Why there aren't more films about the English Civil War is totally beyond me.

As a proud Cornishman and Bude local it would be excellent to see you talk more about Cornwall in the Civil War.
The Battle of Stratton, for instance and such local legends as the charismatic Sir Bevil Grenville and his seven foot 'Cornish Giant' of a bodyguard.

I would love to do some more English Civil War battles in the future. There is one fought in February of 1643 (I can't remember the exact name off the top of my head, Modsbury I think?) where three of the Cornish regiments held off a much larger force of Trained Bands from Devonshire in the snow.
I have a load more Rant and Review videos in the pipeline and then after that, my next history video will be looking at the Battle of Stoke Field. Might want to one on the Cornish Rebellion of 1497 after that perhaps, we will see.

Essex seems trapped in mind too. He reminds me of Paulus at Stalingrad, or Bazine at Metz, or Nicias at Syracuse and so on.

Thanks, I thought I would get this video out before my next movie review (which will be Waterloo, or rather the first half of it!) I have another one recorded on the Battle of Philiphaugh which will probably after the next movie review.

See: Mark Stoyle's Soldiers and Strangers: An Ethnic History of the English Civil War. For the ethnic element of the English Civil War, i.e. the issue of the English against the Celtic nationalities. Quote: "The king’s army became associated with these foreigners-Scots, Welsh, Cornish and Irish-whom he used in his war against Parliament. Parliament, in contrast, represented England and the English". and as history records Cromwell treated the celts accordingly.
