You kept me in the dark until the last minute, wondering what kind of project this would be. Good job and poor Shelley, staining all this. Keeping Shelley happy, next project a bookshelf 😂🇱🇺
Haha yes.. fortunately she likes doing all the staining and with the spirit based stain it’s much easier. It turned out pretty good but there’s a few things I’d do differently if I was to make another. 👌
I’m not a genius I just like different and try to do things that push me and test me. If I keep Shelley busy I get to watch the football so I am very strategic on when things are ready for stain 🤣👌
Love this one. We're getting a wood burning stove shortly (can't wait) and this is exactly what we need. Thank you Billy. A lot of work but my goodness it turned out well. I bought a headphone set on amazon that's like a headband. I got it for night time as I listen to sleep meditation. When I have a lot of sanding to do, I throw the headband on, throw my favourite playlist on and put my vanderfields ear defenders on and I can sand for hours happily. I got the ear defenders on amazon too and they're absolutely amazing. Even when you're sanding you can hear people talking to you but the sander could be right up close to your ear and the noise won't be loud. You really should get yourself some because the noise of the tools will damage your ears. I wear the headphones when I'm mowing the lawn too so I don't have to deal with my nosy obnoxious neighbours!
Haha I’m lucky I’ve got good neighbours, I’ll have a look at the headphones definitely it’s something I’ve actually forgot to look at but I will definitely 👍 Thank you 🪚❤️
great job Billy,The wood storage is a great idea ,as for the glue slipping I watched another RUclips video he used ordinary table salt which appears to work as it acts like a sandpaper haven't tried it myself yet
I’ve tried that and it really does work. The salt dissolves in time so the glue bond is not compromised in any way. But use regular table salt- I tried it with Kosher salt and the crystals were just too big 😐
Hi Billy, Nice piece of work and looks good in your front room, some thing useful as well. Solid and it will take the weight of the logs, a great build project. I've been busy my self over the past few days replacing the single glazed windows and old wooden frames in my porch as they were looking worn out and fitted new upvc double glazed windows and the next job is fitting new plastic cladding replacing the old wood T+G boards. As always a great video catch you soon, Take care mate
Hi Billy, I'm from Epsom, Surrey. I have a small compressor that I use for air nailers and staplers. It's much better and smaller than battery-operated and a lot cheaper too.
I wish I could have an air nailer.. it’s madness with trailing cords etc in this small space so adding a air line might be adding to my pain 🤣 I’ll be reorganising this space once the inside of the house is finished so I’ll have another look at how I can incorporate a compressor. 👌

Thank you …👌 I’ll give the salt trick a go definitely

Yeah I like it, makes me wish I had a fireplace
This saves me running in and out constantly getting wood in the winter.. (not running) but you get what I mean 👌
Looks good Billy! Nice addition to your fireplace
Thank you.. 👌
It’s looks great! I never would’ve guessed that’s what it was for but I can see the need.
Yes I need one in here for the winter.. nothing worse than going outside constantly to bring in wood 🤣👌
Top job Billy,well done👏
Thank you.. appreciated 👌
I am really impressed with your build. I personally think it looks amazing and is obviously functional and fit for purpose.
Great job.
👏
Thank you.. it will save me constantly going in and out for wood in the winter.. 👌
It looks really nice. I can see how something like that would take some time to build but it's worth it in the end
Once I had the wood all cut it was surprisingly quick to make..
Good job looks great thx for sharing Keep building fella Cheers
Thank you Larry 👌
Nice work.
