Billy you have been a godsend. Having a debilitating condition kept me from doing nearly everything but you made me realize I can do woodworking. Look forward to learning more from you!
I'm a retired Baptist pastor. I'm 90 years old I started wood working to relax I've been retired 10 years moved back home with no room to put my tools where I can use them, however I fell and trying to recover my balance so I can do woodwork again. I love your videos even though I don't savvy you measurements. I live in Cleveland Texas USA.
Hope you get your health back and get to woodworking.. I’m gonna start doing the videos with a combination of metric & imperial.. I just need to organise myself a bit better. I’ll sort that and thank you for the kind comments 👌🪚
question one was a great question i think the answer should be depending at what stage your at you should search out people on the same level never try jumping in at the deep end. your a good example because people can follow your journey
What I think so cool is that you and your wife do it together. We need more of that here in the U.S. plus I'm a beginner too and I like that you build with pine. Cause pine furniture is better then ikea furniture anyday so pine works. Plus hardwoods are so expensive. But keep making your build videos. Lot of woodworking youtubers talk about tools more then actually building projects. Not your channel you build something every week . Good stuff brother.
Hiya Billy. Great video and thanks for being so open and honest, I really feel that I’ve got to know you a little better. One question you were asked about sponsored videos. I have no problem with sponsored videos, but recently someone RUclipsrs have been reviewing tools that are far too expensive for the average hobbyist. It feels like the subscribers are no longer as important as filling up their workshop with premium tools. I would like to see you reviewing tools because I know that you would give an honest opinion. I just hope that you stick to things that most of us can afford. Thanks again Steve.
I hear you about pain, I'm just starting youtube myself and found out I've got a disc protrusion on my spine which is painful at times, but ya just got to keep going i guess
Hi Billy, Good point on second hand power tools, look out for the part number and to check out there is scratching out were there is a number. As I've said to you in the past nearly all my tools are second hand and the same for power tools and have come from carboot sale I usually go to Chirk carboot , Wrexham. I look at what else the seller is selling if its all power tools and look suspicious I walk away. If its a family or older person and he got other nic nacs I would buy. I take them to the Workshop strip them down check the contacts add more grease to the workings and replace the cable with a 3 meter length I use orange two core flex, I have two 50 meter drums. I replace the 13 amp fuse 9 out 10 cases don't need a 13 amp fuse less than a 1000 watts ( 1 Kw ) I fit a 5 amp fuse any thing over I fit a 7 or 10 amp fuse. Most of these power tools are up to 40 years old and working good. As always I enjoy your videos it's as it is, no nonsense and honest, keep it up mate, your doing great. Catch you soon take care
That was an awesome video! Great job! After you mentioned him in a previous video I checked Webber woodworks. He does incredible stuff. I also watch the Bearded Viking. I thought your point about tools was excellent. There are alternatives as far as buying tools especially if you don’t exactly know what direction to take. Some months ago I bought a scroll saw for $40 at an estate sale and for me that was a perfect purchase. I also picked up some lumber and small sheets of corrugated tin for a very cheap bundled price. I find some very useful tips in your videos. I would’ve never thought to use old furniture as a wood source. I’ve added that to my list of alternative lumber sources. Thanks for doing this video!
@@thewoodjunki I don't know if this will help you but I saw a video where a guy makes fire starters using sawdust and left over melted candle wax. It seemed like a good use of the sawdust especially if you have anything that burns wood.
Hi mate loving your videos...great stuff. I've mentioned this to you before, but you should try a copper bracelet for your arthritis, preferably one that has magnets in. It won't cure it but it certainly will help. They only cost about £20-30 and it's money well spent. Let know how you get on. All the best mate and keep them vids coming 👍👍👍 Paul from Motherwell
Ay Billy i had a lickle idea called Billy’s Bricks. Paid subscribers could get their name on a brick behind you. Thats if its not next doors!! Just a lickle thought.
Are you up to suggestions what to build if so could you build a parcel drop off box with cut list enjoying the channel made a few things turned out great thanks
I just stopped and just went cold turkey.. it took 3 days to stop me crawling the walls. Sounds stupid but I drank lots of coffee & plenty of biscuits and everytime I was craving I cast my mind to the pictures the nurse showed me. Everyone is different and a lot of people have different ways of trying to stop. The main thing is don’t stop trying and you will finally get there.
@mikesantiago1236 try and identify your triggers/cravings. I've worked with substance abusers, and nicotine is one of the most difficult to give up. Bottom line, if you want (not need) to give up, then you will 😉
@@mikesantiago1236 Went to the docs one time and he asked "Have you ever tried to give up smoking?" I told him I was an expert at trying, I had done it so many times. "That's great news", he said. I asked "Why is it great news? I'm still smoking?" "Well," he said "No-one ever stops on the first try so you're a lot closer to succeeding". Don't stop trying. I'm still trying. Someone said that vaping was a great step to stopping. It's not. I tried that and the bloody things are more addictive than the cigarettes. It's never out of my hand. So don't try the vapes. Good luck to both of us.
