The full 5-member lineup will finally be completed in July. I have high expectations. The songs are still really good, I think the synergy will be greater with the five-person system.
I love Limelight so much and I really like what 143 has been doing content wise. They do a lot of crossover content with LL and iKon doing variety stuff together on their youtube shows and Jay/Jinhwan featuring in the Honestly MV. Gaeun has also performed with Bobby at music shows and LL opened for iKon at their last tour. So I can just imagine how awesome that experience is for the girls being rookies but getting all this exposure and having iKon there to learn from. I also can't wait for Yeseo and Mashiro to join!
My first impression of Starlight is that it reminded me of Fiesta which makes sense since it's the same producers. Blanc Noir and Crystal feel like improved iterations of Starlight with Crystal being my favorite of the 3. Overall, I think Madeline is my favorite song with Eye to Eye being a really close second. They released a Special Clip video for Madeline which I actually prefer over the original MV. It really captures and enhances the nostalgic feeling of the song as it's basically them just exploring Japan with mixed in camcorder footage. At the end of the video, there is coming soon message on a billboard that is teasing something for Summer 2024, which hopefully means Mashiro and Yeseo.
Eye To Eye was one of my top 5 songs last year and so is Madeliene one of my favs this year! I still remember my first time hearing the Eye To Eye chorus and being absolutely gagged by it. Blanc Noir and Crystal are great bsides as well!

More than any group I listen to regularly at the moment, Limelight is seriously comforting while still letting a bunch of things bubble under the surface. Like a great slice-of-life drama, some of their music feels really still for some reason, in the best way. This particular version of Cha Cha was (imo) one of the songs of the year for that reason-- it's dense without outwardly even changing that much. (As lolitsmike said, the album version is very nice but significantly different) Edit-- thanks for the Kcon footage, very cool!
Glad you finally got around to watching these :) This sound is also 100% up my alley, with Eye to Eye being one of my SOTY contenders last year and Madeleine right up there for this year - I think they currently have my fave overall sound in Kpop, and getting to see them live at KCON just solidified that.

22:30 yes, Madeleine is a Song of the Year contender for me. i thought it had the most viral potential because it's such a crowd pleaser. it's just a good old fashion bop with a catchy melody. i hope Limelight stays on this track of bright lovely songs and avoids succumbing to the trend, so they can position themselves to be the next big bright concept group after stayc. they just need more exposure, which will happen hopefully when they add yeshiro, because yeseo and shiro individually have more fan accounts than limelight 💖

Like their music, disappointing a lot of their first release like Cha Cha has different versions on YT, the actual versions aren't as good. They had a bside with Honestly, called Blanc Noir, that had the same beat as Starlight/Fiesta/Rhodante, which I actually like better than Starlight

My opinion, Eye To Eye is one of the top Kpop tracks of the last DECADE. It's unreal how perfect that song is. It's just gorgeous.
