Hi Rolf, thank you so much for your kind words! It’s amazing to hear that our videos brought back memories of your own rides through Scotland. It really is a magical place for motorcycling, and I totally agree that the NC500 and the old military road are highlights. The Bealach na Ba sounds like quite the adventure, especially in fog! I’m glad the videos resonated with you, and I can’t recommend enough that you get back to Scotland for another tour-there’s always something new to discover. Thanks again for your support, and happy riding on your future Scottish adventures!
I think we mentioned how good the weather had been one too many times 🤣 Still only one day drenching ain’t bad 😊. Really glad to hear you’ve enjoyed the videos and we hope you enjoy the rest of the series 😎👍🏻
I have so enjoyed your Scottish trip but there’s plenty of scope left to visit again. The north west of Scotland has to be experienced, as you two have, to fully comprehend the beauty of the place. I’m Scottish and biased but I still reckon it is truly a magical area
Hi Henry, we totally enjoyed touring through Scotland too! It’s been spectacular even though we only had a short amount of time it really gave us a taste of the country. As you say, plenty more to see and we are already looking forwards to returning 😎👍🏻 we hope you enjoy the rest of the series …..even though it’s not Scotland 😁
Make sure to head down through the Yorkshire Dales where you'll find some of the best roads in the country. A684 is a must. Plenty to see and do too. Bolton Castle is brilliant and has a tea room and ice cream shop. Leyburn and Bedale are beautiful villages. There is Malham cove, Hardraw force, Aysgarth falls (Robin Hood prince of theives). Buttertubs pass. Too many things to mention.
An excellent series of videos, I’m looking forward to discovering if on the next video you ride the Kielder Forest Drive, 12 miles of man made off-road terrain. It’s actually the longest Forest drive in the U.K. 👍
Hi, great to hear you enjoyed it! We absolutely loved it in Scotland and it’s one of those rare times where we could see ourselves living there 😊 -beautiful place and great people 😎👍🏻
If the weather was better you might have enjoyed a walk up one of the small hills at Balmoral Castle to see the Prince Albert Pyramid which Queen Victoria had built for her husband. It can be seen from the road from the other car park entrance. Plus you can see the castle from a higher elevation if you do the cairns walk as the starting point is from the car park you stopped in.
I live near Deeside,i keep an extra large pair of rubber gloves,( they are like big black marigolds) in the panniers, they go over the bike gloves, ive often ridden hundreds of miles in torrential rain, and the hands can be a problem when trying to work the controls,in sodden gloves.
Good idea that 👍🏻 even the best waterproof gloves let the water in after a while so a pair of Marigolds will do the job well …..at least you haven’t got a pink pair 😁
Yeah beautiful in every weather 😊 -can see why the Queen loved to stay here. Guessing you have some awesome storms in Texas! Always good to clear the air 😎👍🏻
Quick tip , get a cheap carrier plastic bag x2 put them over your sock sole then put into boots and ride along . Your feet will be dry and your boots will dry out in no time as you go along. Fortunately for you I have been riding bikes since the 70's when gear was abysmal so just passing on the old time tips. Regards Robert & Carolyn .
Hi Robert & Carolyn, great tip thanks! Just need to remember to carry them 😊 Must have been tough riding in bad weather them without the waterproof clothing of today. Thanks for watching, just uploaded the next video 😊👍
@@SeanandEmily another tip for carrying bags , if you have waterproofs to put on you can put the bags over your boots and it helps slide the boot down the inside of the waterproof trousers .
Thanks for some amazing footage and your wonderful take of the country! 🏴 Sorry it pissed on your parade, but you were due the norm of our weather at some point 😃
haha after two and half weeks of sunny weather and blue skies we were on borrowed time anyway 😂 Plus no trip to Scotland would be complete without a good downpour 😉
Love Your Video Scotland Is So Beautiful Some Places Look Like Ireland I'm A Cyclist But Into The Motorbikes This Years The Isle Of Man Is A Worth While Visit Lovely Island I Was There Very Exciting When The Races Are On
Glad you enjoyed it Scotland really is beautiful! It's true there are some big similarities in the coastline - guess they were attached at some point in history. Yeah Isle of man race week must be so much fun -it's on our to do list for sure. Here's the full playlist in case you need it: ruclips.net/p/PLl_mRzVHVQ0zUtFe7yIi6rO-2-k465D31&si=AHEoG6ypfhGKndSB
What fantastic memories you are both creating to look back on in years to come, this really is what motorcycling is all about! Glad you managed to get something to eat at the end of the day! You both prove that with a sense of humour most situations are tolerable ! Cheers.
Yeah no one ever regretted making memories 😊 We were so happy when they said they would reopen the kitchen for us!! I think had we been 5 minuets later it would have closed for the day.
Love the way you two aways find a positive in every situation 😊 brilliant!! Last week we visited Chatsworth House, £5 to park and £30 each to enter 😮 what a place though. That curry looked amazing, was it Thai green curry? Fantastic series 😊
Thanks David, sometime you just have to laugh it off 😁. Chatsworth is an amazing place set in a spectacular grounds, at least you got to go inside for your £30 😁. It was great! Think it was a sweet potato Indian curry -just what we needed 😋.
I have really enjoyed 'tagging along' on your trip, from your great views and fun discussions. I had to cancel my Scotland trip this September, so this has been helping to fill the void. Always remember to be safe folks and I wish you all the best!
Hi Jim, thanks very much and we are happy to hear you have enjoyed tagging along with us 😊 Sorry to hear you had to cancel your trip, hopefully you can do it again next year 👍 Thanks very much for watching and here is the full playlist in case you are interested in the other stages of the tour 😎👍 ruclips.net/p/PLl_mRzVHVQ0zUtFe7yIi6rO-2-k465D31&si=oVNm6Xe_ldArFBPn
Well, we've all been there. I met some Belgians who had to buy welly boots and duct tape to get back in the torrential rain. Newcastleton is a nice (long) village, but very prone to flooding. Great road that - down to Newcastleton and Keilder (Keelder). Keep it up !!!
At least we know Wellies are waterproof 😆 although I must say these BMW gravel boots have been great in the rain (not so good when you let water pour into the top though) Flooding must be a horrible thing to deal with, a shame! Thanks, catch you in the next one 😎👍🏻
Thanks a lot! Gotta love the unpredictable Scottish weather! Snow on the bens already? Wow, we definitely caught the Highlands at the perfect time! Glad you enjoyed the tour!
Hi Sean and Emily ,Sorry that you got drenched today, But glad to see it didnt dampen your spirits. i found the content enjoyble and entertaining. Heres hoping the weather is better tomorrow for your look at Adriens wall .
Hi, not to worry about the rain ….it’s about time we had some 😁. Thanks very much! And hope to catch you in the next one 😊👍🏻 The full tour so far: ruclips.net/p/PLl_mRzVHVQ0zUtFe7yIi6rO-2-k465D31&si=kV485XhgtEm7lVfm
Haha us too as we had had a conversation about it not going to rain 🤣🤣 We had the best time in Scotland!! So much so that’s it’s made the ‘places we would want to live list’ 😊 Thanks for watching and we hope you enjoy the rest of the tour 😎👍🏻
Well, this was a four season day and well hydrated by mother nature. What else does one need? Oh, and beautifull scenery too. Hope your gear will dry soon. Have fun and see you in the next episode. 😎👍
Hey Ruud, yeah we needed a good wash after all this touring 😁. So beautiful even the ride in the rain that we didn’t record was enjoyable 😊 see you in the next one 😎👍🏻
Absolutely love your vlogs...I've travelled through Scotland, Ireland with you...even ended up watching you in my home County of Cornwall last night..down on the Lizard....keep em coming...Absolutely stunning and thoroughly entertaining....😉🙏
Hi Andrew! Thanks so much for your comment and kind words 😊. We had a great time in Cornwall although it feels like ages ago now 😁 lizard point was one of our favourite places on the South coast. What an amazing scottish tour Sean and Emily, loved every minute of it and hooked. I can't wait for the next video, the Irish tour will have to go on the back burner, thanks so much again guys and sorry about the Balmoral storm, stay safe, love you both.❤❤
Hi Davie, yeah the Scottish part of the tour was amazing and we got to see so much! Not to worry about the storm as we have had awesome weather so far 😊 Thanks again for your comment and we have just dropped the next video 😎👍
Could not stop laughing at the sight of you both trying to get your gear back on. Oh deary me. Really good that you both had great time touring Scotland. I am off to Tenerife 16/09 but will continue following you both on my tablet. Happy biking.
Hi Douglas, haha we had a good laugh that day too 😂. Scotland has just been incredible and we have enjoyed every single moment! Tenerife should be nice this time of year so we hope you have a great time there! Catch you in the next one and thanks for watching 😊👍
Yeah it was a great day none the less, and the ride south was a lot of fun too -was amazing seeing all the streams and waterfalls fill up with water. 😎👍🏻
another great ride guys wow and a little wet better watch those bridges might lose m looks like most of the road over that way are in km 56km looks pretty fast on cam are
Thank you for that segment, it's probably a day you won't forget in a hurry! Equally though it's also one that memories are made of, even if they aren't quite the ones you planned! You've reminded me that it's easily in the teens of years since I last ventured up that way and I really must return, though I don't know that Balmoral will be particularly near the top of the visit list-think you may have saved me a couple of hours.....( one small correction, the Queen would spend the summer at Balmoral but not Christmas, that period was normally at Sandringham in Norfolk ) Looking forward to seeing the Keilder forest bits and into the North Of England, also bits I need to get back and visit again. Safe travels.
You're so right-it’s a day that will definitely stick with us! Those unexpected adventures are often the most memorable, even if they don't go as planned. Thanks for the correction on Balmoral, and I hope your next visit up there is just as enjoyable Keilder Forest is a fantastic spot too!
Look out for some of the Royals a Ballater they are known for a wander up the hills and shops We have had some crazy heavy showers ,but part of the fun I guess ,stay safe 👍
@@SeanandEmily really enjoyed your journey from Northern Ireland across through Scotland down to the borders lots of places I have been and funny I was in Newcastleton a couple of weeks ago staying in the cabins in the woods on an Alpha weekend away, bought a couple of bananas in the spar 😂 looking forward to the rest of the UK journey ,thank you both and haste ye back
the old military road is usually used when there's a landslip on the A82 which is just above the military road which is always getting blocked just remembered that Balmoral was where the queen died ps The forest is pronounced keelda forest
Haha exactly!! Can’t have people thinking it’s just sunny weather and blue skies as they might be in for a shock 🤣🤣. Really glad you’ve enjoyed it and we hope you enjoy the rest of the series! 😎👍🏻
Oh dear....was it wrong of me to laugh so hard at your rainy escapade 🤣🤣🤣 The water coming out of your boots sent me over 😂😂 In fairness, you did really well to rescue it all. Great episode once again. Thank you 🙂
Haha Laugh away Gary -we sure did 😁 The irony of putting on gear to stay dry that’s already wet wasn’t lost on us 🤣 It was hilarious just 1 boot each was full of water -think it ran down and dripped off the pannier. Had the hair drier on those boots most of the evening 🤣 Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Will be announcing the next adventure in the next couple of weeks 😁........clue 🥭🐯🛕🍛. We will be coming to America but might not be until 2026.... big plans on the way 😊
@@SeanandEmily Looking forward to your next adventure for sure….we’ll still be in Iowa, USA in 2026 (considering buying a home in the UK/Scotland when I retire) so if you’re USA travels bring you anywhere near NE Iowa you’ve got a place to stay.
Hehe yeah and we totally had it coming with all that good weather we had had 🤣......well plans are in motion and we will keep you posted 😊 What part of Australia are you from again?
Rain is fine, as long as you have the right gear 😊 Only twice in my life have I pulled over because the rain was so heavy I couldn't actually see the road ahead.
Yeah absolutely, a lot of our Norway trip last year was in the rain and we had a great time. The ironic thing is if we had left our bike gear on whilst walking around the castle we would have stayed dry 🤣. Yeah been in rain like that where you can’t see and flipping the visor up to see just floods your face 🤣
Thanks very much! We had a fantastic 4 weeks touring the UK and Ireland. Here's the full playlist in case you're interested 😎👍 ruclips.net/p/PLl_mRzVHVQ0zUtFe7yIi6rO-2-k465D31&si=-OwZeFhmcPZwc9wp
Those free hotel shower caps fit over the top of boots very nicely, S&E. They take up no space at all. You could also put them over your socks inside the wet boot!
Yeah had no problems with any of the panniers letting water in and the gear is great -just wasn’t expecting the giant storm to appear (like the other hundred people walking around in shirts and shorts 🤣)
Did 5 days in the highlands last year it rained from leaving England till I got home 😂at every hotel and pub I asked for the drying room for my gear 😂.
Really enjoyed that...the road into Castleton looked ace! Can i give you some tips on place names ("NO"!!): Kielder : keel-der Harwick : hoyk (like 'boy', but with an h not a b, and a k on the end) Keswick : kes-ick Lord only knows how Harwick became 'hoyk', but thats the borders for you! Looking forward to the rest of the series...cheers! 😉
Yeah it was a great bonus ride of the day and a great road to enjoy the rest of the daylight 😊. Plenty more videos on the way as we make our way back into England. Thanks 😎👍🏻 Here’s the full tour so far: ruclips.net/p/PLl_mRzVHVQ0zUtFe7yIi6rO-2-k465D31&si=kV485XhgtEm7lVfm
Thanks for your reply ...not biking anymore as result of an accident..I have been suggesting your site to my biker buddies ...keep safe and keep her between the ditches lol
Brilliant episode! I was killing myself laughing as you emptied your boots, serves you right for having such amazing weather for the rest of your trip 😂😂 Loved watching the run down to Newcastleton. It's one of my day out runs from Newcastle and that road is great fun on a sportsbike. I don't think you pronounced a single place right but we can forgive you that for showing everyone our special place in the world 😉
Nice video once again , £250 for an inside tour ,and the over priced food,no wonder the Royals all walk around with a massive smile on their faces, can’t beat a bit of trench foot 🤣🏴,
That back road was absolutely stunning, especially with those hidden views! I can only imagine how magical it must look in winter covered in snow. December sounds like a perfect time to revisit.
Living 40 minutes south of Kielder (pronounced Keelder Sean🤣) I enjoyed this one, so funny you getting wet gear on, we’ve all been there🥲. I live just north of Hadrians Wall near Corbridge, fantastic area to live with the Borders and Northumberland as my back yard.
Hi Ian, wish they spelt them like they’re pronounced (German is actually easier! 🤣). Haha yeah most people put rain gear on to stay dry not make them wet 😁. Ahh okay you for sure will Recognise the next few episodes -a lovely place to live. Close to Scotland and the Lake District 😎👍🏻
@@SeanandEmily North Pennines, the Lakes, North Yorkshire, the Borders and parts of Dumfries & Galloway all within a day’s ride, it’s rough. Off to Western Isles via the Isle of Bute a week today, it’s rough but somebody has to do it😉looking forward to the remainder of your tour. Agree with you that German is so much easier to pronounce, did it at school. Keep up the good work👍
oooooh that's going to be nice!! We really want to come back to explore the Isles. That's a lot of awesome areas you have to make do with 😉. Lake District next for this series
Lovely content once again ...I was a biker for 40 years and unless you have been a biker you can not understand the thrill of cornering...hate to ask but have u ever come off ?? ...regards from southeast ireland 🇮🇪
Thank you so much, Thomas! 40 years on the bike - that’s incredible! And you’re absolutely right, there’s nothing like the thrill of riding. As for coming off… we haven’t yet but almost on our first date the rear tire exploded on the motorway but Sean kept the bike up … somehow 😅. Hope you’re still enjoying the rides in Ireland!
I did the same thing in Lithuania. Popped off my gear to see a castle, caught in a deluge, poured water out of my gore-tex boot and had to ride in the rain back to the hotel. Lucky for me they had hair drier to lend out and I had dry gear to change into. One does feel bloody miserable when one’s feet are wet like that!
It’s takes a lot of effort to take off all the gear too 🤣 -usually it’s worth it lol Yeah we had a similar evening with the hairdryers but waterproof boots are a nightmare to dry 🤪
@@SeanandEmily The worst part is almost when you get warm and wet in boots. The feeling of being a steamed fish in your own gear….Next year I’ll make sure to always store them sole-side up or in a dry bag or summat 🤣
Balmoral's less than an hour from home and I'm watching this video inside a tent in the rain in Croatia.... I could have just stayed at home if I want a cold, wet ride! 🙈😂
Haha, I guess rain seems to be following you! Watching from a tent in Croatia must add a whole other vibe to the video. Hopefully, it’ll warm up soon for you!
Another great video! Nothing like a good rain shower eh? Great weather for ducks. 😅 My wife and I need to come over and do that ride. Ever consider guided rides/tours? LOL
Thank you! It was a huge storm I think everyone around was surprised when the thunder started! Actually Sean and I were talking about tours the other day it would definitely be a laugh! 😂
Hi toghther, i saw you are on tour with the touratech Rambler suit. Also i have read a test about the world traveler suit from you. Wath combination do you prefer? I am looking forward to your feedback. And by the way, you produce realy great videos. Regards Thomas
Hi Thomas, it all depends on what climates you mostly ride in. The world traveler without the outer layer on is a totally vented suit. If you are riding mostly in conditions where it rains on and off and the temperature doesn't get above 25 then the rambler is the better choice. If however you are mostly riding in hot dry conditions and don't mid stopping to put on the waterproof layer then the world traveler is the one for you. The ventilation on the world traveler is amazing! Really glad you enjoy the videos and we hope you enjoy the rest of the series 😎👍
Many thanks for your prompt reply. Up to what temperature ist the traveler comfortable for you to drive without the weather suit? I ordered both suits from TT to fry on. Best regards
With a T shirt on i would say around 15-20 is still comfortable, maybe a merino layer getting to 15. Below 15 it's probably time to put the outer layer on or have a heated vest on. Below 10 both layers for sure. Have ridden in 35 degrees heat with this suit on and still been comfortable.
Hi guys, can i ask you some questions about the bike? 1) With the passenger on and the suspensions on Auto don't you get pushed a bit more into the tank? (i used to have the stock seat on low/rear and high/front to compensate but then had to switch to a Wunderlich one to solve the problem) 2) Do the grip puppies get wet when it rains? I would like to buy them but i'm afraid they could do like a "wet sponge effect"... 3) What kind of benefits did you find with the bar raisers? I'm 6'2" and thiking about it too. Thanks and safe travel guys! :D
Hi, yeah no worries 😉 1) yeah so times have a similar issue, especially under hard braking lol. Have also done the same with the seat although I don’t like having it too low. Thinking those nine slip nets might be the answer. 2) never actually thought about that so it mustn’t be an issue, I got them to limit the wear on the Oem grips. They do reduce the heating of the grips however they make long rides a lot more comfortable. They were only €10 from a shop in Germany so I thought I would give them a go -I like them. 3) initially I put them on to make standing easier, I have the 45mm ones from Touratech and they do make a difference. An added benefit is I find then more comfortable on longer rides (have no idea why lol) -guess it helps add more bend to the arm 🤔. Had them on the last R1200 so put them straight on the R1250. I’m also 6’2’’ and I personally think they are well worth it. Also 45mm is the max you can add without having to play with the cables -but more that the screen will conflict a bit on full lock when the screen is at its highest setting. 😎👍🏻
I've never tried nets but i heard they work fine, the Wunderlich heated seat is very expensive but actually solved the problem 100% (as of Wunderlich/Touratech tradition it is way firmer than the stock one so also the standard height one will keep you a couple cm higher). I think i'll a give a try at the risers then, maybe it will solve the upper back/neck muscle pain i sometimes have! Thanks again for the very kind answers, maybe one day we'll meet on the road! :D
Actually maybe the higher bars help us to keep a more upright straight back posture 🤔 hope they work for you and would be cool catch you on the road sometime 😎👍🏻
No lived in Switzerland almost more than in the UK and speak German on a daily bases, also I would guess those not from the immediate area would also mispronounce the odd place name due to accents and dialects - it's just in a normal every day conversation people don't feel the need to correct each other 😂
@@SeanandEmily it was intended as a correction just a good natured comment as I am one of your subscribers and as you speak fluent German I'm sure you'll realise it's all about learning too 👍
Yeah and when presented with them whilst moving without having the luxury of stopping and googling the pronunciation makes it all the more tricky. We find German place names easier - they are written how they are spelt. Hope you enjoyed the video

@@SeanandEmily another tip for carrying bags , if you have waterproofs to put on you can put the bags over your boots and it helps slide the boot down the inside of the waterproof trousers .
😎👍🏻
Thanks for some amazing footage and your wonderful take of the country! 🏴 Sorry it pissed on your parade, but you were due the norm of our weather at some point 😃
haha after two and half weeks of sunny weather and blue skies we were on borrowed time anyway 😂 Plus no trip to Scotland would be complete without a good downpour 😉
@SeanandEmily and you took it in amazing spirit ✨️ 🍻
Loved this series so far. We jocks are usually upbeat which is why we say ‘the rain keeps the snow away’ lol. Stay safe guys
Glad to hear you’re enjoying it! There’s a loot of episodes out now and still lots more to go! Haha yeah that’s one way of looking at it 😎👍🏻

Glad you enjoyed it Scotland really is beautiful! It's true there are some big similarities in the coastline - guess they were attached at some point in history. Yeah Isle of man race week must be so much fun -it's on our to do list for sure.

Such a great fun video, sorry about the rain but is was funny 😂 . Looking forward to the next video
Glad you enjoyed it!! We did have a laugh! 😂
Thank you.
You're welcome! 😊
Oh my gosh. The level of the acrobatic moves is insane. Just got to love Scotland though. Great episode and thanks for the laughs. 😃
Haha, glad you enjoyed the chaos! Scotland really does have a way of keeping things exciting. Thanks for watching and sharing the laughs with us!
A very beautiful place
It really is!
I have really enjoyed 'tagging along' on your trip, from your great views and fun discussions. I had to cancel my Scotland trip this September, so this has been helping to fill the void. Always remember to be safe folks and I wish you all the best!

Well, we've all been there. I met some Belgians who had to buy welly boots and duct tape to get back in the torrential rain. Newcastleton is a nice (long) village, but very prone to flooding. Great road that - down to Newcastleton and Keilder (Keelder). Keep it up !!!
At least we know Wellies are waterproof 😆 although I must say these BMW gravel boots have been great in the rain (not so good when you let water pour into the top though)
Flooding must be a horrible thing to deal with, a shame!
Thanks, catch you in the next one 😎👍🏻
Welcome to the Scottish weather,we now have snow on the bens , brilliant coverage on your tour , hope you enjoyed the highlands 👍
Thanks a lot! Gotta love the unpredictable Scottish weather! Snow on the bens already? Wow, we definitely caught the Highlands at the perfect time! Glad you enjoyed the tour!

Looking forwards to sharing these videos with you, hope we do it justice 😎👍🏻
Despite the rain you both still had fun. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Yeah it was a great day none the less, and the ride south was a lot of fun too -was amazing seeing all the streams and waterfalls fill up with water. 😎👍🏻

Thanks for the recommendation, hope to get there in the future 😎👍🏻
another great ride guys wow and a little wet better watch those bridges might lose m looks like most of the road over that way are in km 56km looks pretty fast on cam are
Hi, haha yeah Emily defiantly got some air time on that bridge 🤣 All in MPH there and national speed limit is 60MPH there so a decent speed 😎👍🏻
Thank you for that segment, it's probably a day you won't forget in a hurry! Equally though it's also one that memories are made of, even if they aren't quite the ones you planned! You've reminded me that it's easily in the teens of years since I last ventured up that way and I really must return, though I don't know that Balmoral will be particularly near the top of the visit list-think you may have saved me a couple of hours.....( one small correction, the Queen would spend the summer at Balmoral but not Christmas, that period was normally at Sandringham in Norfolk )
Looking forward to seeing the Keilder forest bits and into the North Of England, also bits I need to get back and visit again.
Look out for some of the Royals a Ballater they are known for a wander up the hills and shops
We have had some crazy heavy showers ,but part of the fun I guess ,stay safe 👍
Didn’t see any royals but then could have nodded to William out on his Triumph without knowing 😊
Yeah all good fun and great memories! Thanks 😎👍🏻

the old military road is usually used when there's a landslip on the A82 which is just above the military road which is always getting blocked just remembered that Balmoral was where the queen died ps The forest is pronounced keelda forest
Thanks for the info! Do they get many landslides? 😳
We get 4 seasons in one day - often. Hope you enjoyed Scotland. Haste ye back

Yes it was!
Oh dear....was it wrong of me to laugh so hard at your rainy escapade 🤣🤣🤣 The water coming out of your boots sent me over 😂😂 In fairness, you did really well to rescue it all. Great episode once again. Thank you 🙂
Haha Laugh away Gary -we sure did 😁 The irony of putting on gear to stay dry that’s already wet wasn’t lost on us 🤣
It was hilarious just 1 boot each was full of water -think it ran down and dripped off the pannier. Had the hair drier on those boots most of the evening 🤣
Thanks for watching 👍🏻

What part of Australia are you from again?
Rain is fine, as long as you have the right gear 😊 Only twice in my life have I pulled over because the rain was so heavy I couldn't actually see the road ahead.
Yeah absolutely, a lot of our Norway trip last year was in the rain and we had a great time. The ironic thing is if we had left our bike gear on whilst walking around the castle we would have stayed dry 🤣.
Yeah been in rain like that where you can’t see and flipping the visor up to see just floods your face 🤣
There are few things more hideous than wet feet in your boots! So endless sympathy! By the way, it's Keelder forest xx
The only thing more hideous was the pizza 🤣😂 Thank you for watching!

Those free hotel shower caps fit over the top of boots very nicely, S&E. They take up no space at all. You could also put them over your socks inside the wet boot!
Good thinking! 😎👍🏻
Balmoral is a tourist trap, there are hundreds of better and older Castles on your route and a lot cheaper as well :)
Perhaps but it’s still a nice place to visit - free during the winter months when it’s open.
Great tour regardless of the rain
Thanks Nigel! Glad you enjoyed it and we hope you enjoy the rest of the series 😊👍
Lomo dry bags and panniers are 100% waterproof.... believe me our gear was dry as a bone when we got home from Scotland 😉👍
Oh man that's unfortunate!! Nothing worse than trying to dry gear out every night! 😝
I am Scottish, hate it here for the rain, never get enough time on the bike
Kepp safe and Enjoy :)
Starting on Monday you've got 7 days of sunshine ☀️ in Scotland,so make the most of it 😀, that's if the forecast doesn't change 🤔😅
We can’t complain, as the weather has been amazing 🤩
Thanks 😊
Really enjoyed that...the road into Castleton looked ace! Can i give you some tips on place names ("NO"!!):
Kielder : keel-der
Harwick : hoyk (like 'boy', but with an h not a b, and a k on the end)
Keswick : kes-ick
Lord only knows how Harwick became 'hoyk', but thats the borders for you!
Looking forward to the rest of the series...cheers! 😉

Sorry to hear that Thomas! And thank you so much for recommending that channel 😊
Brilliant episode! I was killing myself laughing as you emptied your boots, serves you right for having such amazing weather for the rest of your trip 😂😂 Loved watching the run down to Newcastleton. It's one of my day out runs from Newcastle and that road is great fun on a sportsbike. I don't think you pronounced a single place right but we can forgive you that for showing everyone our special place in the world 😉
Haha exactly can’t be going around saying how nice the weather has been without consequences 🤣. That run down to Newcastleton was an unexpected treat!
Nice video once again , £250 for an inside tour ,and the over priced food,no wonder the Royals all walk around with a massive smile on their faces, can’t beat a bit of trench foot 🤣🏴,
Cheers Martin, yeah that’s one expensive frozen pizza 😁
Haha 😆-nothing a night of the hairdryer can’t sort out
I love the back road you took to Balmoral. I go most years in December and the Spital of Glenshee can be truly stunning when covered in snow...
That back road was absolutely stunning, especially with those hidden views! I can only imagine how magical it must look in winter covered in snow. December sounds like a perfect time to revisit.
Oh dear, that's Scotland 1 day 4 totally different seasons !
😁 couldn’t really come to Scotland and not get rained on ….we had it coming 😁
Agree with you that German is so much easier to pronounce, did it at school. Keep up the good work👍
oooooh that's going to be nice!! We really want to come back to explore the Isles. That's a lot of awesome areas you have to make do with 😉. Lake District next for this series

But free during the winter period on certain dates 👍🏻
The Snow Roads in the Cairngorms are the best biking roads in Scotland.
Yeah lots of great roads up there 😎🙌🏻
At least you saw Balmoral....last year we diverted and stuck on the A9 in torrential rain as the Cairngorms were shrouded in cloud...
Wow, that must have been a tough ride in those conditions!! Hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Scotland through!
It’s takes a lot of effort to take off all the gear too 🤣 -usually it’s worth it lol
Yeah we had a similar evening with the hairdryers but waterproof boots are a nightmare to dry 🤪
@@SeanandEmily The worst part is almost when you get warm and wet in boots. The feeling of being a steamed fish in your own gear….Next year I’ll make sure to always store them sole-side up or in a dry bag or summat 🤣
Haha yeah so true!! The strange thing was we both had one boot each that was dry 😆
Yeah will definitely turn them the other way next time too

Hi toghther, i saw you are on tour with the touratech Rambler suit. Also i have read a test about the world traveler suit from you.
Wath combination do you prefer?
I am looking forward to your feedback.
And by the way, you produce realy great videos.
Regards
Thomas
(i used to have the stock seat on low/rear and high/front to compensate but then had to switch to a Wunderlich one to solve the problem)
2) Do the grip puppies get wet when it rains? I would like to buy them but i'm afraid they could do like a "wet sponge effect"...
3) What kind of benefits did you find with the bar raisers? I'm 6'2" and thiking about it too.
Thanks and safe travel guys! :D
Hi, yeah no worries 😉
1) yeah so times have a similar issue, especially under hard braking lol.
Actually maybe the higher bars help us to keep a more upright straight back
posture 🤔 hope they work for you and would be cool catch you on the road sometime 😎👍🏻
Great trip it shows you don't spend much time in UK, Hawick is pronounced oick up here. Not bad tho I ll keep watchin the vids 😂👍
No lived in Switzerland almost more than in the UK and speak German on a daily bases, also I would guess those not from the immediate area would also mispronounce the odd place name due to accents and dialects - it's just in a normal every day conversation people don't feel the need to correct each other 😂

Great video but butchering the local place names 🙈😅 makes you think about how they're spelled when you've never known any different
Yeah and when presented with them whilst moving without having the luxury of stopping and googling the pronunciation makes it all the more tricky. We find German place names easier - they are written how they are spelt.
Hope you enjoyed the video
