Cheers fella.. putting it together was the hardest part, remembering what way round everything goes 👌 keep plugging fella and thanks for the support.. super appreciated
I like this chair. Can double as a night stand as well in a small space like a dorm room. one suggestion if you're using this as an outdoor piece, you might consider putting a small chamfer on the bottom of each leg. Will help with moisture absorption as well as sliding across surfaces.
Love the look of that, Billy! Those mahogany plugs really pop. I could use a couple of these right now for our "soon to be added" Kitchen breakfast bar.
I’m fairly new to woodworking too. I’ve actually stopped myself from taking on some projects just incase it goes wrong. So the most important thing I’ve learnt from this video is to have a go and if it goes wrong, learn from it. So thank you. Also,I gave up smoking nearly 8 years ago and put on weight immediately. I turned 60 last November and I was determined to get to the same weight as I was at 50 by my 61st birthday. Finally after years of trying I have lost that weight again. I’ve got an app on my phone that helps me count calories (as well as fats, salt, sugar etc) and I was surprised how much that helped. I also bought some digital kitchen scales so that I can weigh what I eat and I was amazed how much more my portion sizes were to recommend portion sizes. I started drinking more water and walking where ever possible. I’m sure your Stanley takes you out and that will help but I know that if I’ve got a dog with me, I stroll while they do all the running. So you may need to take yourself out too. Park further away from the supermarket entrance, go for a little yomp around the block after your tea. It all helps. I’m fortunate that I only work two miles from my house so I walk to work most of the time and that gives me a bit of a buzz before I start work and due to the traffic, walking doesn’t actually take much longer than driving. I know it seems like a lot of fuss, but I lost the weight with months to spare and I don’t need to weigh my food anymore because I know the portion sizes. Also, no expensive gym membership here. Just one foot in front of the other. And the more I walk the easier it becomes. Good luck with everything you do. Fingers crossed for you and your weight loss 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Cheers fella.. my problem is actually walking as the arthritis is really bad in my feet / ankles. When I stopped the smoking roughly 3 years now the weight just piled on so I thought next thing is drinking which I’m on about 18 months. No real reason as to stop just a healthy living thing which I thought would be good to do. Next on my list is tackling the weight which I will start this week and might document it publicly on my woodwork videos which will probably give me more determination. I think I’ll definitely want to lose roughly 5 stone which will just be the sweet spot I’ll aim for.
My daughter has arthritis and it hurts to see her struggling to do what I take for granted. Although walking has helped my weight loss, I seriously do believe that I wouldn’t have lost the weight I have without the app and digital scales. I use NutraCheck, but there are loads out there. Although 5 stone is your aim, maybe try smaller increments otherwise you might get disheartened. 10% of your weight might be a good place to start. I for one would love to see your progress and I’m sure that many others would too. Good luck.
Great stool project. Good job. For a zero clearance on your table saw lower your blade, use painters tape to cover the opening, turn on the blade and slowly raise it. Works in a pinch
Thus is a nice stool, mate. Good job. A garden bench, small coffee table, hallway bench using the same concept and design will look good. Just an idea.
Must say, can see progress in your projects. Soon you will be building complete interiors (not your fortait I believe). Very nice chair and for someone who’s bad at math ……. well done. You can be proud at yourself. Btw. the three holes in the projects as sort of a Billy-signature, I like it. See you soon!
Yes the holes are becoming a thing.. I’m shite at maths never been any good with it 🤣 it’s only progress as I just keep trying to push my own boundaries if it goes ting tong so be it.
Hi Billy, nice chair like your twist on it with the drilled holes. Good project to make and all from one piece of timber. As always a great video take care mate
Hi, M8 until you get a proper zero clearance throat plate try winding your blade right down and then use either extra wide painters tape or. A shiny backed plastic tape, cover the throat plate and then start up your saw and slowly wind the blade back up and voila a zero clearance plate. This applies to your miter saw as well. 👍👍
This came out just wonderful! I like your design added to it! Great video and project, and we got to see a lot of Stanley in the background wondering when the postman will arrive- only not on a Sunday. 🐶😆💖 There’s zero clearance tape that you can put on the saw plate, then slowly let the blade saw thru it- I don’t know if that makes sense. It’s hard to explain but there’s a video on it. I got some for my miter saw so word of warning- that stuff is super sticky!!! Keep up the great work, Billy! 👍🤘🌟
Thank you ❤️ yes I’m going to get myself some of that tape as a temporary measure. I’ll probably try and make my own or buy one if it goes horribly wrong 🤣🤣
The video is from DIY Montreal and her specific video is Five Things You Can Do With Your Miter Saw. I think some things can also apply to table saws. But don’t fall for that $1,000,000 Stick (which actually costs about $25 US) With your creativity and skills I feel confident you can come up with something better!
@@doriglenn1358 I’ve actually been thinking about a different design for that stick.. I’ll try it out see if I can get it right ❤️ I sometimes watch the lady from Montreal she’s very talented.
Wow it turned out great mate i really like the look of the chair but i don't think that I would know how to improve on it me being a novice diyer and i do like to tinker with a nice piece of wood thanks mate for the video Keith from the heart of Norfolk 👍👍👍
That chair looks good, too good for a workshop, I'd be surprised if your wife hasn't already claimed it for use in the house.😅 You need to get yourself a branding stamp to put your maker's mark on your items, they are quite reasonably priced these days.
The tool I told you was sending is now in the UK.I sent you a comment to get contact info.If you don't want it let me know so I can let it go to someone else
Cheers fella, yes I only breathe through my mouth when I have this mask on.. not sure what was going on maybe the weather etc but my glasses just kept fogging 👌
Putting the project on your thumbnail will give you more views than this. I don't know your content strategy, but putting unrelated stuff in your thumbnails isn't working out.
For someone who is new to woodwork you like to challenge yourself. Another beautiful project
I’m the same with everything I do. No half measures just get stuck in and learn .. loads of mistakes but it’s all about the challenge 👌
Lovely stool mate, that would look great in a home bar. All made for a single 2x4 you should definitely be pleased with the results.
Cheers fella.. putting it together was the hardest part, remembering what way round everything goes 👌 keep plugging fella and thanks for the support.. super appreciated
Another excellent project executed. The little details make it yours. The clean lines of the chair really set it off. Good on ya!
Thank you 👌
Yeah, Shelley's going to pinch that for sure.
Yes it’s already been claimed as a desk chair 🤣
Wow another great project great design looks great Keep building Cheers my friend
Cheers Larry.. it come out too good to be a shop chair 👌
Absolutely beautiful😍
Thank you that’s super appreciated 👌❤️
Great looking stool Billy! I like your design elements and your idea of somebody in the future knowing it was made by you! Great idea!
Thank you.. it just makes things a bit different 👌

Yes I’ve already popped a chamfer to the feet.. makes a difference 👌 thank you
Very nice job Billy. Quick tip for a temporary zero clearance plate, stick a length of masking tape down the length of the table.
Yes fella I’ll try that next time I’m cutting.. thank you 👌
Love the look of that, Billy! Those mahogany plugs really pop. I could use a couple of these right now for our "soon to be added" Kitchen breakfast bar.
If you’re making them make them a bit taller for a breakfast bar.. thank you 👌
I'm liking your three hole design additions. Clearly one of your pieces of work 👍
Thank you.. it’s started to become my stamp 👌

Also using the old mahogany for plugs was genius!
Thank you I’ve got loads of old furniture cut up so I’ll incorporate it more in future.. 👌
Yes I’ll try that definitely 👍
Thus is a nice stool, mate. Good job. A garden bench, small coffee table, hallway bench using the same concept and design will look good. Just an idea.
Definitely, some garden related designs for next spring 👌 rather than the usual garden planters

Great job, watch that doesnt end up at the end of the bed.
🤣🤣 yes it won’t end up my shop stool that’s for sure 👌
Very nice!
Thank you 👌
I really like the design of the chair. That was a unique design element adding the holes in the design but i love them.
Thank you 👌

Absolutely a great piece Billy! Looks awesome!

I am going to try this for my shop
Definitely give it a shot, the cuts can be confusing but very doable 👌
Turned out great! Yeah it’s too good just for the woodshop you’re going to have to hide it from the wife lol
Too late fella, it’s now at a desk where the computer is 🤣
Twice now I’ve tried maybe third time lucky
Maybe make the next one a with a little crookedness so she won’t like it lol

Hi John have you an email address?
Wearing a mask while sanding only works if you cover your nose, lol
Cheers fella 👌 yes I know I don’t normally use this mask but I was breathing via my cake hole (mouth) as my windows (glasses) kept fogging up
Another great project, but you may want to cover your nose while wearing the mask.
Cheers fella, yes I only breathe through my mouth when I have this mask on.. not sure what was going on maybe the weather etc but my glasses just kept fogging 👌
