But, I gotta ask: Was this bass built before or after Obscura reached out to you for the tour? How long did it take to make, and was playing with 6 strings an adjustment?
Thanks man and it was a total coincidence that I finished this right before the tour! The original plan for this bass was to have a fretless that could cover any metal gig that I could possibly get offered and only about a week or so after I finished it did Steffen hit me up. Getting used to the 6th string took a little adjustment but I got comfortable with it pretty quickly
Was a delight to see you play with Obscura in the UK, looking forward to the next time you come across to us!
Damn your skill never ceases to amaze me.
It was Amazing to see you in France in septembre with Obscura
You did an amazing job 🤘🏻 you can be proud 🔥
You just keep delivering world class thumb shredding. I'm gonna practice now for sure
amazing!
Excelent job. I tried to learn this song when I was 17 years old on bass, but I fail.
This is so nasty, man. Love all your covers, but this one is inspiring. That fretless has gorgeous mwah too
Insane playing🔥🔥
What would be the advice you'd give to someone getting into fretless playing after playing for a year? Your playing is great, as always.
get a fretless with inlays and just practice!
